Chapter 1
Sunlight seeped into the den as Silver slowly opened her eyes. Blinking the sleep from her eyes, the wolf pup stood. Silver shook her fur and stepped out of he den, feeling the cool breeze of Autumn. She saw her den mates, Spiral, Sweet, Tiny, and Crystal play fighting in the clearing. The four wolves towered over their younger den mate. "Hey! Can I play?" Silver hopefully asked.
"I don't know. Can you? I think maybe your a bit small," Crystal growled, her green eyes flashing in annoyance. "Your still a blue-eye."
Silver lowered her head. It was true that her eyes still carried the dappled blue that all pups were born with. Her den mates' eye colors had appeared last moon. Silver shot her head up. "You only got yours last moon! I'm three moons younger then you! I can't help that," she growled. The other pups stepped back, obviously scared that Silver had spoken back to Crystal.
"Yeah, pup. And I can't help that you're a blue-eye," she snarled, turning back to her littermates. Silver stalked away, growling. A grasshopper was making its way through the frosty sprigs of grass. Eyes lighting up, Silver dropped into a stalking position. Slowly moving forward, she prepared to pounce. Suddenly a paw slammed onto the grasshopper. Silver looked up in surprise. Crystal was smirking at the little pup. "That 'stalking' was terrible. I won't be surprised if Alpha Winter Hawk has already made a mental reminder to make you omega! That is, if you even become an Aviant," the pup laughed. "Everyone knows who the Alpha of the five of us is," she said, lifting her head.
"Shut up for once, Crystal," Tiny said as he stepped forward. Crystal whipped around, showing her teeth to her small brother. Silver crouched down and crept up to Crystal. She leaped up and clamped her teeth down onto the older she-pup's tail.
Crystal yelped as her Littermates burst out laughing. "Terrible stalking, huh, Crystal," Spiral laughed sarcastically. Crystal let out a whimper. She ran with her slightly bleeding tail tucked between her legs, and soon after, the pups' mother, Blue Raven, step out.
"Why were you bullying your Den Mate?" She sharply questioned Silver. "And you three, bullying your own sister!" She gasped.
"It wasn't really us bullying her," Sweet muttered.
"Get back in the den," Blue Raven growled.
A howl rang out in the clearing, followed by a bark that made Silver's blood go cold as snow.
"Serpens, attack!"
(Bleh, this chapter sucks. Don't worry, everything will be explained.)
