buzzardsnow had followed behind duskstar, and stared in astonishment.

the camp looked the same as it had when duskstar was dreaming- the sticks, leaves, and flowers littering the forest floor.

they had some cleaning up to do... along with building dens.

but right now, duskstar was so glad to have found it, after those three long days.

"wait..." duskstar meowed, turning to look at buzzardsnow. "how did you know this was it?"

buzzardsnow smiled. "starclan told me. the hawk, you know? the hawk was a sign."

duskstar tilted his head. he didn't understand how buzzardsnow would know. "how did you know it was a sign, and not just... a random hawk?"

"it's a medicine cat thing." buzzardsnow meowed, chuckling lightly. "now... we should probably start cleaning up."

duskstar nodded, and called the small group together.

he found a small rock and hopped onto it.

"okay, i want citrinedazzle and starlingdash to collect all the sticks, and put them in a pile by this rock. we can use them to build dens later."

starlingdash and citrinedazzle nodded, and bounded away to do as he asked.

buzzardsnow stepped forward. "i am going to inspect all the flowers around here, if that's okay with you."

duskstar nodded, and buzzardsnow walked to the nearest flower patch and started sniffing at it.

turning his attention back to the remaining cats, wildflowers and ashstumble, duskstar sent them to clear any other stuff in their new camp.

"duskstar, what will you do?" ashstumble asked, tilting his head.

"good question," duskstar said, "ive decided to go and search our new territory. we will need to make boundary lines soon."

wildflowers nodded. "that's smart. stay safe out there, duskstar! if you run into any trouble, come back here instead of dealing with it on your own."

duskstar jumped off of his nod, and gave a brisk nod to the russet molly.

not like he needed told that, he was the leader- he could deal with stuff on his own!

duskstar scanned the clearing one more time- wildflowers and ashstumble were headed across the open area, buzzardsnow was plucking some purple flower, and starlingdash and citrinedazzle were pushing sticks into a pile.

he smiled. they would be safe while he was gone. after all they've been through, maybe they could survive.

maybe they can rebuild orcaclan, even after the terrible fire that wiped out the whole clan.
