Keep It

As the next afternoon came around, I waited. Having the day off, I sat across from Hamilton. My gay best friend, who sipped on his mocha latte. I looked down into the steam of my cappuccino, tapping the side of the glass with my nail. "Ok! Enough! What's scratching in that brain of yours?" Hamilton begun, breaking me from my trance.

"What?" I questioned, raising my eyebrows in alert.

"You're still thinking about that KSI guy, aren't you?" He leant back in his chair.

"His names JJ and... maybe." All Hamilton could do was laugh at me.

"So, he hasn't messaged you about the date yet?" He asked, I shook my head. "Well Dana Alexa, message him first." Hamilton bossed.

"Hell no, it'll make me seem desperate Ham." Soon as I finished my sentence, my phone buzzed twice. Looking down at my phone, a smile grew on my face without knowing. Seeing the notification saying ksi sent you a message.

"Wow, look at that grin on your face. People from the top level of the cafe could see it easily." I rolled my eyes at him, opening Instagram. I opened the dm to see what JJ said,

Hey, sorry gorgeous I haven't messaged you yet. Are you up for dinner and a drink at the Gastronhome?

Yeah that sounds great, what time?

Meet there at 6:30? I'll get us a seat.

See you then.

"So?" Hamilton sat there full of impatience.

"We're having dinner and a drink at Gastronhome." I replied, ruffling my hair out of my face. Seeing it was 5:25pm

"Hmm simple, I like it. What are you gonna wear? You have to WOW him." I narrowed my eyebrows at him. "Don't give me that look. You should wear that pink tight shirt, the one that ends mid way up your thighs and the black cross over singlet crop top." He said as I got to my feet, smiling at him.

"Goodbye Ham."

Walking back home, having the apartment to myself. Having no idea what to wear, I caved into what Hamilton suggested. Touching up my makeup and hair, I stood in the mirror. Looking at myself in the eye, fitting my skirt properly. I saw it was time for me to leave to get to the restaurant on time.

Opening my bedroom door, my body slammed against Sarah, making both of us fall backwards. Both awing in pain,I got myself up. "Where do you think you're going looking like a freaking goddess." Why's she being nice.

"Um? I'm going on a date." I explained.

"With whom?" She smirked, helping herself up.

"A guy, which you don't need to know about. Goodbye, don't wait up." I bluntly replied, cause of how much of a bitch she's been to me over the past months we've been living with one another. Leaving as I grabbed my handbag, I rushed down the stairs to the lobby. So she wouldn't follow me. The warm wind blew hard against me as I headed across the street, walking for what seemed like ages. I finally turning right down a light up alleyway. I sighed heavily seeing the big restaurant welcome sign to Gastronhome, I saw JJ standing there waiting as he looked down at his phone. Hearing my heels click against the pavement, I whistled to get his attention. Looking up, his eyes landed on me. Followed by a grin.

"Hey you, you look good." He begun, while we kissed each other on the cheek in the hello way.

"So do you."

"Wanna head in?" He quizzed.

"Lead the way." Following him in and to our table, all I could do was laugh to myself seeing him pull out my chair. "Well thank you." I said as I sat down.

"You're welcome." Pushing me in, he sat down across from me. Watching as a waiter gave us the menus, looking down at the options. I looked up slightly, seeing him doing the same as me. Biting my lip to hide my smile, a waitress came over. Ordering food and drinks, she took the menus away. "So, Dana. Tell me about yourself."

"What would you like to know?" I asked, placing my leg over the other.

"Ok, uh... any siblings?"

"Nope, only child. You?" I replied.

"I've got a younger brother, I'm the oldest." He explained.

"Do you have a photo him?" He nodded.

"Yeah." He begun, passing me his phone. I looked at the photo of him and his brother.

"No offence, he looks nothing like you." I stated, hearing a small laugh come from him.

"Yeah, but he looks a lot like my dad. Swipe right." Doing so, my eyebrows shot up.

"Oh my god! He does, you definitely have your mums eyes." I added. "What's your brothers name?"

"Deji." He said as I passed him back his phone.

"Here's your drinks." The waitress placed down my wine in front of me, watching as JJs drink was placed down. The waitress was all smiley towards him. "Uh, Hi. You're gorgeous." The woman said to him, JJ looked to me. Narrowing his eyebrows as he looked up to her.

"Thank you." JJ replied to her, while I looked down into glass. I swirled the liquid around.

"I wanted to know if you, um... wanted to head out back real quick." She became cocky, she stroked his forearm. Raising my eyebrows and pressing my lips together, my heart jumped slightly. Feeling JJs hand being placed on top of mine.

"Sorry, I'm on a date. If you can't see already, so not gonna happen." Placing my glass down, the woman's face dropped. She was embarrassed.

"Sorry, I'll go and get your food."

"That'll be great." I told her as she scurried away, looking back to JJ. I smirked. "Interesting."

"Interesting?" He smiled, with his eyebrows up. "How so?"

"Just how you handled that, out of all the guys in the world-."

"Well, Dana. I'm not like all the other guys." He stated, leaning back as our hands left one another. A different waitress placing our meals down.

"Thank you." We both told her. Throughout the night of talking, laughing, drinking and eating. I told him I would be back in a minute, to go to the 'bathroom'. Heading to the front desk, I smiled at the reception guy.

"Hi, I would like to pay for the for KSI table." I explained.

"Sure, that'll be $98. Tap?" He quizzed, nodding he passed me the machine. Tapping, I felt a presence come up beside me.

"Hey, Wait.. did you pay?" JJ asked, watching me place my card back in my purse.

"Yeah, I did." I replied looking up at him.

"No, that's not right. This was supposed to be my treat." Placing a hand on his cheek, I smiled.

"Next time." I patted his cheek, taking my hand away. I chucked my bags strap over my shoulder. JJ smiled, he looked like the air was sucked out of his lungs.

"Next time? You wanna go out again?"

"Yeah, if you want to?"

"Yeah, Of course. I'll walk you to your apartment." Beginning to take the long route home, we walked side by side near the river. Feeling the cool air, my arm went up in goosebumps. Without saying anything myself, I watched as JJ took off his jacket. "Here." He said passing it to me, taking my bag off of me.

"Thank you." I told him, putting on the over sized jacket for me. Taking my bag off of him, we continued walking. Folding my arms, JJ asked.

"Ok, when I danced was I any good?"

"Hmm, you were pretty shit." I joked, I looked up to him. Seeing he was offended. "Hey! I was joking, you were actually really good. You've got good foot work and rhythm." I explained, leaning into him for a second.

"The reason I've got good footwork is because of boxing." He burped. "Pardon me."

"You box?"

"Yeah I've got a boxing match real soon, in a few weeks." He looked down at me, seeing how intrigued I was.

"Who are you boxing?" I quizzed.

"A guy called Joe Weller."

"Never heard of him." All he could do was laugh, his loud bubbly laugh. Stopping in his tracks, he brought out his phone. Bringing up Joe Wellers instagram, I cuddled up to him. Still shivering from the cold wind, I looked at the photos of Joe. Reading from all his facial expressions and body poses. That he was a genuine dick, who manipulates people easily. "He looks and seems like a dick and someone who manipulates a lot."

"I'm liking you more the second." He kissed my head. "How did you get that from just his photos?"

"I can read situations easily, I just know people. From working with all very interesting people dancing, it's become second nature. Come on." I said dragging him by the hand.

"Why you so interested in me boxing Dana?"

"Because." I begun, walking hand in hand. "When I was younger, my dad signed me up for boxing class from the age of 7 as well as dancing. He told me that I needed to be able to defend myself, so I boxed from 7 to 18."

"Do you must be good." We both laughed. "We better have a sparring match then soon."

"Hah, bring it."

"What's your roommate like?" He asked, knowing already he shares a house with the sidemen.

"She's a bitch, to be honest." I huffed.

"Ohhh ok." He laughed it on.

"Oh, come on JJ. She can be nice, but she's a bitch. She thinks she's top shit cause daddy pays her rent, also leaves the apartment trashed. So every time I come home for lunch, the place is trashed. So I have to spend my hour cleaning." I explained, seeing we arrived at the apartment. "This is me." I stated as I turn to face him.

"Let me come up, I'll have a chat to her." All I could do was smile at him.

"Easy there tiger, I think I've got her sorted. Slowly." He smiled back, while he had his hands on my sides as I had the grip of his shirt.

"Well if you say so... I had fun."

"So did I... Oh!" I begun, taking the jacket off my shoulders. JJ grabbed it, putting it back up.

"Keep it. It looks better on you."

"Oh my god, you're too much." I giggled, seeing his teeth show in his grin. Reaching up, I kissed his cheek. "Good night JJ." Feeling him kiss my cheek back in return.

"Good night Dana, I'll see you soon." As he begun to walk away, our finger tips slowly left one another's. I bit my lip as I walked upstairs, opening the door to my apartment to Andre and Vanessa asleep. I slid down the closed door with a grin that hurt my cheeks, I played with the ends of JJs jacket. I was simply calm.
