" We need to get out of here! ", exclaimed the principal.

Everyone could see that the principal was scared, who wouldn't be? With wolves, Dire wolves for that matter, roaming around.

" We can't! ", exclaimed the principal's wife. " Not untill Animal Control arrives."

" If we don't get out now, we'll all die! Do you want that? ", he screamed at her.

Everyone was shocked at the principal's sudden burst of outrage towards his wife. They could see that she was sobbing now, tears running down her face.

"Never mind. I'll go alone. You people are too scared. "

He stood up from his chair and walked towards the door.

His wife was hystericall.
"You won't survive out there! ", she screamed at him.

She ran up to him and grabbed his hand, pulling it towards her, but he carried on walking towards the door.

" Please! Please don't leave me! I don't want you to die! Who knows what those things might do to you?! Please don't go."

He stopped, turned around, took her hands, drew her to him and said in a calm voice :
" I don't know what they'll do, but let me go and find out. Maybe they're not dangerous."

"What if they are? What is going to happen then?", she asked, hoping to change his mind.

"Then they are. I'm just trying to get us all out of here safely."

She nodded, knowing she won't change his mind. Goodness but he could be stubborn sometimes.
He gave her a hug and let go of her. He walked over to the tables that were against the door and touched one.

' She's right' he thought. ' He doesn't know what kind of danger awaited him outside this classroom, but he had to do it.'

With a deep breath and a short prayer of protection, he shifted the tables away, one by one. He took the spare backup key from his pants pocket and inserted it into the key hole. He turned it half way and stopped to hear a sound. Any sound. Nothing.
He unlocked the door, peeked through the window to make sure it was safe and opened the door.

There was nothing outside the classroom, but he didn't want to risk them creeping up behind him and entering the classroom, so he closed the door behind him.
