"Ugh!" Cassie complained while looking at her phone. "Why do we even have to do this? What's the point of this?"
   "I don't really mind..." Zach said observing everything that was happening while Ava watched the scene unfold.
   The parking lot at Lakeview high was full of parents dropping their kids off for the school's annual "lock in" that they have for the juniors every year since they complain that they don't get enough "field trips".
"At least we get to hang out with each other," Emma pointed out.
"But we have that dumb curfew at ten," Cassie said looking up from her phone for the first time since she was three.
"What time is it now?" Ava asked, finally deciding to speak.
Cassie checked her phone. "9:30,"
   "We've been sitting here doing nothing for four hours!" Josh complained.
   "Woah, hold on, you mean you, haven't been doing anything, I've been doing a lot of things,"
   "Like what?"
   "Well, for starters, I've been finishing our writing assignment,"
   Josh rolled his eyes bored. "Ten minutes till bedtime!" Mrs. Moore, the math teacher yelled.
   "Ugh," Cassie complained.
   "I have a plan!" Emma said joining the conversation. "What if we all stay up to 12 and then explore the school!"
   "Why would we do that?" Cassie asked. "We already know basically every inch of this place,"
   "Well, haven't you wondered what this place looks like in the dark?"
   "Meh, and wouldn't the lights be on? That's a safety hazard,"
   "Who cares? I'm in," Josh said.
   "Same," Valentina said who was walking by and sat down next to Emma
   "Umm..." Josh said.
   "We didn't invite you," Cassie said.
   "She can come," Emma said tiredly.
   "Fine," Cassie said.
   There was a silence for a while. "Bedtime!" Mrs. Moore said. "Lights out!"
    We all exchanged looks before climbing into our sleeping bags and pretended to sleep.
