*Get's out of hiding* Sorry that I haven't been updating and I won't promise more frequents updates. What I will try to do is to continue this story as much as I can. Anyways, I hope that you all enjoy this chapter!

- My name is Daniel, but I prefer Dan. –

- And what is your relationship with Danny? – asked Robin with a raised eyebrow and a bit of a growl.

- While I would just love to tell you, I believe that Danny-boy wouldn't like that. Besides, there are other things I want to know about all of you. – said Dan in a malicious voice while leaning forward in his seat.

Suddenly, Danny came through the ceiling and floated between Dan and the team. Danny was in his ghost form with his ghostly tail moving irritably from side to side while twitching every three seconds.

- Sadly, I do not want you to know anything about them. Now, tell me why are you here, before I start kicking your butt! – said Danny almost like a growl

- Ah, Danny-boy! I was wondering when you would get here. – Dan leaned back in his seat, once again – As an answer to your lovely question is the little memory that you must have seen in the cuckoo tower. – Dan grinned when he saw Danny paling at the reminder of his past.

- Impossible! – Danny started hyperventilating, mumbling and floating a bit higher. – He left...saying this and that...not the first time...maybe... -

All the Titans were worried but let Robin act while they kept an eye on Dan. Robin, knowing that his team could handle things, turn his complete focus on his brother and approach. At the first touch of a hand, Danny reacted the same as the time he had his nightmare. He recoiled from it but seeing that it was Robin he went closer to him and let Robin embraced him.

- Danny, please calm down and tell me what is going on? – asked Robin while caressing Danny's hair, but Danny shook his head and returned his gaze to Dan

- Why? And why now? – Danny asked quietly, and the Titans were even more worried about their newest member.

- Well, Danny-boy, you can't ignore our past. Besides, what better time to get you than now, when you have once again run away from home. Hmm? – said Dan serious and amused at the same time.

- So, are you here to help? – asked Danny with a bit of incredulity in his tone.

- Sadly, it's a condition to my freedom. Apart from the regulars: don't kill anyone, don't hurt mini-me or his friends, be nice and all those ridiculous things that you little heroes just love to preach.

- Alright – Danny looks at the Titans, gets out of Robin's embrace and stands a little closer to Dan– so I'm going to tell you what you must know and nothing else. You will not... -

Suddenly, Danny was interrupted by ectoplasm that was serving as a gag, courtesy of Dan. He stood up, transformed while getting closer to Danny and then used him as a stand. All the Titans were on high alert and Robin went to talk, but Dan didn't let him.

- Now, while I know Danny would rather keep me a secret, I'm not so inclined on doing the same, so get comfortable because it's story time. – while he said this, the others could see Danny getting pale once again. Dan looked at him for a second and told him seriously. – Do you want to continue with the secrets?

While Danny looked away from Dan, the team tried to get him, but Dan was faster. So, he grabbed Danny in a strong hug and pulled him to his lap while they both sat in their part of the couch. The team was nervous and scared for Danny, but he didn't look too surprise and only moved to be able to give Dan a look. Dan ignores him and was simply waiting but didn't stay quiet for long.

- Are you going to sit down or not? – they didn't even flinch, and Danny was getting annoyed, so he surrounded his left hand with his ice power and went to touch Dan's hair. – And are you sure that you want to do that? – asked Dan with an angry expression, but Danny looked at his eyes that were amused and kept moving his hand.

A lot of things happened at the same time, some of the members of the team let out a "manly" squeak *cough Beast Boy and Cyborg cough*, Robin looked a bit murderous – if because of Dan or Danny, it wasn't clear –, the girls were simply worried – even if Raven didn't show it –, Dan looked furious with his frozen hair – even if he was laughing inside – and Danny was grinning even with his gag. Sure, he hasn't forgotten who he was dealing with, but he trusted Clockwork and he also knew himself better than anyone else could. So, it wasn't hard knowing the limits with Dan and if he was honest with himself, he felt bad with everything that happened with Dan. Besides, logically speaking that timeline didn't occur, so no one suffered except Danny that had his memories intact of the whole event. That been said, he decided that giving him a chance couldn't be so bad and he would need his help if that man was back.

- Do I look like I'm laughing? – asked Dan and Danny nodded to the growing horror and confusion of the team – You want to say something, but are you going to stop me? – Danny shook his head.

Dan was right he couldn't continue keeping secrets if this was going to be his home. He knew Danny was being truthful and made the gag disappear but didn't let Danny go. Everyone was confused, but Danny understood the hidden message: Dan's need of comfort. Because Dan could be a sociopath, but they were the same person at some point and Danny had/was the part that Dan was missing. Fortunately, all the psychological stuff that Jazz talked about would help him immensely.

- Guys, please sit down and listen to Dan. – said Danny with complete calmness and the others reluctantly obeyed

- Well, I guess we should start from the beginning... - and with that Dan told his story

Danny heard the suffering and pain from losing his family and his other half. He also looked at how the team was reacting, and the worst was Robin's reactions. While he had a blank face, he couldn't completely control his body and Danny felt sad for causing so much pain. Soon Dan finish and no one spoke, too occupy on analyzing everything.

- Why didn't you look for me or why didn't I find you? – asked Robin while looking at Dan with sadness

- I did... - even Danny was surprised – Vlad helped me to find you, but you looked happy and that wasn't what I needed, so I left. – Robin was going to say something, anything, but Dan continues – Forget it, none of this happened, so it doesn't matter!

- But it does! – scream Danny – It happened because you were there and that makes it as real as this timeline! – the others looked like they believe the same and that made Dan laugh

- You heroes are really something. Especially, you, little me! I'm still the monster who will destroy you as soon as I can! – Danny was so done

- So, what's your plan? Wait for him to come, help me to defeat him and then kill me? If you were to succeed, and that's thinking that Clockwork won't stop you, what would you do afterwards? Make Earth a wasteland for the second time? Kill everyone and make the ghost too scared to even come to this dimension? Huh, answer me, Dan!

- You think that I won't do it? – asked Dan with an almost hidden indignation

- No, I don't think that you would do it because you already did it and you saw the results. In other words, it wouldn't be fun for you. – finished Danny finally calming down

No one moved, they were too busy analyzing Danny's words and the grin that was slowly growing in Dan's face was slightly worrying.

- Gotta admit, mini-me! You aren't wrong, not at all. – Danny looks carefully to Dan's eyes and saw a bit of conflict, they both knew that Dan couldn't be good, but he didn't think that there could be a place for him especially after knowing that.

In the end, Dan ignored what he was feeling and decided it was better for Danny to start explaining the reason why they, Danny and Dan, were in danger. When he said as much, he wasn't surprised that the others were impatient to know, but it did annoy him that Danny looked confused.

- What!?

- We? – said Danny with his head tilt to the side. Dan couldn't believe he was this dumb, but he should have expected it

- If you slip, we both fall. – were his hissed words and Danny finally understood if the paling of his face was anything to go by

- Okay, that's definitely not good. – said Danny out loud even if it was meant for himself and then looked at the others before getting a bit more comfortable in Dan's lap – Alright, so, do you know anything of what could happen?

- No, I'm here to help and train you not because I know anything about him. – Dan spat the words showing just how disgusted he felt by saying them, but Danny only rolled his eyes even if his mind was racing

- Danny, stop wasting time! All of this is obviously important to you, but we need to know what we are up against. – said Robin trying to reason with Danny instead of demanding answers

Suddenly, Danny snapped to attention and looked at Robin like he had forgotten that they were there. He knew that everything that was happening was weird and he was grateful that they were taking it so well. Danny knew that he had to come clean, but it wasn't easy. He felt helpless only remembering that part of his past and he didn't know if he could talk about it. But it was fair, they deserved to know, and Dan had already told them his story.

- I was seven when I met him. He was new to the neighborhood and his house was two streets down from the Fentons. The first time that I saw him was when he was moving in and he looked kind of cool, so I went to introduce myself and see if he wanted some help. He was kind and accepted my help. By the afternoon all the boxes were inside, and he made us some sandwiches. After that, he took me home because he thought that it would be a good idea to let the Fentons know where I had been all day. The thing was that it was a bad time for me. They were too busy with their inventions, Jazz was making more friends and didn't want to be stuck with taking care of me, and my two best friends were traveling. So, the Fentons barely paid any attention to what he said and got mad that I was causing trouble for our new neighbor. Before he could correct them, they shut the door. - throughout the story Danny seems bashful and sad - I thought that I lost a new friend, but when I went close to his house, he received me warmly. He told me that if I needed a place to play or relax at that I could come over at any time. It made me happy and for two whole weeks, I spend every day with him. It made everything else bearable until one day the Fentons just exploded. -

Now Danny was a bit mad, but Robin thought that it was directed more to himself than to the Fentons. Danny had to take a breath before he continued with his tale.

- If I remember correctly, they were angry because some of their inventions weren't working and I just happen to be there. They started to shout at me that it was my fault for interrupting their work. It was the first time that they reacted so strongly, and I was alone, no big sister or bests friends to help me. I went into panic and my mind told me where it was safe. I was running to his house without a second thought and when I arrived, I took to hitting the door instead of using the doorbell. Still, he came running, open the door, saw me and took me inside. I don't remember what happened. -

Danny scrunched his face like he just saw something that he didn't like. What worry the others the most was that Dan was making the same face, only a bit less obvious.

- Next thing that I remembered, we were in front of my house and I was calmed. The Fentons were worried and apologizing, and I just accepted it. After a few days everything was back to normal and then the incident happened. He had gone out, but I didn't know it. So, when I came to visit and he didn't come, I started to freak out. At first, I kept it to myself and merely sat in front of the door. After three hours I was pacing and when five hours had passed, they came to get me. That was when things started to escalate, and I just began to scream and cry with no control. There wasn't anything they could do to calm me down. Another two hours went until he returned, and he had to take care of me just like last time. -

By now Danny was hugging himself and looking at the floor. Robin wanted to hug him, but Dan had made eye contact with everyone and glared them into place.

- After I was calmed and the only thing that I could remember was a promise from him that he would tell me the next time that went out. Later he took me back as if nothing had occurred. Of course, I had realized that he had too much control over me, but at the time he was the only one that cared. I should have done something when I thought of that, but I didn't, and it costed me.

This time Robin got up and ignoring Dan's glare went and hugged Danny, he even sat down next to Dan and pulled Danny, so he was sitting between the two. Danny merely looked at Dan and then at Robin for a second, adjusted himself to be comfortable and continued talking.

- One day he asked me to get out of my house without anyone noticing during the night. It was a weird request, but I thought that he was my friend and that everything would be fine. So, I did as he asked. Once I was at his house, he told me to get in his car and to put on the hoodie that was in the front seat. While I was doing that he got in the car, turn it on and started driving without any explanation. I wanted to ask where we were going, but I didn't feel safe, so I kept quiet. After a while, we got to the bad part of town and I quickly put on the hood. When I glanced at him, he smiled at me like he was proud. He kept driving until we got to an abandoned building, told me to stay and left to speak to a man in the shadows. I was pretty happy when he came back with a folder that he gave to me and immediately left the place. Once we were out of that part of town, he asked me to read what the folder had, and I did. -

Danny laughed a little and looked at the team.

- You have no idea how hard it was because there's was almost no lights around us. -

Dan was the only one that reacted, with a smirk that meant nothing good he said:

- It wasn't that big of a problem, we're accustomed to the dark. -

Danny ignored him and continue.

- What I read was the info of a valuable object and its location. At the time, it didn't click immediately that we were going to steal something, but as soon as I knew I told him that it was wrong and that we needed to stop. He laughed and told me that it was fine. Once at the place, I was going to insist, but he silenced me and whispered something in my ear. The next thing that I remembered was waking up in his house and he's telling me that I did a good job and to go home. That's exactly what I did and decided to just ask him for details the next day. He told me how he had hypnotized me, that I followed all his orders perfectly and that the robbery had been successful. I didn't completely understand how bad everything was, but he was happy and told me that he wouldn't leave as long as he was happy.

Danny was silently crying, and the others looked sad since they all knew what it felt been controlled.

- Things continued like that until two and a half weeks before the end of summer because he left overnight and the only thing that I found in the house was a letter. In it were his goodbyes, some compliments, a warning, and a promise. He said that he had made it, so I couldn't talk about what we had done to anyone. Then his promise was that he would see me again, that he always looked after his friends.

- Then how is it that you can tell us? - Beast Boy had barely finished when the team was glaring at him. But Danny answered with a smile.

- He said that I couldn't talk about, so I took the letter to Jazz. She's always been smarter than anyone that I knew and got to the facts pretty fast. Jazz told the Fentons and they took me to a doctor. I'm not fully "cured" since the doctor needed the specific words and actions that he used to hypnotize me. But I'm able to talk about it even though the Fentons wanted me to completely forget. -

- That's why he's dangerous because he can still control you both. - said Cyborg

- Yeah... - said Danny slowly while leaning against the sofa.

- And you never saw him again? - asked Raven while looking at Dan, who shrugged

- I saw him once when I was destroying some buildings. It was tempting to just get close and ask him if he remembered his "friend", but I hadn't forgotten what the doc said. So, I merely looked at him straight on and blew him up. One of my best memories, if I had to choose. - answered Dan with a smile that gave the creeps to poor Beast Boy

- Then, what's his name? - asked Robin

Danny didn't say anything, and Dan raised an eyebrow while answering.

- We don't know. The name that he gave us was a fake one. It was something like loop, I think. - Dan finished quietly when Danny gave an exasperated sound.

- It was Lawrence for the neighbors, but Ranger for us.
