Chapter Five

After my "meeting", I decided to hide by the bleachers, watching as everyone started to run around. I spotted Gene after a little while, walking over to the bleachers. Deciding to meet her, I walked down. "Hey there." She said, smiling up at me. "We need to talk." I said, cutting to the chase. "I just got cornered by three ghosts." At the sound of the word ghosts, Gene's face paled. "B-bullshit... you're not serious." She stammered.

I only wish I was....

My face must have shown my expression, because Gene had a paper white face. She looked ready to bolt, but I stopped her with a simple grab of her hand. "Listen... I know... you've had a troubled past... but you need to understand... this has to be something of a misunderstanding. I bet, once class was over, all the stupid misunderstandings are gonna go away." Gene kept her eyes on me, hoping I was telling the truth. I definitely felt a little hurt, but I was telling the truth. Sighing, I walked her down the steps of the bleachers, and lead her back to the others.

(Later... in the lockers.)

"So, are ya gonna be at the game tonight?" One of the guys from the football team as we walked in the locker room.  "Of course. You guys need me." This remark was followed by laughing as I headed to my locker. I cracked open my locker, listening to the laughing of the guys. Smiling, I stripped down and changed into my normal clothes. As I was pulling my shirt down, I heard something weird.

Squeak... squeak... squeak.

Looking up, I saw the massive ceiling fan moving wildly around above me. I watched in wonder, watching as the fans path went wider and wider.

What the hell?

"TYLER! Move!" A kid yelled, before I was shoved out of the way as soon as the fan snapped. Sliding across the floor, I ended up hitting the wall, I looked up through dazed eyes as I saw the fan come down spinning on the boy, and crush him.

Jesus Christ...

The blades of the large metal fan kept on spinning, causing the boy, whoever he was, to... to... lose his head... I was struck by the warm, sticky spray of blood as his head rolled away, causing the locker room to burst into panic. Amidst the chaos, I heard, clear as day, a laugh that sounded like a child's... one that sounded like they new something was wrong, but they loved it anyways.

Don't.... no... please no..

Looking over, I saw the same boy again, but with the most malicious, mocking grin I've ever seen. Something about that smile didn't scare me... it.. it made me furious!

Hee hee hee...

That little brat!

"YOU BASTARD!" I roared, jumping o my feet, making everyone in the room look at me. The child disappeared, but I wouldn't let him get away. Swearing like a sailor, I snatched up my book bag as I ran out, chasing the boy even though I couldn't see him.

One way or another, I'm gonna kill him!

(Elsewhere...)

The boy had made it back to his home, the blue walls all to familiar to his eyes. Limping around to the side door, he snuck in, his eyes darting wildly. Hearing activity in the kitchen, he peeked his head around the corner, and saw a blonde woman cooking something with her back to him.

Good,the boy thought. Very good.

Swiftly sneaking by, the boy climbed the stairs, avoiding the ever squeaking tenth step, before heading to the attic hatch. Pulling the cord down stealthily, he climbed up into the attic, and then pulled the hatch back into place behind him.

Soon... very soon. The boy thought, making himself a little bed in some old blankets. Soon, it will be the right time to stop him...
