Bryn's POV

When I got to work. I was greeted by the manager. He seemed very angry.
"You're late," he said.
Was I? I thought I got here on time?
"Oh, I'm sorry. I'll just get to work."
Before he could respond, I walked away. I always knew my manager hated me. To be honest, I hated him to. And I don't hate many people.
I quickly put my stuff in the back room of the store and grabbed my uniform to change into. I was never a fan of my uniform. Maroon shirt with beige pants. Typical uniform for a grocery store.
Today I was told to work as a cashier. So I went to checkout 6. I didn't get very many customers, so I played on my phone most of the time. Occasionally I would get that one customer who bought half the store, but had a ton of coupons. 

Before I knew it, it was time for my break. Usually when working the night shift you get a 30 minute break. This was mine. 

I decided I would go in the back and work on my homework I had for the night. 

"Hey Lilly, It's time for my break. Can you take my register?" I asked nicely. 

"Sure." she responded back sweetly.

Lilly was one of the nice workers. One of the nicest ones here. I always liked her. Even when shes in a bad mood, shes always nice to everyone. 

I went into the back and grabbed my bag. I sat down on the old desk and pulled out my binder and grabbed my math homework. We are currently learning Tables and Functions. It was really boring, but not very hard.

After a couple problems I turned on my phone to check the time.

Good, I still have about fifteen minutes. I got back to work. Why do we have to learn this. How am I supposed to use this in the real world. Is a random equation gonna pop up out of nowhere as a password to enter a store?

After another few problems, I checked my phone again. Only this time, to my horror, I saw something being written on my screen. Dropping my phone in surprise and fear, I screamed somewhat loudly. Enough for one of the other employees, Perrie, to hear me.

She rushed in. "Are you okay sweetie? I heard screaming?"  

"Yea, I'm fine. Just got startled," I smiled a fake smile to reassure her. She walked out believing me. I turned back to my phone, that was now facing downward. I slowly pick up, hesitating. I look at the screen to see-

Help Me.

Am I going insane??

 I drop it again in surprise. Quickly this time I grab it and shove it into my backpack, realizing I have to get back to my shift. I went back to Lilly and told her that I would take the register back.

About 5 more customer came up to check out. Two of them had bough half the store. I took forever. Finally, after what felt like forever, I was told my shift was over and I could go home.

I went and grabbed my stuff not even bothering to look at my phone. I left and got my bike to start pedaling home. I went slower then normal, watching the traffic and the other pedestrians who were either walking home drunk or just walking there animal or something. Before I knew it I was home. I parked my bike and put my stuff on my chair. I quickly changed to go to bed cause I was exhausted. Pedaling everywhere really is a work out.

I crawled into bed and turned off my light. But before falling asleep I plugged in my phone and looked at the screen. Nothing. The message was gone. Was I imagining it all? Was it just my mind playing tricks on me? I don't know? Maybe tomorrow will be better. 

After that my eyes got heavy and before I knew it I had drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
