Sherbet awoke to the sound of banging. Probably just a dragon trying to harass me for being different, she thought. She got up to look. The news. Yes, dragons have news, it just involves taking the entire town of dragons and crowding them in one space while you tell a story about whatnot and do interviews. So like the News without the television.

She didn't get up. Sherbet didn't want a bunch of dragons interviewing her about her ice powers. Sherbet was different from other dragons. Most other dragons breathed a little fire (they never actually used that skill) and were mostly peaceful. Sherbet, however, could freeze things that she touched and also freeze thing with her breath. She was a whitish silvery blue instead of a beige-ish brown color.

Everyone in the town knew, but only her parents knew she planned to leave. They were fine with that because they knew how hard it was for Sherbet, and they told her of a school for Elementals. SED was its name, the School for Elemental Dragons. She planned on leaving that night. Now, as she listened to the banging and talking of the dragons, she wished she had left the night before. Ugh. She thought, I wish I was at that school right now!

Later that night, Sherbet prepared for her trip. She packed everything she owned, (which wasn't much, she's a dragon) and got ready to leave. She said goodbye to her parents and promised she would visit. Then she stepped outside.
