I was at the arcade, playing Pacman, when the apocalypse happened.

"Whoa, Lee, that was close!" my best friend Mavis cheered. "Watch out for that ghost!"

I steered Pacman away from the blue ghost and into the center of the maze. I ate the cherries, and moved from the center.

"What. Is. That." Mavis pointed. I glanced up from the game to see where she was pointing. A flock of large purple ducks was waddling down the center of the arcade, pushing players out of the way.

"I don't know," I replied, turning back to Pacman. Unfortunately, the ducks had broken my concentration, and I was eaten. Ending music played, and the words Game Over appeared. I looked back to the ducks.

The largest was pushing players into the games. As the people stumbled, they vanished.

"Mavis, I think we should go now," I grabbed my friend's hand and raced for the exit. The heavy metal grate started to come down. At that moment, I knew only one of us would make it out of here alive.

I swung Mavis under the grate just as it came down with a crash! I turned to see the ducks marching towards me. I scrambled to my feet, watching the ducks. All at once they lunged at me, and I blacked out.
