Four

Dimitri

I awoke. I tried to stand up but I couldn't. I looked to my left, nothing but darkness. I couldn't turn my head to the right, but I could move my legs. I tried to move them up but something restricted me. I looked down at them. Am I in a box? I hit my leg agents the side. Sure enough I heard the splinter of wood. Wait why am I in a box? I moved my arms. They are tingling. I can't feel them, but I can move them. I push the wall of the box in front of me. Nothing. I looked back to my left. That's what the darkness is. Wood. Dark wood. I struggle, just now noticing that the walls are just meer inches from my face. I push the wall trying to make it budge. I scream out for someone to save me, but nothing come out. I try to set my body into survival mode when I hear something. It kinda sounded like a car screeching to a stop. I could hear car doors slamming shut, and a little boy's voice crying out for someone to stop, and a dog barked. I hit the box hard with my legs and arms. Everything went quiet.

"Did you hear that?" Someone asked. I pounded again, and again.

"I think something is under the ground!" The little boy stated. I hear a grunt and someone yells at the people there to start digging. I pound my fist again, and again. I still tried to yell out to the people but I still couldn't talk. Finally I heard something scraping the top of the box. I pound once again. Then in a flash someone kicked the top of the box, and it splintered in. Ouch. Who ever just did that didn't realize this box wasn't that big, because I just got punched in the gut. I couldn't even cry out in pain. Then I saw other hands pulling the wood away from me. Sunlight flooded in. Then all of a sudden shadows were castes upon me. I squinted up. There I saw a strong looking man, probably the one that just punched my stomach in, a little boy, a girl, and a dog.

"Is he dead?" Asked the boy.

"I don't think so. He was pounding on the wood thing to get out. He must be alive." Answered the girl. "Go get your medicine kit and a bottle of water." The boy turned and ran away to do what she had just said.

"Help me get him out of there." The girl said to the man. They reached toward me. One grabbing my legs, the other grabbing my arms and lifted me out onto solid ground.

I looked to my left. I was in a field. I tried to sit up but couldn't. The man crouched down, and felt for my pulse. Then I saw the boy come back with medical stuff.

The girl grabbed the bottle of water and a towel and started to clean something off of my face. The boy did the same to my arms. It took them awhile to do what ever they were doing to me, but when they were done I felt a ton better. Well I could sit up, and attempt to stand.

"What's your name?" Asked the man. Well now that I have actually gotten a good look at him he isn't really a man, but more of a teen or maybe early twenties, so is the girl.

"Can you talk?" He asked again. I moved my mouth to answer. He turned away from me.

"He can't even talk!" He yelled at someone. "He might as well be dead to me!" I then seen him walk back over to me, pointing a gun at me. I put my arms up in surrender. Surrender to what? I don't know.

"Wait you can't kill him!" The girl yelled. The guy turned around and he lowered his gun a little.

"You can't leave me here!"

"We will if you kill him." She said. He threw the gun down. I heard a car door slam shut again, and the girl ran up to the gun and took it.

"Good, now help me get him into the car." They grabbed my arms and legs like before, but now I can feel them, and they hurt. I looked left. I was buried in the ground, about a foot down. I was left to die. Well now I knew not to get on any ones bad side again.

A car door opened and I was set inside in a sitting position. The little boy grabbed the seat belt and buckled me in. Then the dog jumped in next to me, then the boy. The girl got in the driving side, and the man on the passenger side.

"If you ever try to do what you just did again, I will leave you with nothing to survive with in the middle of no where." The girl said. I thought she was talking to me, but I heard the man grumble in reply.

She started the car, and we started to drive away. I couldn't keep my head up straight. It would roll to the side. I rested my head on the window. Then the dog stretched himself out on the boy and me, and fell asleep. Sleep. That sounded really nice right now, so I slept.
