She saved my life. My father would be very disappointed that I had to depend on a woman, but my father's not here and this is America, the land of the free. I tried to sleep, but the bed I picked had rats living in it, I think. It was scarring me. Russia never had anything like those creatures, at least not where I lived. I also can't sleep because the other guy is in my room. I really need to learn his name. So far I haven't had the best relationships with guys, they're always beating me, or hating me. Sometimes I get so mad that I'm a man, that I'm the same creatures as the evils that ruin my life, but I push those thoughts, those demons back, and hide them behind a smile. Once again I'm a pretty good actor, not to tute my own horn or anything. I smile. I look out the window, morning is coming so it's probably around five. Deciding I wasn't getting much sleep, I got up and walked into the bathroom and took a shower. If you can believe it, this was the first shower I had in America. I did the math in my head. That means I haven't showered for a week straight pretty much. Gross. After I finished showering I put my nasty clothes back on and left the room. I felt around my neck to make sure my necklace was still there. It was. I didn't have a comb or anything so I walked up to the office. Someone was actually in there. It was a young girl, probably seventeen. When she saw me she fixed her hair and checked her reflection real quick. Typical.
"Do you know where I can find a comb, and a towel?" I asked her, as my hair dripped. "And perhaps a change of clothes?"
"What did you say?" she questioned. "Your accent is so... rich, and thick, I can't really understand you." I sighed, and walked up to the counter, and wrote out what I wanted.
"Why do you write in that cursive handwriting?" she asked. Getting tired of this I just turned out of the room, and started to walk away. "Hey, wait up!" Came the girl's voice. "Are you the stranger that left this note?" I smiled, and gave her a thumbs up. I was tired of hearing her preppy sounding voice. I got to the room I was staying in, and tried the door. Locked. Sighing I knocked on the door the girl that saved me was in. It didn't take that long for her to get to the door though. I was thankful.
"Do you have a towel, change of clothes, anything?" I asked trying to not use my accent as much, it didn't work, but she seemed to understand me.
"Yeah follow me." she replied back, rubbing one of her eyes. Then she walked over to her car after grabbing her keys, and popped the trunk. Inside there was a bag of toiletries, clothes, male and female, and food. Thank goodness. I gave her a quick nod of the head and smiled. Well here I was again depending on a woman. In your face dad. I smiled at that too. I picked out a shirt and pants, and a comb. No towels, but too bad I can live.
"Uh... This is weird, but can I change in your bathroom. I'm locked out of my room." I asked.
"Sure, just go right in." she answered. I don't know anyone who is as nice as her. Instead of following me though, she stayed back at her car rummaging for breakfast, and got some clothes out for herself. I wandered into the bathroom, and changed real quick. The clothes were a little big, but now I look like I fit in a little. I grabbed the comb. My hair never looked this bad. Like for real, my hair is one of my key features. I started to run the comb through it. After about ten minutes it was looking somewhat normal. It was hard to take care of it since it almost went to my shoulders. I wish my hair was shorter, but I'll have to deal with it for a while. A little while longer the boy kicked me out to get ready, and then the girl did the same, but to him. By the time we were all done, the other guy, my roommate, had came out and was standing by the door. I could tell the girl in the office was staring at him too. She made me uncomfortable. Once everyone was done, and had something to eat, including the dog, we once again piled into the car. Every one was in the same spots as earlier, but the dog. He somehow managed to get shotgun, making the guy scoot over a little. The top was down now on the Cadillac, and the sun had almost risen all the way. I had a feeling today was going to be a good one. Before we left the girl turned the radio on. It was broadcasting something about bombings. My eyes widen in fear. Then I realized I didn't get a chance to drop my bombs, so I got lucky. Told you today was going to be good, and on that note we pulled out of the parking lot, and back onto the road.
"You know what the rule of three is?" I asked. Nobody answered so I continued, "If you save someone three times then they become yours. kinda like a slave. That means if the girl here saves me two more times, I'm all hers!" She looked into the rear view mirror, and gave me a weird look. "But if I save anyone in here three times they're all mine." I smiled. I think this conversation was going good.
"Hey what if we play a game?" The other guy said.
"Oh! What game!" I shrieked like a little boy.
"The quiet game." Oh...I thought I was starting to make us like each other more, I guess I was wrong. So instead of talking again I just looked outside, and took in America's beauty, because if I'm correct, there won't be much of America left at the end of this week.

So what do you think so far!?! Any suggestions? The idea being the rule of three is from Moira Young's, Dust Lands Series.
