Chapter Five: Yearning
After leaving the Alpha to rest in the barn, Jack restlessly paced the length of the bedroom. Breathing slow and deep, he began to state aloud to Nathan, who was in the bathroom. "I can't explain it. I just feel... Maybe I'm coming down with something? I feel feverish." Nathan yanked the bathroom door open, letting the smell of his shower fill his nose. Leaning his shoulder against the doorframe, Nathan held his towel around his waist and answered with a shrug. "I don't think you are. I've seen you when you're sick. You lay down. You don't pace." Forcing himself to stop, Jack shrugged back anxiously. "Then what is wrong with me?" Nathan's eyes drifted down his body before he sniffed the air and exhaled out with a smirk. "I think your Heat is starting." Jack's face went pale. Shaking his head, he mumbled out meekly. "No... It can't. I'm not due until the end of the month..." Moving closer to him, Nathan kissed his cheek before whispering to him. "I think the Alpha has something to do with that."
Scoffing, Jack quickly retreated from Nathan, defensively retorting. "No. Why would HE have an effect on me?" Sitting down on the edge of their bed, Nathan admitted openly. "Because he's an Alpha and we're Omegas. It's biological. Put a bull in with a bunch of cows and... they desire him. It's normal. It's how our species survives. He effects me..." Snorting, Jack crossed his arms, asking under his breath. "Then why hasn't YOUR Heat started?" Nathan smirked, leaning back on his arms when he bluntly told him. "I had my Heat at the beginning of this month, remember? I'm not due for a while. But... I feel it. The longing." Blushing, Nathan looked away and finished off. "I can't really explain it either but... it's like the wolf in me... has this hunger or an itch that hasn't been sated. I'm afraid to find out what it wants from the Alpha. It's not safe..." Jack whined a little, telling Nathan promptly. "What does that mean for us?" Nathan met his eyes with his soft brown eyes, informing him coolly. "Nothing. I'm not going to fight you for him. I can't. I love you too much. And I don't want him. I don't want to breed. Whatever my wolf wants... I won't give into it."
Moving over to Nathan, Jack nudged his legs apart to stand between them. Reaching out to grip Nathan's shoulders to pull him into sitting upright, he whispered over his lips. "I'm not giving you up for him, Nate. You're my everything. But Nate... if we can't resist him. Promise me that you'll tell me... and... we'll share him? Just to keep the other safe... in case... he's as rough as they say Alphas are." Stroking a finger under his jaw, Nathan brushed his lips over his and told him honestly. "I promise. Now get some sleep. You've got to be at the Clinic in the morning." Jack pushed Nathan down across the bed and tugged his towel off before straddling him on all fours. Nathan grinned, letting out a playful growl as he told him. "Definitely your Heat coming in." Jack purred like an engine, before lunging in to lightly bite his throat. After a night of playful wrestling and biting, they eventually cuddled up together and fell asleep. It was normal behavior for him before his Heat.
The feline part of him loved wrestling and biting before a possessive cuddle. Nathan found his pre-Heat behavior fun and teasing. Even if some of Jack's biting and wrestling got a bit rough sometimes, but he couldn't help it. It's just how his feline half expressed overwhelming affection. Marking up what belonged to him and rubbing his scent all over him. Waking up to his alarm, Jack gently licked the bitemark along Nathan's throat. It was bleeding a little from the sharp points of his feline fangs and he felt bad about it. Nathan had once told him that wolf skin wasn't as resistant to feline bites like feline skin was designed to be. Moaning in his sleep, Nathan patted Jack's leg that was possessively draped over his hip, groggily informing him. "I'm alright. I barely felt it this time. You're getting better." Jack felt his chest vibrate loudly, causing Nathan to snuggle back against him more. Reluctantly, Jack got up and whispered to Nathan. "I'll drive myself today. Take care of... the Alpha. Ok?"
Turning over. Nathan asked him uneasily. "You don't want me there when they inseminate you?" Blushing, Jack honestly told him. "Of course, I do. But someone has to keep an eye on the Alpha. I'll... I'll call you when it is done. Ok?" Nathan growled lightly but nodded and kissed his forehead. Slipping from the bed, he got dressed and made his way out to the truck. Just as he unlocked it, Nathan called out his name. Quickly turning, Jack barely caught the look of Nathan running out barefoot in ripped up black jeans and no shirt. He was going to ask what was wrong, but Nathan cupped his face and pushed him back against the truck for a long passionate kiss. When he broke the kiss, Nathan whispered to him a little agitated. "When they do it... Imagine it's me. That way... I'll be there." Giving him a sweeter kiss, he whispered back to him. "Of course. Wish me luck. In a few hours... we could be parents." Chuckling, Nathan teased back. "I don't think it will happen THAT quickly."
Sharing a chuckle with him, he kissed him one last time and hoped into the truck. Before closing the door though, Nathan pleaded to him longingly. "Be careful." Jack nodded excitedly and Nathan closed the truck door. Even as Jack pulled away, he saw Nathan standing in the driveway watching him go with a torn expression. He knew it was probably hurting Nathan to stay behind... but someone did need to keep an eye on that Alpha. He'd make it up to him later. Singing on the drive to the clinic put Jack in a good mood. He was excited and couldn't wait to be on the road to parenthood. Parking the truck, he jogged into the building with a broad smile on his face. After checking in, he waited for an hour before the Doctor pulled in into an office room. Something that made his inner animal tense. Gesturing for him to take a seat, the Doctor looked over his computer before informing him coolly. "So. Your lab work has come back. And you are perfectly healthy. You have some of the strongest eligibility for pups that I have seen here. In fact... I really wouldn't be surprised if you could have breeders."
Straightening up, Jack excitedly belted out. "That's great! Then let's begin!" The Doctor's face turned grim when he shifted to fold his hands on the table before telling him. "Sadly, we can't. You've been terminated from the Breeding Program." Jack's blood ran cold as shock set in. Shaking his head, he eventually blurted out. "WHY?! What did I do? You just said that-" The Doctor raised a hand to stop him, before informing him very casually. "You failed to inform us that you were an... Enigma. The breeding program is to save the 'Wolf 'species. You are... not a pureblood. A child from you would be a mutate. A blemish on what we are trying to do. So... Lauraine has instead scheduled you to be... fixed. So, that our society will remain pure." Launching up from his seat, Jack backed away, his voice breaking when he squeaked out in horror. "What?! You can't do this..." The Doctor inhaled slowly, then answered calmly. "I'm afraid that I can. Besides... you run a little dairy farm. You can't financially justify having a child. Your income in tied into so little cattle... and your bull is a danger to puppies. I'm sorry. You're just not what this colony needs."
Jack was torn between crying, screaming, or lashing out violently. Resulting in him, backing against the wall and shaking. The Doctor pushed a clipboard across the deck, informing him simply. "We can fix you today or a week from now. That way you can prepare properly for the surgery. Otherwise... should you refuse. You will be tranquilized and fixed by orders of the Utopian Organization. Your choice." Shaking his head, Jack finally found his voice when he snapped back angrily. "It's not a choice! I would NEVER choose this! How can you be so picky when we are on the verge of EXSTINCTION! I'm a healthy Omega! You said it yourself! I could have breeders!" The Doctor stared at him unblinkingly, when he retorted. "But your puppies would be... abominations. Any pups they had would be the same way. We are going extinct, yes. But that's why we need... healthy PURE pups. I'm truly sorry. But this is going to happen. You're just not safe. It's better this way. You'll see. Please sign and set a date. We aren't heartless."
Dragging his feet up to the clipboard, he scheduled for the farthest date, then pulled the paper off the clipboard. Crumpling it up, he threw it at the Doctor's chest, snarling out. "I'm not signing anything. You can kiss my ass." The Doctor flinched, catching the paper and unrolling it as he informed him. "Very well. Your signature isn't necessary, but you will be held to the date." Jack felt his eyes change to slits as the growl ripped from his throat upon saying. "Stop talking before I slit your throat and ram that down your neck. Asshole." For the first time, the Doctor looked genuinely terrified of him. Turning on his heel, he forced himself from the room, slamming the door behind him so hard that the windows rattled. He'd never let his Sigma side show very much... but his anger was causing his control to slip. His feline side wanted to lash out at everyone and everything. Somehow, he kept it reigned in. Upon sitting in the truck though... his husky-wolf side hit hard. Prompting him to lay over the wheel and cry.
Pulling out his phone, he struggled to dial Nathan. When he reached him, he struggled not to burst into tears when he heard him ask giddily. "That was fast. I thought it would be two hours before I heard from you. Jack...? Are you alright? Are you crying?" Sniffling, Jack told him everything in a broken voice. Then he heard Nathan shush someone before telling him. "Oh, honey... Do you want me to come and get you? I can shift and meet you there in-" Quickly cutting him off, he told him. "No. I just wanna go home. Nathan... I'm so sorry." Jack burst into tears, listening to Nathan's warm voice tell him. "Oh, Jack... I know how much this meant to you. But it doesn't change how I feel. Come home. Let me take care of you." Sniffling, Jack whined out. "Ya... I'm heading home now." Hanging up, Jack took a minute to blow his nose and wipe his blurry eyes. Taking a deep breath, he reached for the shifter behind the wheel and froze. The sigma cat purred with a dark predatory thought.
If they wouldn't inseminate him... could he convince the Alpha? Who needed some frozen sperm from decades ago. When he had the fresh source at home. The Utopian Organization wouldn't be able to fix him... if he was already pregnant. Shifting the car into drive, he peeled out of the parking lot with tires squealing over the pavement. A small part of him said he was irrational and was losing his mind, but the other half just didn't care. It wasn't fair. His Sigma side was flaring with stubborn and rebellious pride. He was not going to roll over and take this laying down! Pulling into the driveway, he shut off the truck and headed for the barn. Storming inside to Rooter's stall, he threw open the door to find the Alpha was... gone. Whirling on his heel, he rushed into the house. Nathan jumped when he burst in, asking loudly. "Where is he?!" Nathan pointed upstairs, informing him with concern. "He's in the guest bedroom. I let him shower... Jack? Are you alright?" Rushing to the stairs, he shouted back to Nathan. "I will be!"
Dashing around the railing, he rushed to the guest bedroom and flung the door wide open. Inside, the Alpha didn't even flinch. He merely looked up from drying his hair and for a moment Jack forgot what he came in here for. The Alpha had caught him off guard. He was standing by the window, where the rising sun was shining around him like an angelic aura. He was wearing only a pair of black boxers. His muscular body on full display had him purring quietly to himself. Collecting himself, he stepped inside and watched the Alpha's muscles tense subtly. Reaching the center of the room, Jack asked him in a slightly broken voice. "Am I attractive to you?" The Alpha looked him over with his eyes. For a second or two he was silent, then gave him a slow hesitant nod. Sniffling, Jack straightened him up and swallowed hard. Grabbing the hem of his shirt, he yanked it off and ordered him bluntly. "Good. Fuck me." The Alpha choked out a sarcastic laugh, before telling him promptly. "No."
Gawking at him, Jack loosened his belt and snapped out sternly. "What do you mean no? I'm offering myself to you!" Tossing the towel onto the bed, the Alpha faced him, replying coolly. "You're upset and I'm not in the mood to be used." Stomping up to him, Jack growled out in a voice that was barely holding back the pain of yet another rejection. "Don't give me that crap! Alphas love sex. Now fuck me! Or I'll make you..." The Alpha stared him down with doubt, until he sniffed the air. Stepping back from him, the Alpha uttered out coolly. "Despite what you've heard. Alphas are not raging sexual predators. And if you think your Heat will turn me into one... I hate to be the bearer of bad news... but without another Alpha present to challenge me for you. Your Heat does NOTHING to me. All it tells me is that you are ready to breed." Nodding to himself, Jack took a breath and then rushed in to slam the Alpha up against the wall by the window.
His sudden strength surprised the Alpha. Pressing himself against him, he purred out to him in his most seductive voice. "It's not my Heat you have to worry about. Now... what can I do to change your mind? Have you ever been with an Omega? Are you sure that you can resist?" The Alpha gulped, avoiding his eyes and taking deep breaths. Even as Jack trailed his hands down his sides to the Alpha's thighs. The Alphas whole body tensed, his voice distant and gruff when he answered. "Don't. I don't want to hurt you. But I will make you stop if I have to." Jack's daring moved his hand over to his crotch, teasing near his throat. "You won't be able to think by the time I'm done with you." He only just got his hand on the Alpha's semi-hard cock, before he suddenly grabbed his wrist and pulled his hand away with a strength that surpassed his own. Finally meeting his eyes, the Alpha pushed him back gently with his free hand, before ordering him seriously. "Stop. You won't turn me on like this. This isn't how I want it. Go."
Feeling compelled by his voice to listen, Jack began to cry from the bitter rejection. Turning on his heel, he ran from the room, nearly colliding with Nathan as he rushed up the steps. Watching Jack run off into their bedroom, Nathan turned to look at the Alpha for a second or two before following him. Leaving the Alpha who had a sad look on his face. Although Nathan was more concerned about Jack at the present. To Be Continued...
