VI
Percy
I was curled up on the floor at the feet of a monster. Intense pain in my upper torso had me tightly wrapping my arms around it to form some sort of protection from incoming attacks. The monster above me was one of the worst. He's apparently from space, so I'd classify him as an alien, but he calls himself Thanos.
"Little hero," the monster crooned from above me, "Why ever would you resist?"
I think it was obvious, so I didn't provide an answer. I don't think he liked my lack of smart comment because he swooped down and grabbed my neck in a chocking hold. His smelly fingers tightened around my throat constricting me of the oxygen I needed. Thanos stood up to his full height taking me with him.
I gurgled in pain as my fractured ribs were roughly moved and the hold on my throat tightened even more, making black spots dance in my vision. My hands flew from my torso to grab at the hand chocking me. What I didn't notice was the monsters other hand coming to deck me in my already hurt ribs.
I let out a strangled scream and tried to kick Thanos, but he just used his hand not currently at my neck to grab the end of my foot and crush the bones beneath. He relished in my cry of pain. Satisfied I was at his mercy he threw me away from him.
My back collided with a sharp rock and I couldn't stop the yelp that erupted from my mouth. I had barely pushed off the sharp stone when I got slammed into it again by a hand on my chest, pushing my pain limit.
I let out an agonizing scream and I'm sure a few tears slipped out. I slumped against the rock and forced out a chuckle. Some blood spilled past my lips creating a small streak of red on my face.
"Hope." I whispered.
Then I gathered all the spit and blood I had and spat it directly at Thanos face. He roared as it hit his eyes and open mouth. He recoiled and stood back, wiping my DNA off his monstrous face.
He glared at me in rage and bent down. I had just pushed myself off the rock and tried to stand somehow when my half crushed foot was swept by the alien. Barely keeping in my scream of pain, I was flipped upside down upsetting my probably crushed ribs.
I writhed in agony as Thanos slowly crushed the rest of my foot. I knew it'd take a long time before it heals and I'd probably never walk the same on it again. Unexpectedly he dropped me, and I managed to land on my shoulder and roll. Painstakingly I got to my feet, well, foot, and stood. One of my arms holding my ribs, the other held out in front of me in a stay away manner.
"Death is an aspect that would suit you well," Thanos growled, "But fortunately for you, I'm in still need of your living person."
I spit out a ball of blood. It dripped down from a random rock to make a puddle on the uneven floor. I glared as fiercely as I could at the monster who smiled sadistically at me.
"That means I have to be in your awful presence longer than I want." I sneered.
Thanos waved his hand and a force hit me, making me fly backwards against the stairs and collide painfully with them. My head smacked against the flat surface of the step, and my vision went in and out. I felt like I was underwater and everything just went slower.
"I would love to kill you Jackson. And I will once I take what I need." Thanos remarked.
He had approached me, but his being was swimming in and out of my vision. I struggled to get up, but Thanos simply bent down and took my wrist in his large hand. Carefully he gripped the finger holding the infinity stone.
Then his face formed the most angry expression I've seen. My back arched as I screamed in pain. One by one, Thanos broke every finger except the one holding the stone, bending them back slowly. I let out a cry and painfully sucked in as much breath as my broken ribs would allow me.
"That last ones who said that are wasting away in Tartarus." I wheezed out.
He laughed while heartily, before slamming his fist into my left wrist. I screeched and tried to take as many calming breaths as I could with the pain of my wrist bones shattering.
"Not even the Allfather could kill me demigod. What makes you think you could?" Thanos replied amused.
I gasped, "I'm Percy f*cking Jackson, and you're just another ugly person standing in my way of peace. Is there any other reason?"
He growled, but spit out a bitter laugh, grabbing my throat and lifting me once again. I grabbed his hand with my good one, letting my injured wrist and fingers hang by my side. My ribs cried out in despair and my foot just ached in agony as I dangled. I struggled to keep the monster in my vision as my throat began forming bruise marks in the shape of Thanos fingers.
"Don't disrespect me halfblood! I'm in control here and I will torture you until you've reached your breaking point. Then I will cross that threshold and shatter you. After that, I will extract what I need from you as painful as possible." Thanos threatened with so much confidence that a shiver to ran through my body.
I coughed horribly and more blood dribbled down my chin onto his hand, but I managed to weakly retort, "Go... to... hell."
Thanos merely grinned and leaned closer, bringing his hand to my face in a soothing manner, cooing,"That's our next destination."
My eyes widened as he stomped his large foot on the uneven ground. A huge crack formed and I could feel the pull of Tartarus as the wind whistled. I heard shouts of alarm freezing Thanos in his plummet to hell. We both looked up and my eyes found the avengers who broke through Hydra's wall.
They all stared at me in panic and concern, but fear and anger when they focused their attention on the alien gripping me by the throat. The part of body beneath my neck dangled uselessly besides my good arm the held desperately onto the foreign hand holding my throat.
Thanos grinned at them, "You're too late avengers. Little Jackson here, wishes for me to visit hell, so that's where I'm going. Don't worry, I'll take him too."
With that said, he stepped over the crack. Letting go of my neck in the process, but I knew I couldn't vapor travel. As soon as I set foot on the base, my powers were blocked by Thanos. The only thing I could do was scream in terror as I fell into the heart of my nightmares. The last I heard before darkness took my vision was the synchronized scream of the avengers above.
"Percy!"
Tell me what you think...
