Chapter 8
There was a group of young kids, standing in front of a steel door. All of them held a special item close to their chest, and a backpack hung on their backs. Two older men, stood beside a woman wearing all white. They didn't show any emotion, like the palace guards in England.
"Hello. I hope all of you had a decent ride here." said the woman in white. "If you would, as I call your name, please step forward-"
She was interrupted by a manly scream, and a girl ran directly in front of the group, down a hallway. A guard chased after her, rubbing his arm. The lady stopped him, and whispered into his ear.
"What did she do?"
"Ma'am, she bit my arm." he showed her his arm, which had a few deep bite marks, and blood was spilling out of. "Charlie bit me."
One of the men standing next to the woman chuckled. The woman sighed, "I'll have someone get her. Go get cleaned up."
The man rushed off, before anyone could tell him otherwise.
"Isn't her name Carmen?" asked a guard.
"Used to be. She earned the name Charlie from everyone she's bit." said the other.
The woman cleared her throat, signalling the men to shut their mouths. "Sorry everyone." she said with a fake smile. "My name is Ava Paige, but you can call me Ms. Paige, Ava, or simply Ava Paige."
Ava Paige then started listing names as children stepped forward, but one girl had stopped listening. She just smiled, because even though she was terrified about not knowing where exactly she was or if she would ever go home, she didn't care at the moment. All she thought about in that moment was how much she wanted to have a friend like that girl they called Charlie.
This girl stayed like this for about a minute until someone bumped her arm and broke her trance.
"Jordan?" Ava startled the girl, making her jumped.
"Y-yes?"
"I'm Ava. We're giving everyone a nickname, just between us all." she said convincingly.
Jordan nodded, not knowing what to do. She had been swiped away from her home, just so that she could go to a "safer place".
"You're new name.." Ava looked at a clipboard. "Your name is Delilah. Is that okay?" she looked down at the young girl, who was staring off into space. Jordan nodded, still daydreaming.
Ava could see that Jordan wasn't paying attention "Can you please repeat what I just said?"
Jordan suddenly realized that she was being spoken to. "I'm sorry, what?" She asked shyly.
Ava laughed "I said your new nickname is Delilah, ok?"
"Why do we need nicknames?" Jordan asked, not knowing what else to say.
"This is just a little game whe play here. Will you play it will us?" Ava lied.
"Ok, my name is Delilah." She replied .
No one was in the area other than Jordan and Ava Paige. They all had left, going off to their assigned rooms. "Delilah..." she thought. Ava Paige then led her down a hallway, taking her into a room filled with bunk beds.
"You can shower once the rest come in. There will be a new set of clothing waiting for you once you are finished cleaning yourself." with that, Ava Paige left the room.

"You need to eat Charlie." A doctor told a little girl.
She was shorter, but still average height. Charlie had golden brown hair, and tan skin from being outside so much. Her eyes were the color of a clearwater ocean, and her smile could move mountains.
Charlie shook her head, hesitating to take the food that was shoved in front of her. She turned away from the smell, that nauseated her so much she was going to be sick.
"Why won't you eat?"
"It looks like pig guts."
The doctor rolled his eyes, then took the tray of food back. "Then what will you eat?" Charlie didn't show any attention towards the man. She sat in an office chair, next to the doctor who was standing.
"Charlie, listen to me, please." he paused waiting for Charlie to look at him. "I don't want you to starve. You're here for a reason. And we all care about you."
"Then why didn't you take my brother! He deserves as much attention and care as I do!" she hissed. Charlie sat back, her arms crossed and face red with anger.
The doctor sighed, then pulled out a chair to sit in. "You aren't going to eat till you get your way aren't you?"
Charlie nodded.
"Well, sadly I can't do that for you. Is there anything else I can do for you?" he asked.
"I want to go home. I want to make memories with all of my friends. I want my life back."
"Why not make new memories here?"
"There's no one here that I like." she muttered.
The doctor stood, then left the room for a few short moments.
Charlie sat, not knowing what to do. Once the doctor came back, he was holding a black bag in his arms.
"Ok, I have a few things that might help you." he poured out the bag, and four things fell out.
A video camera, polaroid camera, a pen, and a journal.
"Why did you bring me these?" Charlie asked, with more than a hint a sass in her voice.
"They will help you make new memories. But first you have to go make new friends. Can you try to do that for me?" He waited until Charlie nodded, "Ok, let's go to your new room."
Once they got there, Charlie looked around to see a room filled with bunkbeds and some dressers. That's all she saw, that is until she noticed a small girl in the corner. The girl saw her too and after a minute she spoke up, "Hi my name is Jo.. Delilah."
"My name's Charlie."
