Jack: Thursday, 14 December

Today was just as rough - if not more - than yesterday. Because I decided to do what Emily said, I had now gained a pack of bullies who were more than happy to attempt to beat me up every time they saw me. I tried to avoid Emily at this point, so she couldn't give me more idiotic tasks.
I felt like complete and utter dirt, when I went home the previous night my mother said nothing about the condition of my face and I didn't see Mark at all yesterday, instead I got to be a homewrecker, which I admittedly feel bad about.
Wade was not my substitute today, and Mr. Gesh was back but I was not happy about that either. After all, he was still trying to convince me to do thing with him. I told him no, time and time again but that never stopped his relentless attempts.
After school, I almost made it out of the school entirely without Emily stopping me, but behind me she was calling my name. I stopped and turned to her, she laughed a little bit and then stopped in front of me. "You look awful." She commented. I rolled my eyes, I knew this. "Anyways, before you leave, I have something I want you to do."
"What is it?" I rolled my eyes.
"I just want your jacket." Emily shrugged. "I'm cold."
"That's it?" I cocked an eyebrow. I looked down at it and then back to Emily.
"I'll give it back, but I want it." She told me, that was innocent enough but something told me there was more to this than just wanting my jacket. I shed it off, well aware that I would now have to walk home in the freezing cold, and handed it to her. She smiled and walked away. I didn't even see her put it on.
I let out a sigh, and continued on my way. I was already shivering and I heard someone honk and pull over the side of the rode. "Jack? What are you doing out here without a coat?" I turned to see Bob leaning out the driver's side window. I shrugged my shoulders and it caused Bob to roll his eyes at me. "Get in, idiot."
"I'm fine." I huffed and took a step away from the car.
Bob looked at me, very unamused as he pushed his glasses farther up onto his face. "We're both going to the same place, stop being stubborn and get in."
"What makes you think we're going to the same place?" I scoffed adjusted myself on the sidewalk.
"You're not going to the apartment?"
"N-No." I shook my head, I was considering going to the same place - and knew I couldn't find it without help - but I for some reason refused to take help from Bob. "Just go, I don't want your help."
Bob shook his head but drove off, I continued down the road and it took me quite a while before I actually ended up at my own house. I opened the door and stepped in, kicking the snow off of my shoes while I sniffled and shivered.
My mother came out of the next room over and looked confused when she saw me. "What happened to you? Your face looks horrible and you're missing your jacket."
"What of it?" I muttered and walked up the stairs, I just wanted to be warm but this house was even too cold for my tastes. I slammed the door in my room and settled down at my desk. I had work to do anyways.
I started with English, struggled with science and when I came across the math I looked at it with no idea of what to do for about an hour before my mother called me to dinner. We ate in silence and what little was spoken came out of her mouth - not mine.
Eventually I went back upstairs and let out a sigh before taking my phone out and calling Mark. He answered after a couple of rings. "Hey Jack. I thought you were coming over?"
"I'm working on some stuff for school." I said and I felt my nose beginning to tingle before I let out a sneeze.
"Bless you." Mark said. "Do you need help?"
"I don't get this math bullshit that you spent the last four years wasting your life studying it." I huffed and then I heard Mark chuckle a little bit.
"Well," He said. "Why didn't you come over so I could have helped you? It's a little late now."
I didn't say anything, there was no answer for his question. I was going to and Bob even offered me a ride so I can't say that I didn't want to walk or I couldn't find it or anything. In fact, I don't really know why I didn't go over. Maybe it was because I was well aware of the fact that my face was broken to shit and now I'm catching a cold. Maybe I'm trying to detach myself so I won't have to deal with the fact that Mark was going to dump me in the end, because Emily was going to sabotage me no matter what. Maybe I deserved it too.
"Jack?" Mark spoke up when I said nothing.
"Yeah?" I muttered.
"You didn't answer my question, is everything alright?" Mark asked. I felt my stomach twist and turn with the question. Is everything alright? What a joke.. What a joke I am.
"Yeah." I sighed. "I don't know, I mean, I think everything is alright. I'm just not really up to any of this."
"Up to any of what? Math?"
"Up to anything." I replied. I ran a hand down my face and took a deep breath. "Sorry, I sound like a real baby right now. I'm alright."
"Jack don't do that." Mark sighed. "You practically admitted you're not and now you're trying to dismiss it as nothing. If you want to talk, I want to listen. I want to help you so don't just shut me out." There was a long pause. "This isn't about Tuesday, is it?"
"What?" I asked before going wide eyed. "Oh no, no not at all."
"Jack!" I heard my mother calling.
"Hold on, a second." I said to Mark before pulling the phone away from my ear. "Yeah?!" I called downstairs.
"Someone is here to see you." She called back.
I let out a groan and stood from my bed, I had my phone still in my hand and when I opened the door and revealed a smiling blonde. "Hi Jack." Emily smiled at me, she raised my jacket up and threw it at me. I pulled it off, it wreaked of perfumes.
"What are you doing here Emily?" I asked while taking a step away from her, my phone slipped out of my hand and onto the floor. She bent down and picked it up.
"Markimoo?" She laughed. "Hello? Is this Mark Fischbach?" She waited for a moment. "Yes, well, I'm going to have to let you go. Jack is a little busy!" There was another pause. "Who's this? His really good friend." And then she hung up. Closing the door behind her she held onto my phone.
"What are you doing here?" I repeated as I glared at her. "And give me my phone, you twat."
Emily rolled her eyes. "I gave you back your jacket."
"Yeah? And?" I folded my arms.
"And.. I wanted something else." Emily smiled at me. "I have a friend, who really likes you."
"Gross."
"And there's a party this Friday."
"Disgusting."
"And I want you to go."
I paused, looking Emily up and down. She couldn't be serious. "Emily, I'm not going to take your friend to a party."
Emily laughed at this point, shaking her head. "The stupid girl messed with me for the last time, so I don't want you to take her, I want you to take me." I raised my eyebrows. "So she'll see us together and it'll make her miserable. Then she'll come and apologize to me and I'll have the opprotunity to crush her like a cockroach."
"What the actual fuck is wrong with you?" I shook my head slowly.
"I want you to go, Jack. You know the consequence if you don't." Emily flashed a smile.
"Okay, fine. But why did you come all the way here to tell me this?" I sighed. "It's like eight."
"I was in the area, and I brought you what I want you to wear." She handed me a plastic bag. "If it doesn't fit, let me know by tomorrow and I'll exchange for another size. I figured I got it pretty much right. I mean, you look like you're kind of small."
"I hate you so much." I sighed, shaking my head.
"Are you going to listen, Jack?"
"Yes, just get the fuck out of my house!" I snapped at her. My raise in volume made her jump a little bit but she nodded and took a step back.
"Well, I'll text you more details later." Emily smiled before walking out of the room and hopefully out of the house. She's so.. Difficult. I won the bet, why can't she just leave me alone now!?
I had an idea though. Party, Emily will be drunk, I'll take her phone and use it to detail all different kinds of incriminating details that she could send to Mark. That way, I don't have to do what she says - I'll be in the clear.
I couldn't believe that Emily actually bought clothes for me to wear either, I was expecting something stupid when I looked at it, but that wasn't the case at all. In fact, it was a dark blue t-shirt and black skinnies. There was nothing unusual about it. Something had to be out of the ordinary.
I also looked at my jacket, expecting something to have been done to it, but that wasn't the case either. Instead, it just smelt like Emily did. In the pocket I found a lollipop wrapper but that was all. I was beyond confused and beyond fed up with what was happening. She was planning something, I just wanted to know what.

It's cold.
Like really cold.
Also every time I wrote 'jacket' I did 'Jacket' like for some reason in my head writing 'jacket' made me think I was writing 'Jack' so I kept uppercasing the first letter of it. Lol.
Rinny!
