Chapter eleven

" It's your fault we got lost!" Peter yells at Gar. " Everything looks the same out here. It wasn't my fault that our friends left is it?" Gar retorted.

" I'm still here," Phantom pointed out. " Well the girls left us here. I blame you." Peter snarled at Gar. " It wasn't me who suggested Yuyu to be leader." Gar snapped back.

" I thought you would always have my back, but I guess you're more concerned about being an idiot above all things." Gar continued. Phantom seemed a bit tense with all that was occurring.

" You think I'm an idiot for want the best for Yuyu? Wow. How selfish are you?!" Peter growled at him. " You only suggested her because you like her. Like more than you should." Gar snarled.

" You're not even making any sense right now!" Peter yelled. Gar only growled. " Why the hell is it so important that you be leader? Why can't you accept the fact that there's another person besides you an I who wants the Ghost Squad to prevail?"

Gar looked away. " You won't understand it." He responded. " I will never understand it unless you tell
Me what the distortion world is going on with you!" Peter shouted.

Phantom was hiding behind a tree. He's probably waiting it out. Waiting until we stop fighting, but will we ever stop fighting? There's too much going on. It's a lot. Gar thought as he contemplated whether or not to tell his friend.

Or his ex-friend. He wasn't sure where they stood now. He couldn't stand to tell him. It was just...horrible especially as a friend to be this way.

Peter indicated for him to go on. He opened his mouth to talk, but he was not able to say a thing. The Druddigon from before came crashing in. " You!" He roared at them.

" D-D-Druddigon!" Gar stuttered. How did he find us? He was sure none of them knew, but no one wanted to find out with that rage the Druddigon was having. The Druddigon lumbered around slowly, swatting his claws at them.

Something was different about the Pokémon. He didn't seem to be in control. His eyes were a different color. " What is going on here?" Peter asked as a Dragon Claw was brought down on him, sending him flying.

Gar gritted his teeth. This bully attacked his friend. " Yeah, what's going on here? I thought you ran away." Gar flashed at him. His eyes shown no sign of acknowledgement of what happened.

The Druddigon glared Down at him with glowing eyes. " You have been mistaken. I was planning on coming back to finish what must be done. The Ghost Squad must be destroyed! What's left must be gotten rid of!" Druddigon roared as he sank his fangs into Phantom.

Phantom screamed in pain. It wasn't super effective, but the Druddigon's Crunch was strange. It was stronger than it usually was. It also seemed to be glowing.

Something weird is going on. What the heck is with this Druddigon? " Help!" Phantom cried out. Gar instantly went into action. He was sure that the Druddigon had broken the ghost's bones by now. Yes ghost types have bones.

Gar focused all his energy on the Druddigon. Pain coursed through his body, but Gar accepted it. He always wanted to curse an idiot. Just not in the way he intended.

This was no time for jokes. Phantom could die. Druddigon screeched as he opened his mouth and Phantom rolled from it, limp. His eyes were swirled. The Druddigon flinched with pain.

His eyes opened up, and he roared, trying to swipe at Phantom once more. Wherever Peter was it was obvious he was still mad at Gar. He was no where to be found.

Gar reached out with his ghost powers to grab at his pal, pulling him back from the claws of the strong opponent. He wasn't this hard last time. What was so different then?

Then he remembered that Peter and everyone else had been there. A sharp pain formed in his gut. Now it was just him and Phantom. It was obvious the two of them couldn't even face this lone Druddigon.

Then how will we fight even tougher opponents? Druddigon roared at him in anger. " Stop delaying the inevitable! You will be destroyed!" The Druddigon roared as his claw slapped Gar across the face.

He went flying, dropping Phantom in the process. " No!" He cries out. Phantom couldn't protect himself now. Gar was his only source of protection. Druddigon smirked. I won't let you destroy us! Gar thought as he used Sludge Bomb.

Druddigon's smirk was wiped away as he cried out. He was slowly turning purple. He was poisoned. That only made the Druddigon even more pissed off. Something really weird was going on, and he wanted to get to the bottom of it.

He wasn't able to get very far with his attack. Druddigon was poisoned as an effect, but he was even more willing to kill them both. Druddigon used Flameflower.

" I won't let you kill him!" Gar proclaimed as he sprang in front of the unconscious newbie. He flinched with pain as hot scorching fire went over him. That was when Gar realized his mistake. He went right into a crossfire that he was sure Druddigon would not stop.

Gar willed himself not to faint. He was trying not to close his eyes as he faced the burns head on. He felt himself getting weaker. No! He thought as he gasped with pain.

I won't let myself die. It was just too bad his body was feeling as if it wanted to go to sleep. He staggered a bit. A Shadow Ball hit the side of Druddigon's face.

" Wha-?" Gar wondered, feeling extreme pain all over himself. A loud growling sound could be heard, and a whole bunch, a clan, of Oricorio showed up. A few started to clap their wings together, while a few used Air Cutter and Peck.

The Druddigon yelp with surprise. All of the Oricorio were purple. Meaning they were ghosts as well. The flames stop engulfing Gar. He sighed in relief. He could now feel his burdens, wincing with pain.

Peter rushed over to him. " Gar! Are you alright?!" Peter asked. Gar fell to the ground. " Yeah. Phantom is the one who need attention." Gar replied, feeling his vision ebbing away.

" Don't you worry, Gar! We will take care of this brute for you! You just stay there, and hang on okay?" Peter questioned. Was he all this time jus trying to find help? And I was trying to face the situation dead on.

Gar sighed. He knew he couldn't, nor wanted to stay awake for long. His vision was blackening some more. He tried to watch the battle. It was hard to. All he could feel was the pain his burns had brought him. Then he fainted, eyes swirling. He had closed his eyes.

Later, Gar groaned as he woke up. He was in something soft. He looked up, blinking weirdly as he saw a strange ceiling. " Where am I?" He wonders out loud. " You and your friends are in an old abandoned Pokemart." A voice said.

Gar turned his head towards the voice. It was one of the Oricorio. She blinked at him. " I see." He responded as he tried to get up. The Oricorio pushed him back down.

" You must lay down." She advised him. Gar didn't want to stay down. He wanted to know where his friends were. He wanted to know where the heck Peter found these Oricorio.

He obeyed, nevertheless. He didn't wish to feel his burns. He could still feel them. " You're very lucky." She told him. He blinked at her. " I know." He responded as the Oricorio turned around to tell orders to another Oricorio.

" May I ask where my friends are?" He wondered, trying to be polite. " Your Sableye Friend is in critical condition. Peter is out trying to find your other members." She responded simply.

" His name is Phantom." Gar informed her. " I see. You are?" She asked. Is this an introduction? Gar wondered as he responded. " Gar." " Well, Gar, I am Spook." She introduced.

He nodded at Spook. " What exactly is this? This group of Oricorio you have?" He wondered. She sighed. " My aren't you the in-quizzical one." She responded as she handed him a glass of water.

He took it. He was parched after all. " Thanks." He sighed as he looked at the glass he was sort of playing with with his powers. " No problem." Spook responded.

" So how did you come to meet Peter. Did he come for your help?" Gar wondered, thinking his hunch was true, but he wanted guidance from this Oricorio.

" Of course he did. That was very stupid what you and that Phantom tried to do alone. You could have been killed." Spook chided him. He took a sip of the cooling water.

" We had to spray human-made thing on you on the way. You know how many potions we had to use? Five! We never had to use that many on one Pokémon just to keep them from whimpering in their sleep!"

Gar flinched as a bought of pain erupted all over his body. " We were so worked up on getting you and your friend back that we forgot to treat your burns. You woke up sooner than expected." Spook continued to explain to him.

Gar continued to sip at his water. His burns still in effect. Curse that Druddigon. I hate him so much! But...there was something wrong with him. He didn't seem to be able to control his movements. Is there something deeper to this?

Something that is needed? The Ghost Squad is falling to pieces within a day! How is that possi- his thoughts were interrupted by a throat clearing. It was still Spook. " Now if you would please stay still, we would like to address your burns please."

He glimpses up, floating weakly. The Oricorio gently applied a Burn Heal to his wounds. The cool healing remedy made him feel energized. " How does that feel?" Spook queers him as she retracts her wings with the Heal in them.

Gar only sighed. She's so kind. She doesn't know me. She can be any type, yet why does she want to be a ghost type? He just didn't get that. Ghosts were one of the 'evil types.'

" Better." He swiftly responded, wondering what happened to Hurricane and Yuyu. He bet they were at the Squad by now. He hoped all went well with them, and that they didn't have as much of a hard time accustoming to being there.

He just wish they were there. It's all my fault we aren't there now. If I had stopped arguing with Peter we would have been there with the ladies. Nothing could be changed now that he was burned and Phantom had possibly broken most of his bones.

Gar felt guilty about that. If he had been quicker to help Phantom he wouldn't have broken all his bones within one swipe. Then again he wouldn't have met this cool Oricorio gang.

Gar was just glad his friends were okay, or at least from what he knew. " Good." The Oricorio nodded with satisfaction. " You're suppose to feel better. Now lay back down. You need more rest." Spook remarked.

Gar sighed. " I don't like laying down." He commented. " Make this easier for me. I'm going to check on your friend. He has at least five broken bones and a concussion." Spook informs him.

That made him feel guilty. He no longer felt like joking around. " I just wish I could have stopped that Druddigon." He sighed.

" You can't stop what is dangerous. That Druddigon couldn't stop it too, even if he really wanted to. I know someone who is being controlled when I see them." Spook commented.

" What do you mean?" Gar asked, wanting to throw up. " It means that Druddigon is being controlled by dark and mysterious force. Not even a Pokémon as powerful as him could stop it. Whoever is after you is a strong Pokémon. You must be careful from now on." Spook told him, making him feel the darkness of the situation.
