Chapter One: Leaving The Pack.

"Blue Jay! Get back here pup!" Calls a tall dark grey wolf with a white tail and muzzle. Soon enough, his pup, Blue Jay, comes running up. The dark gray offspring of this fierce alpha male trips over his own four paws as he runs to his father. Two more pups come running over that are two times Blue Jay's size. The black pup jumps on the alpha's back as the white one sits in front of the older wolf with a wagging tail. "Papa! Mama wants you!" The white one calls with her tail wagging so fast she doesn't notice it waking Blue Jay in the face. "Thank you for letting me know Tiger Lilly." Her father replies. "Now get off me Storm Cloud!" He calls to his son who has taken a seat on his father's back. The all black pup falls off and their father walks up. "Tiger Lilly! Storm Cloud! Wanna play?!" Blue Jay asks his siblings as he gets into the play pose, jumping around. "Play with a runt?! We might squish you! Your to to tinny!" Storm Cloud says. Blue Jay bows his head. Tiger Lilly shakes her head then steps on Storm Cloud's tail. "Yeee Owe!" Storm Cloud hollers. "What our dear litter mate means to say...." Tiger Lilly says with a glare to her younger brother. "Is that we play a little to roughly for you. With how frail you are we're afraid of hurting you. Besides, what about your friends.... What were their names again?" She says to Blue Jay with a soft smile. "Their names are North Rose and Night Sky." Her baby brother says.

After that, Blue Jay just walks away with his ears folded back and his tail against the ground. "They never give me a chance! Just because I'm the youngest and a runt doesn't mean I'm any less of a wolf then they are!" Blue Jay says to himself aloud. He sighs then runs as fast as he can.

 When he crashes into a tree, several small voices are heard laughing. "Oh wow! It's bird boy!" One calls. "Isn't he the alpha's runt?" Asks another. "He has some nerve coming to the pit!" Angrily calls another. "His parents may be the alpha pair, but that doesn't mean anything!" Yet another calls. "Yeah, Tiger Lilly will be alpha female one day and Storm Cloud will be the beta, but once a runt.... Always a runt! I don't know why they even feed him! Runts only ever become omegas anyways!" Yet another calls. Blue Jay starts to hyperventilate. He hadn't even known he was headed for the play pit. He looks up to see a blue jay looking down at him from a branch. The vary bird he was named after seeming to mock him as it flies away to freedom.

Blue Jay turns around to face the bigger pups. He looks, but finds no way to run off. He's cornered. He looks in the back and spots his littler mates. The two look at him with sad eyes then walk away. He lets the tears fall from his eyes. "Look at that! He's crying! What kind of alpha born cries?!" Calls a dark brown pup. The next thing they all know, two more pups come barreling through. They jump in front of Blue Jay and growl at the other pups. Both the same size as the pup their protecting, they bare their teeth to show they mean business. "Stay away from our friend!" The male pup calls. Only a shade lighter then Blue Jay, the dark grey pup looks ready to pounce. "Yeah! Back off or I'll make you!" The silver coated female runt calls with a growl. "Night Sky! North Rose! What are you two doing here?!" Blue Jay asks. "Protecting our friend!" They call in unison. The other pups don't stop. Night Sky is about to pounce when Storm Cloud steps in front of him. "Calm down Night Sky, you'll get in trouble again." The black pup says, then turns to the other pups as his sister walks out. "Now you all listen up! You leave Blue Jay and his friends alone right now!" She calls with venom in her growling voice. Just as one seems about to speak up, the alpha female walks over with her pure white coat. "I have summoned your parents, you will each receive a punishment!" She calls in a smooth voice.

The alpha female next looks to her pups and their friends. "Thank you for alerting me, Storm Cloud, Tiger Lilly" She says and they bow to their mother. "And thank you Night Sky, North Rose, you two are such great friends to my Blue Jay and I appreciate it. Your parents will know of your great deeds." She says and the two bow to their alpha female. She then walks away as the five pups run off. "I thought you two had abandoned me!" Blue Jay yells at his litter mates when they get far enough away so no one can over hear. "We were just getting mama." Tiger Lilly tells. "Yeah, we really didn't want to leave you there, but when Tiger Lilly spotted your friends running over, we knew you'd be safe..... It was still hard though!" Storm Cloud explains. "At least one of you should have stayed with him!" North Rose yells. When her glare reaches Storm Cloud, he bows his head in defeat. Tiger Lilly rolls her eyes. "I am well aware, but mama never believes Storm Cloud if it's just him because of all his pranks, and I wanted to keep him out of trouble. You know how protective he is." The white pup explains. They all nod and Storm Cloud rolls his eyes. The five laugh.

~A few months latter~

"Oh! I can't believe it's been one whole human year since you three were born!" Gushes the alpha female as she looks over her three juvenile pups, though... Not pups anymore. Blue Jay is still significantly smaller then his litter mates, but is still obviously now his kinds version of a teenager. The three roll their eyes then run out of the den, happy to go see their friends. Blue Jay jumps around with Night Sky & North Rose as the three howl of joy. "Oh! Let's go hunt!" Calls North Rose. Her two best friends nod in agreement and the three race off.

After the hunt, they laugh and walk back to the pack. "That was fun!" Calls Night Sky. "A total blast!" Calls North Rose. "Amazing!" Shouts Blue Jay. When they get back, Night Sky is called over by his parents, and North Rose goes home to do chores. "Hey Bird Boy!" Calls a dark brown male Blue Jay's age. "What do you want River?" Blue Jay asks. "Just to have some fun." Answers a light brown male. "Leave me alone Moose!" Blue Jay barks out in fright. Soon enough, more young wolves come over with sinister looks. Blue Jay's eyes go wide. His tail tucks between his legs and he tries to run away, but Moose pins him down. Sinister laughter is heard as tears fill Blue Jay's eyes.

~Time skip to an hour later~

Blue Jay stands up off the ground on shaky legs. Only four wolves his age don't maul him every chance they get, and their busy theses days. He hated it. He just wanted to get away from it all.
The next day, Blue Jay visits the pack elder. An old she wolf with sandy blonde fur. "Oh great elder, may I ask of you a favor?" Blue Jay asks her with a bow. "Come forth young meek. What is this favor you speak?" She asks him. "Dear Elder Willow Tree, I ask if you may give me some guidance." He says. "Why does a foul need a guide? When all he should do is glide?" She asks. "My life is full of misery. I wish for freedom, but do not know where to go." He answers. "I have seen your future in a dream. For you I see a great team. Go to the humans and live among them. Only then a life happiness will you trim." She says. Blue Jay looks up with wide eyes. "Enter human civilization?! No Eternal Wolf has done that since the dawn of time!" Blue Jay shouts in surprise. "Tis only in the humans heart, with sorrow you will part." She says. Blue Jay bows his head. "Where should I start?" He asks. "Go to our great protectors, they will help you, the great collectors." Blue Jay nods then turns to leave her den. "Thank you Elder Willow Tree." He says as he exits.

He tells his family & friends of his leaving. "We'll miss you Blue Jay." Says Tiger Lilly with tears. "Come back someday ya runt!" Storm Cloud demands with tears in his eyes. "Don't let any humans push you around!" Says North Rose with a growl to her voice and tears streaming down her face. "Remember to pop in from time to time." Night Sky says, trying to hold back his tears. "Good luck my boy." His father, Day Break, says. "And remember, you'll always be a part of this pack." His mother, North Star, says in her usual composed manner. Blue Jay lets a tear roll down his face as he turns to walk away. He knew he'd miss them, but he also knew he had to do this.

~Time Skip to when he reaches the great protectors~

Blue Jay walks up to a giant rusty gate and reads what the sign says. "Ed and Edna's Scrap and Junk?" Blue Jay says. He walks through the gate and up to the door. He scratches and an older woman opens up. "Oh, are you one of the Eternal Wolves?" She says. He nods. "Yes, Blue Jay of the Deep Woods Pack." He answers. She nods. "Well don't you know how to turn into your human form Blue Jay?" She asks. He nods again. "I do, but I haven't since I was a pup." He answers her. "Well you can't fit in here like that boy!" She says. "He laughs nervously then turns human. (A\\N: Picture Jay Walker, just with dark grey hair.) "Now that's better!" She says.

Once inside the trailer, the two sit down and an older man walks over to join. "So, what brings ya here son?" He asks the wolf. "I have been told by Elder Willow Tree to enter human civilization." He states. They nod. "Well then. You'll need to die your hair, only human elders have grey hair." The man says. "Ooh! And we'll need to forge a birth certificate for him! He'll also need clothes and a place to stay." Says the woman. "Sorry, but... May I ask your names?" Blue Jay asks. "I'm Ed, and this is my wife, Edna." The man explains. Blue Jay nods.

By the end of the day, Blue Jay's legal human name is Jay Walker, his hair is died caramel brown (A\\N: Now picture actual Jay from show.), and his birth certificate states that Ed & Edna are his parents. Blue Jay thanks the couple then goes on his way after a week of studying human culture with them. He had a feeling that life was going to take an exciting turn for him some day.
