Case 7

I don't own the picture.

Lincoln sat in the cell with two adult men (get your mind out of the gutter if you think something 18+ will happen), who seem to be confused. Not like he could blame them if they were also kidnapped by these...alternates. He has never heard anything about them yet they seem to have existed for several centuries and have been hunting people. A fact that made him fear for the safety of his family and friends who are unaware of the danger coming their way.

"Ugh. This is a nightmare." One of the men, Mark, said with a groan. He couldn't disagree with what he said since it truly was a nightmare. However some part of him thought that it was better than staying outside in the cold weather and being treated less than an animal. Sure, a huge majority of his family tried to help him...however that was a difficult thing to do. His so called parents and older sisters along with Lola truly believed that he was bad luck which made no sense to any normal person. If he was bad luck then why didn't anything terrible happen during those other times that he went to their events? Besides his sister played the same way every time so why couldn't she realize that anyone would have studied her or come up with a better game plan? His thoughts were cut off when the other man started to speak.

"If we just do what they say then maybe...." The other man said before Mark scoffed.

"There is no hope of escape. You know how relentless they are when they get their newest target." Mark yelled.

"Calm down, you're probably scaring the kid." The second man said before turning his attention to Lincoln. While Mark slowly started to calm down, but was still anxious.

"Sorry. Anyway, kid...you don't know much about alternates, don't you?" Mark asked.

"I truly don't. They never covered anything on the news about them so...." Lincoln started to say before noticing that the two men were staring at him with amazement.

"They don't tell anyone about them?" The second man asked.

"No. Until today, I have never heard anything about them. I just remember being in my backyard before someone wearing a black hoodie approached me." Lincoln stated.

"Wait, that person tall and had a pale face?" Mark asked. Lincoln nodded before Mark sighed before speaking again.

"That thing is responsible for the disappearances of over 3,000 children and seems to be working for those alternates. This is bad. If it starts doing what it pulled in 2009 then who knows how many children will be stuck here with us." Mark said.

"Sigh...even if we know that how can we stop it from taking those kids? Think about it, we are in an undisclosed area with who knows how many alternates walking the halls. Not to mention that they said that the kid is an apprentice meaning that they will keep a close eye on us." The second man said.

"I hate to say that you're right. Anyway...isn't it time that we knew each other's names?" Mark said.

"I'm Jonah Marshall." The second man, Jonah said.

"Lincoln Loud." Lincoln stated.

"Mark Heathcliff." Mark said.

"Wait, are you related to Sarah Heathcliff?" Jonah asked.

"Yes. She's my younger sister." Mark said.

"Okay. She could possibly help us though...I'm not sure how she could. Mainly cause she has no idea on how to defeat or even kill alternates. Not to mention that it's easy for them to gain the upper hand." Jonah said.

"Wait...Would it help if she had help from a four year old super genius?" Lincoln said.

"A how old super genesis?" Jonah said. After this, the trio started to form some sort of plan knowing that it had plenty of risks. However at this point...it's clear that risks should be taken to help stop the alternates of taking over. Though they had to face more problems and issues before any sort of rescue could occur.

Speaking of Sarah, she was driving down the road while thinking about her brother's disappearance. She also thought about Jonah's and Adam's disappearance was well since it was too much of a coincidence that the three disappeared around the same time. The alternates were planning something and she needed to find out if someone else was also taken away as well.

"I hope that things get clearer before everything goes wrong." Sarah said. Knowing that this wasn't going to be good for anyone. She hoped that some sort of miracle would help stop the alternates from their evil deeds...

Thought that help would be surprising to her and the other members of Bythorne Paranormal Society.

Hope you enjoyed the chapter...Bye 👋
