Chapter 19
Having food poisoning stinks.
Almost 4 days after I stopped throwing up I still felt like crap.
The only good part was Isaac rarely left my side.
I'm going to dinner at his house today with his family and to tell you I wasn't nervous would be a complete lie. I was freaking out so much and sadly Misha was busy so I had to resort to Chris to help me get ready.
"I like the other one better." He told me. To be honest I liked the other one better too. So I decided to wear a teal blue dress with the creme colored belt.
I had already done my hair and makeup so once I found my silver flats I was ready to go.
"You look beautiful." Chris said and he wrapped me in his arms. Some of my nervous butterflies went away and I melted into him. He smelled like milk chocolate, I don't know why but he did.
"Thank you." I mumbled into his shirt. He kissed the top of my head and I heard the doorbell ring.
"I'll walk you down." He grabbed my hand and we walked down the stairs together.
I opened the door and Isaac was standing there in black dress pants and a white buttoned down shirt tucked in. He held out a bouquet of purple flowers to me and smiled.
"You look beautiful." He said taking my hand.
"Thank you."
"Alright you two go and have fun, but make sure she's home on time." Chris narrowed his eyes at Isaac.
"And what time would that be?"
"3 a.m."
"Wow." I said rolling my eyes.
"I don't know Chris, that might be tough. Dinner at my house with my parents gets pretty crazy."
"I'm warning you." Isaac laughed and led me to his car. He opened the door for me before walking around to the other side and sliding into the driver's seat.
"So is Chris playing the big brother role?"
"I guess so." We both laughed and Isaac turned on the radio.
I started singing along to a song that I liked and Isaac stared at me when we were at a red light.
"What?" I asked
"I didn't know you could sing."
"I can't."
"Oh yeah, of course." He scoffed
"I'm serious. I can't sing."
"You're a really good singer, a great singer." I blushed and looked away.
"I know you're blushing and I find it incredibly adorable how clueless you are about how good you can sing."
"You're so mean to me."
"I am not." We pulled into the driveway of Isaac's house and I wasn't surprised to see it was a lot like the Meyers' except a lot smaller. Don't get me wrong it was still huge, but considerably smaller than he Meyers' which was absolutely ginormous.
We walked up to the front door hand in hand and when Isaac opened the door an older lady with black hair was there.
"Hello dear." She hugged Isaac and kissed him on the cheek. This must be his mother.
"Hi mum. I'd like you to meet my girlfriend, Abby."
"Oh hello darling! You're so pretty!" I blushed as she pulled me into a hug.
"Hello Mrs. Crawford, nice to meet you."
"Oh darling, call me Marie."
"The dining room is this way." Isaac led me to a room with a large oak table. The smell was absolutely wonderful.
A boy a little bit shorter than Isaac came into the room and held out his hand to me. "Hello, I'm Justin, you must be Abby."
"I am, nice to meet you Justin."
"Wow Isaac she's even prettier than you described." Isaac gave Justin a look and he immediately was quiet.
I laughed and another man came into the room though he was considerably larger than Isaac and Justin and had a scruffly beard.
"Dad this is my girlfriend, Abby."
"So you're the famous Abby." He had a booming voice but also a kind smile so I gingerly stuck my hand out for him to shake.
"Nice to meet you Mr. Crawford."
"Oh please, call me Michael." He shook my hand lightly and Marie brought in a bowl of something and told us all to sit down.
I sat next to Isaac and Marie and Michael sat across from us, Justin sat on the other side of Marie and she said grace.
"I hope it tastes alright, I didn't know what you really like dear." She gave a pointed look at Isaac who sunk back into his chair.
Marie made chicken and noodles and I thought it was amazing.
"This is really good Marie." I said after a couple minutes of silence of us just eating.
"Well thank you Abby, it's one of Isaac's favorite." I looked at Isaac and he interlocked our fingers under the table.
He smiled at me and we continued eating.
After dinner we stayed at the table and talked for awhile. I think that both of Isaac's parents really like me, I think Justin even likes me and apparently he is friends with the twins and has been over multiple times since I moved in. I'm really not observant.
"Thank you for dinner Marie, and thank you for inviting me over." I said as Isaac and I stood on the porch.
"Oh no problem deary, come over any time!" She gave me one last hug and Isaac and I walked to his car.
He opened the passenger door for me and then climbed into the driver's seat.
"Thank you." He said once we started driving.
"For what?"
"For meeting my family."
"Isaac it was nice, I really enjoyed it."
"Really?"
"Yes. Now you have to come to the United States amd meet Brittany and Danny."
"Trust me, I will someday."
A couple minutes later and Isaac and I were coming through the front door but luckily no one was around so we silently made our way up to my room.
"Do you want to stay over for a little while?"
"Sure." He said. He plopped down on my bed and I went into my bathroom and changed into sweatpants and a T-shirt.
When I came out Isaac was lying on my bed facing me.
"Well don't just stand there, come here." He said laughing after a couple of seconds.
"Maybe I don't want to."
"Well then I'll make you." He launched himself at me and I felt his hands close around my waist. He lifted me into the air and I couldn't help but let out a stream of giggles.
"Isaac!" I squealed. He carried me over to the door and locked it and then dropped me on the bed.
I didn't move as he climbed over me and I'm pretty sure I stopped breathing when his lips were less than an inch away from mine.
"I love you Abby."
"I love you too." His lips touched mine and I felt his one hand find it's way to my waist and gripped it firmly.
It was a slow kiss and then Isaac slipped his tounge into my mouth and I gladly accepted it. He flipped over so our bodies were pressed against each other and I was on top of him. I pulled away and he groaned as I straddled him.
"Are you okay?" He asked breathlessly
"I'm perfectly fine." I bent down and kissed him again, more passionately this time and let out a quiet moan. Isaac's hands ventured up under my shirt and gripped my bare waist in his hands. My fingers toyed with the button of his shirt and he groaned as I began to unbutton it. He sat up with me still straddling him to slip the rest of his shirt off and then flipped over so he was on top of me again. My hands roamed around his bare chest and I felt the pace of the kiss quicken.
Isaac pulled away and started peppering kisses down my jaw and neck. He stopped and I groaned as he started sucking on a certain spot on my collar bone.
"You're so beautiful." He whispered huskily when he let go. His lips found mine again and he entangled his hands in my hair lightly. He was playing with the hem of my shirt and then started pulling up but hesitated. I let him know it was okay by kissing him even harder.
I didn't want this to go all the way, it's too soon, but I didn't want to stop either.
Isaac stopped kissing me only to help me lift my shirt above my head and stare at my bra-clad chest.
"What?" I asked breathlessly. I was starting to get worried because he was just staring at me.
"How did I get so lucky?" He bent down and smashed his lips into mine and groaned loudly. I was afraid that one of the guys would hear but they have probably done stuff way more than this.
"Isaac." I gasped as his hands played with the clasp of my bra. "I don't want to do this." He nodded and kissed me again.
After kissing and making out for a long time we decided to watch a movie.
I'd never seen it but Isaac said it was good so we put it in and climbed under my covers. Our legs were tangled together and my head was laying on his bare chest as he held me by the waist close to him.
After we had decided to watch a movie I grabbed a shirt from my dresser and slipped it on much to Isaac's disappointment.
Isaac had texted his dad and told him that he was staying the night here. So after about an hour I felt my eyes close and I fell asleep in Isaac's arms.
~°~°~°~°~°~
I woke up before Isaac but didn't move so I wouldn't wake him up.
"Morning." He mumbled a couple minutes later.
"Good morning." I sat up and kissed his lips quickly.
"You seem to be in a good mood."
"Why wouldn't I be?"
"I have no idea." I smiled but practically jumped out of my skim when there was a loud bang on my door.
"Abby!" I'm honestly getting sick of Chris doing this.
"What is his problem?" Isaac asked laughing
"I don't know but he does this almost every morning."
I got up and stormed over to my door and flung it open.
"What?!"
"When did you come home last night?"
"At like 11:30, why?"
"Do you have something to prove it?"
"Yeah Isaac and his parents."
"Not Justin?"
"Chris what do you want?"
"I'm just watching out for my little sister."
"Well I appreciate the gesture but please go away."
"Who's shirt is that?"
"Um-"
"I'M GOING TO KILL HIM!"
"Chris, calm down, nothing hap-" He tried to push past me but luckily I was still holding on to the door so he didn't get very far.
"Where is he?!"
"Chris calm down and give up the act for goodness sakes, you know nothing happened. And this is my shirt."
"But is he in here?"
"Yes."
"So will he want breakfast?"
"I would assume so."
"Chocolate or plain?"
"Hey Isaac?"
"Yeah?"
"Chocolate or plain?"
"Plain."
"Plain." I told Chris and he nodded and left.
"Well that was crazy." Isaac said
"That was ridiculous."
"That too. How did you know he was acting?"
"Because I'm older than him." I laughed, "Come on, let's go get something to eat." We changed and went down stairs where everyone, and I mean everyone, was there.
They were all sitting at the huge table in the dining room that I had never seen full before.
"Good morning Abby." Paul greeted me.
There was something off about what was going on but I couldn't quite place it until Isaac got a huge grin on his face and gave a guy I don't think I've ever seen before one of those weird guy hugs.
"Hey Isaac, how's it going?" The man said. He looked really familiar but I couldn't place where I've seen him before.
"Abby I'd like you to meet my second oldest son, Matthew." Matthew! That's where I've seen him before, I saw him in a couple pictures around the house before.
"Nice to meet the oh-so-famous Abby." Matthew laughed and hugged me gently. "It's great to finally meet you."
"It's great to finally meet you too." I said into his shirt, he smells like cinnamon.
Isaac and I took a seat at the table and we all ate some pancakes while Matthew told stories about college and caught up with his brothers, Isaac reached underneath the table and wrapped his hand around mine.
"I was thinking we could all go to Hyde Park a little later today and hang out as a family, we haven't done that in awhile." Paul said as people started getting up to put their plates away.
"What about Drew though? He's not here." Matthew said sadly
"Well then it will be an almost-full family day." Paul laughed
"Can I bring Hayden?" John asked which was weird beacuse he's usually really quiet. Him and I have only spoken a couple of times since I've been here and it's almost been over a month.
"Of course, I haven't really seen her around though, is everything okay?" Paul asked and I wondered who Hayden was.
"Yeah, her and her parents took a vacation to France for a month. She got back a couple days ago."
"Well, yes of course bring her. Isaac and Justin can come to." I smiled at Isaac and we both left the dining room and made our way back to my room.
"I'm going to go home and change, want to come with me?" He asked
"I'll stay here and maybe freshen up a little bit."
"Alright." He kissed my lips gently. "I'll see you in a little while."
He left and I took a short shower before getting dressed in jean shorts and a tank top.
"Hey Abby?" Someone called from the other side of my door.
"Yeah?" Kenny opened the door and stepped inside.
"I need to ask you a question." He looked kind of upset.
"Yeah, of course, what's wrong?"
"Well you're a girl."
"I've noticed yes."
"What I mean is, well, my girlfriend broke up with me."
"Kenny I'm sorry." I didn't even know he had a girlfriend.
"And she told me it was because she needed space because she was stressed out or something. I don't know what that means in girl talk or what I should do."
"Well maybe the end of school and the start of college was stressing her out."
"She did say that awhile ago."
"Well that might be it or maybe something personal, or drama, or her parents or something."
"But how do I know if she wants me to give her space?"
"If she said she needed more space I think you should give it to her. Just let her sort things out for a little while and once she figures things out she'll come back if she wants to."
"If she wants to?" He asked frantically
"Well she didn't say that she never wanted to see you again, she just said she needed space but girls are very deeply layered creatures so you never know to be honest."
He laughs so hard that he slides to the floor before continuing.
"So if we actually had something she'll come back once she's figured stuff out?"
"Most definitely."
"Thanks Abby, you're the best." He gets up off the floor and wraps me in a tight hug.
"Anytime, Kenny." He kissed my cheek and I felt my face go hot.
"You're adorable."
"Get out." He raised his hands in defense and left.
I did my makeup quickly and left my hair to air dry before going down stairs.
"Abby!" I'm really popular today.
"Yes?" I turn around and John is standing there with a girl I had never seen before. She was pale and had black hair that was curled. She was wearing shorts and a T-shirt and had a big smile. She was beautiful.
"Abby, this is my girlfriend Hayden."
"Nice to meet you." She stuck out her hand and I politely shook it.
"Nice to meet you too."
"John has told me so much about you."
"Good things I hope."
"Great things." John grabbed her hand and said,
"We'll see you later Abby."
"Alright."
"Nice meeting you!" Hayden called
"Nice meeting you too!" I called back.
Two new people in one day, wow.
I continue to make my way to the kitchen when someone wraps their arms around me and lifts me into the air.
"You look cute." Isaac said spinning me around.
"It's one of my special talents." I said as my giggles filled the air.
"Well I like it." He stopped spinning me but still held my back against his chest with my legs dangling a couple inches off the floor. He kissed my cheek and said,
"We should go out to dinner after the park."
"Where to?"
"I have no idea, just somewhere where we can hang out alone."
"Eating at a restaurant isn't alone."
"Eating at a restaurant isn't alone." He mocked me.
"Well it's up to you."
"Of course it is." He spins me around in his arms and presses my back to the wall behind me. "Technically we're alone right now." He whispers in my ear.
"We're in a house full of boys and a little girl, we are anything but alone."
"Well I know where we can be alone." He wraps his hands around my waist and throws me over his shoulder.
"Isaac! Put me down!"
"Shh, or someone will hear us."
"Where are we going?" I ask quietly
"I have no idea, I just planned on getting lost."
"Lost?"
"Yeah, lost. Sometimes it's fun to just get lost and work to find your way back." He walked around for what felt like another ten minutes before he put me down in a room that I had never been in. There was a loveseat under a small painting and a bookshelf with a lot of books on it.
"I love you so much." I said to Isaac and then I stood on my tippy toes to kiss him.
We kissed for about 30 seconds until Isaac pulled away and interlocked our hands.
"This isn't the place."
"It isn't?"
"No." He walked to a door in the corner that I hadn't noticed before and I followed him.
We walked through a couple different rooms until we reached one that had another loveseat but no bookshelf.
"This is the one."
"It is?"
"Yup." He pressed his lips to mine and we sat down on the loveseat together.
~°~°~°~°~°~
"Alright everyone, go off and do your own things but be back by six because I'm going to make hotdogs and hamburgers." Paul said as we were all congregated around a large tree in the middle of Hyde Park.
"Let's go to the play set." I told Isaac.
"Why the play set?"
"Because I want to swing." He let me turn him around and I jumped on his back. "To the play set!" Isaac started running toward the play set and I saw Gracie running along side us.
"I want to come!" Gracie said
"I don't know if you're cool enough." Isaac retorted
"I'm cooler than you!" Gracie said with a triumphant smile.
"You have a point, you are cooler than me. So if I'm going then you can definitely come." He said matter-of-factly.
"Yay!" Gracie ran off to climb all over the play set while Isaac walked us over to the swings.
I jumped down and sat down on one of them and Isaac came around to the back of me.
He wrapped his arms around my waist and squeezed gently. He rested his chin on my shoulder and we both watched as Gracie ran around on the play set.
"Kids are so cute." I said to him
"Most of them."
"True." I looked up at him. "Can you push me?"
He laughed but still started gently pushing me. "You're like a child."
"Am I a cute one?"
"I haven't decided yet."
"How rude." I pouted. "Well I think you're not a cute teenager."
"That hurts, I might cry."
"Like a child?"
"Exactly like a child." I laughed as he gave me one last push and then started swinging on the swing next to me.
When everyone had gotten together and we finished eating we all started a game of "football," or soccer as we say it back in America.
Kenny, Isaac, Alex, and I were on a team together and we won because Kenny is absolutely amazing at football.
After the game it was starting to get dark so everyone started to leave and Isaac said that he wanted to take me somewhere.
Where exactly? He wouldn't tell me, just that we were going there right from the park.
When Isaac pulled up to a different park I was definitely confused.
"Why leave one park to come to another?" I asked while laughing
"Because we're the only ones in this park and we're not surrounded by your family." He said as he took a picnic basket and blanket out of the trunk.
"My family?" Then a thought occurred to me. I am part of the Meyers' family. They were my family. I had a family. I still have trouble wrapping my mind around that.
"Oh Abby I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"
"It's fine Isaac." I gave him a huge smile. "You're right."
