Chapter 5

Annika was more than happy that day. She was skipping her steps all around her cabin. Finally, like finally, her husband had asked them out on honeymoon and they would be flying there this evening! She thought she would never go for a honeymoon like how it happens in the TV series which she and Saumya used to watch. The couples would be married for over than 2 years, but all they do would be solving the problems in the family, one by one, with every new villain's entry, then they go on an exile, only to be stalked by the ultimate villain of the entire series and then, when happiness was finally knocking in for them, it was unceremoniously killed by the creatives. She took an oath to never watch any Indian TV series anymore. Her frustration was beyond what words could express.

When she had mourned for the undeserving end that her favourite characters begot, Shivaay had tolerated all the tantrums. It was in fact the first ever time that she had been so expressive about her feelings, as she lived the characters. She wasn't just in love with them. Shivaay had even went to the extent of phoning up the producers and TV channel and had a petty negotiation with them, but it was all in vain. The effort he took that mattered to Annika, more than it was being successful or not. She made peace with the end of the show, only because of Shivaay. His worry upon seeing her being troubled just for a TV show actually made her feel touched. Very touched in fact. She was already a goner for him. Fida!. And all those tiny gestures made her fall for him even more! Can he get any more perfect? Actually, he could.

She remembered how he had asked her for their honeymoon just around an hour ago. Working under him was nothing like living with him. He was so strict and becomes another person when at work. Even though he was being his kindest possible to her at office compared to the rest of them, his method of work was still a little tough on her. He was a complete perfectionist while she was a fast worker. At times, when she had to re-do somethings, she does feels frustrated, but at the end of the day, his tiny smile when she get it done perfectly was worth all the effort she had to put in. She was working on a file given by him when he knocked and came in.

"Shivaay, I need a little more time on this file. It's not complete yet. I'll get it to your cabin as soon as its done, okay?" She thought he had came for the file, little did she knew.

"No, I've not come for the file, actually!" He stated.

"Oh! Okay! What is it?" Annika asked as she put the file down and finally looked up at her husband. He was not able to look at her. His gaze was fixed down. He was keep on scratching the back of his head and tapping his foot on the flooring. He was nervous? But, why?

"Shivaay?"

"Woh, Annika, can we take a few days off?" He asked bluntly.

"Errr... I don't know. You're the boss!" She shrugged her shoulder. He was being weird. Very weird.

"Actually, I was thinking, urrrm, we've been married for some time now..."

"Three months and three weeks, to be precise!" She added, in an attempt to bring back the cool him.

"Yeah, three months, three weeks, five days, 16 hours, 53 minutes and 12 seconds... 13... 14..."

"Shivaay?! I get it! What is it?" Annika asked as she moved towards him and made him sit on the couch in her cabin. She knelt down in front of him to examine him.

"What happened? Is everything okay?" Annika asked, worried.

Things were much different after they had visited her parents the other day. Awkwardness never existed after that. In fact, they had a particular tension building between them, given that Annika had realized that they were in love with each other. It was sexual tension. Shirtless Shivaay tempted her to run her fingers on his torsoe while whenever Annika wore a backless dress, Shivaay had to control himself from kissing her there. A mere hand brush was enough to ignite spark between them. Their good night and good morning kisses were much longer than the usual peck. It was longer. They allow their lips to linger on each other's skin for some time, inhaling the scent of their better half.

"Everything is okay! It's just that..." Shivaay halted, he didn't know how to continue. He never wanted the awkwardness between them but now, even he himself couldn't stop it. He was trying his best to not cause any discomfort to her, but his passion for her war growing stronger, day by day. He had to deal with them through cold showers. Once, when she had worn a sexy, chiffon red saree, he had to take three cold shower in one night. It was no small deal.

Annika sensed that he was zoning out and took his hands in hers. Shivaay immediately looked up at their joined hands and looked up at Annika's face. He saw concern and worry flooding her face. How he wish he could kiss the frown out of her forehead. Then, as if in a trance of his thinking, he leant in and kissed her forehead. Annika closed her eyes, allowing her skin to be perfectly soothed by his warm lips. He allowed them to linger for a few seconds before pulling back, only to look at her blushing cheeks. Being in the same trance and in the heat of the moment, he leant towards her left cheek and kissed her there. Annika's breath hitched. Shivaay had never kissed her anywhere else apart from her forehead. Her clutch on his hand tighten and that brought him back. He pulled back almost right away. A pang of guilt hit him.

Looking at her blushing more with a wide contagious smile, his guilt just fade away. He freed his hand from her clutches and brushed the back of his palm on her cheeks.

"You are blushing!" He chuckled, unbelievably.

"If my husband decided to enter my cabin all of the sudden and kiss me like this, what do you think is the most natural reaction I could give?" Annika sighed before chuckling. Shivaay chuckled with her.

"Well, actually, I had come to ask you something, but I'm kinda... Let's say unsure... I just don't know the right word to describe my feeling at the moment!"

"It's okay, just tell me what it is as it is. Don't hesitate, okay? It's just me!" Annika assured him.

"It's you, that's why!" He muttered under his breath and looked up at her again.

"What is it, Shivaay? Say it! Come on!" She encouraged him.

Shivaay looked up at her and lowered his head again. Can anyone be that shy to his own wife? Apparently, the Shivaay Singh Oberoi can!

"Shivaay!" Annika called out to him as her hand travelled to his shoulder, giving him a squeeze there to bring him back from the zoned out world where he kept losing himself.

"Annika, Mom was saying that we had been married for so long and that Maybe it's high time for us to go for a honeymoon!" He recited it out as if he had memorized it like a small child reciting poem.

It took Annika a little while to comprehend his super fast sentence. She was only able to catch the word Mom, marriage and honeymoon.

"Are you asking me for our honeymoon, Shivaay?" Annika asked, in a hope that she hadn't misinterpreted what he had said. This kind of topic can make them grow awkward, if she caught it wrong.

"Yes, only if you're okay with it!" Shivaay stated, closing his eyes dreadfully.

"Shivaay! You're behaving like a teenage girl!" Annika chuckled as she brought her hand to cup his face.

"Shivaay, I'm your wife. You always remind me that we can ask and tell anything to each other, right? Why are you being so shy now? Bheegi Billi!" She chuckled and continued, "I would be more than happy to be going anywhere with you. Besides, work is making me a little cranky. So, where shall we go?"

Shivaay's eyes widened. Was she the same shy girl he had married to? She was behaving all bold and brave. What had happened to her?

"Really? You'll come with me?" He was stunned.

"Of course I'll come with you! It's our honeymoon!" She giggled. What was wrong with her husband today? He was being too cute. Annika had to stop herself from pulling his cheeks.

"Oh okay!" Shivaay finally grinned happily, sighed in relief and got up to walk towards the door. At the door, he stopped and turned around to look at her.

"So, I'll book the tickets and hotel then?" He asked.

"Sure, but where are you planning to take us?"

"Bali?"

"Perfect!" She smiled.

"Perfect!" He repeated after her and turned around to leave her cabin, only to walk into the unopened cabin door.

Annika gasped as she called out to him.

"I'm okay, I'm okay!" He reassured her and left the cabin, carefully opening the door this time around.

"You're just so completely lost in my son, aren't you?" She heard Tej's voice breaking her cloud of thoughts.

"Papa! Actually, woh... main... main..." She stammered, trying to find the appropriate reason for her to be zoning out during office hours. Tej could only chuckle at her reaction. She was looking like a deer that had been caught between headlights.

"So, where are you guys going for your honeymoon?" He asked further, only to find his daughter's cheeks gaining a pinkish hue.

"Bali!" She giggled.

"Bali? I had expected more from my son. He's such a miser, I'm telling you! I'll change it to somewhere else. You tell me, Europe or Australia?" Tej sighed at the choice of his son's honeymoon location.

"Papa, Bali is a great place! I've always wanted to go there. Besides, I had already been to London, and visited Paris once too! Bali is exciting Papa!" Annika backed up for Shivaay.

"Oh! Alright, I have a little gift for the both of you. But, only open this when you get there. Okay?" Tej said as he passed a gift box to her.

Annika nodded and quickly put it in her mini suitcase. They were supposed to fly straight after work that day. Somethings just need their attention before the mini break that they would be taking.

"Hey, you're done?" She heard her husband's voice, just when she changed into a more comfortable cloth in the bathroom. It's always the best to wear something comfortable while flying.

"Yeap! You?" She asked when she came out to find him in casuals. Their bags was being taken out by one of their drivers. While the whole family was there to send them off. Tej was somehow reluctant about sending them off at the airport. It was his thing. He doesn't really like the airport's ambience, hence their proper send off was just at the office's entrance.

"Have fun Bhabhi!" Priyanka whispered as she hugged Annika.

Annika blushed as a reply. Jhanvi and Tej blessed them both with a safe flight while Rudy left no stone unturned to tease them. Annika made a note mentally to tease him the same way when he gets married in the future. Shivaay had hit the back of his head while Priyanka just scoffed at her twin brother's excitement to become a Chachu.

Soon, after a little banter of the twins, they had finally left to the airport. Annika was ultimately amused with the hospitality they were receiving in the first class cabin. She had always flew economy to and from London. Only once she got the chance to travel in business, that too only because her flight was cancelled. She was getting hyped over everything and exclaimed about it to Shivaay. He did nothing but to smile and nod his head.

"Shivaay, look we're given a pair of pyjamas to be changed!" She exclaimed.

"Yes, Annika!" He smiled at her excitement.

"Oh my God! They serve champagne in here! That too in glass and not that plastic cup!" Another exclaim escaped her mouth.

"Yes, sweetheart!"

"And we have our own lavatory! We need not to share with others!" She beamed as she checked out the lavatory which was definitely bigger than that of in the economy classes.

"Hahaha! Yes, wify!" He smiled again.

They were supposed to sleep through the eight hour flight, but thanks to Annika's excitement, they hardly slept. She was comparing her usual flying experience to this. Then, thanks to the in-flight Wi-Fi, she looked up on some exciting places in Bali. She knew he would have have it all planned out, but still, she was too excited! They arrived in Bali at wee hours of the morning. They took a Grab car, an app similar to Uber which was more widely used in the South-East Asian countries to their hotel. The driver was very much friendly and had gave them some tips on places to visit as well. On their way to the hotel, they had witnessed the beautiful Sun rise of the island. The road that the driver took was a coastal one and it was through the beach.

Upon reaching their hotel, they were welcomed with flower garlands and a coconut cocktail each. The drink was not so high in alcohol, it was just simply laced with alcohol, but it was a little too strong for Annika. Then, sleep deprivation too took over her. She wasn't feeling drunk as how they show it on TV and movies. She was feeling a little drowsy and she needed to hit the bed badly. That was her initial plan, but, she got excited when they entered their room, scratch that, their villa!

It was very much exotic with a beautiful beach view from the hall and bedroom. There was a open pool in the dining plus kitchen area. The bathroom had a huge Jacuzzi that came with a small garden view. A private, in the villa garden of course. As soon as Annika sat on the bed, to admire the beach, her tiredness caught up and she gave in to the slumber.

Shivaay walked in with their luggage after tipping off the bell boy only to find his wife sleeping as she faces the beach. He placed all their luggage aside and pulled the blinds down, limiting the light that enters their room. It was getting brighter and the Sun was shining bright that day. He turned on the air-cond and helped Annika to lay properly on the bed. Once he tucked her in properly, he slipped into the comforter next to her and hugged her from the back. They needed a proper rest before they could kick start with their honeymoon.

He was awoken from his slumber by the smell of food. He wondered from where did food entered their room and opened his eyes after much struggle to find Annika arranging some plates on the bed table.

"Hey!" He called out to her.

"Good morning!" She giggled as she turned around to kiss him on his cheeks.

"Good morning!" He wished her back with a kiss on her nose. She was surprised, but she knew that, that was the first to the many that is to come!

"Go and freshen up! I'll make us some coffee by that time!"

Shivaay, like an obedient husband, got up and went to the bathroom. Only after the shower did he realize that he didn't bring his clothes along and went out with the towel wrapped around his waist.

"I forgot my clothes!" He informed her when she gasped with wide eyes as soon as she saw him walking out of the bathroom. Shivaay quickly grabbed his clothes and rushed in back, to avoid any awkwardness.

"We are here on our honeymoon and he's still being shy!" Annika thought to herself.

"Do I have to take the first step?" She sighed as she poured the coffee out when she remembered Tej's gift.

Just then, Shivaay came out and was looking for something in his suitcase when Annika took the gift and walked over to Shivaay's side.

"Mom gave this!"

"Papa gave this!"

They chuckled at the same time and looked at both their gifts.

"He asked us to open in here. Mom told the same?" Annika asked, to which he nodded.

"So?" Shivaay asked.

"You open Dad's gift, I'll open Mom's!" Annika quickly swapped their gifts and rushed to the bed where their brunch was set.

Grabbing on a small muffin and stuffing it into her mouth, Annika tore opened the gift while Shivaay concentrated on the gift completely. Annika's jaw has dropped when she saw the gift. It was a see through white lacy lingerie with a pair of matching G-string and bra. Shivaay who had lifted his head to look at the gift, looked away immediately. This was embarrassing.

"Yeh... thoughtful gift from Mom, I must say!" Annika managed a chuckle, as Shivaay too awkwardly chuckled when he noticed that there was a note attached to it.

- "If you feel like tearing it off and burning it, you're welcome to do so! There's no need for sentiments like it was Mom's gift! And you kids are welcome!" -

Love,
Mom

"As if the dress wasn't enough, she had to write this as well!" Shivaay sighed as he tried to throw it away but Annika got a hold of it and read it.

She could hardly say anthing to him and put the dress, along with the note into the box and put it away. She urged him to open Tej's gift instead. When she saw Shivaay fiddling with the wrapping paper, Annika simply took it from him and tore it open, only to receive another shock. It was a huge packet of condoms.

"Whoa!" She dropped the packet on the bed as she blinked away. It came with a note too. Only thing was, this note was a paste-it note that was on top of the packet.

-"As much as I want to be a grandfather soon, I know that you kids need time! Make good use of this gift ;)"-

Love,
Dad.

"Which parents give this kind of gifts to their children when they're leaving on a honeymoon?" Shivaay furiously took both the gifts and chucked it into his suitcase while Annika shifted her focus on the brunch.

"Apparently, our parents do that!" She muttered as she sipped in the coffee.

"Well-played Mom and Dad!" He muttered to himself as he settled opposite her taking his coffee cup.

It was going to be awkward! All the awkwardness from the beginning was going to flood in now.
