Kendrick's POV.

The first few attempts at trying to get her to feel confident enough to touch me still did not work out. Today I have a good feeling though, I think today she can do it. Although I was disappointed the first time I knew it wasn't going to be solved right away. I knew she had to face the demons in her mind before she could face me, so each time even if she only brought her hand just a few inches closer to my skin, I encouraged her. I didn't want her to know how hard this has been for me or that I was becoming discouraged, but I wanted to do this for her. I'm not perfect so it's normal for me to feel slightly hopeless in this situation but when I'm really paying attention I can see the determination on her face to finally feel like she can touch me.

I walk from the kitchen where I just shared lunch with Warren, Lana and Dan, and walked back upstairs to my mate. It's just about our regular time to meet, after the first time we decided trying this everyday. I knew it was a good idea so she could prepare herself mentally for this. I can see the fear slowly leaving her eyes even if it still hasn't left her body. Her hands still shake when she reaches out to me and I can't wait for the day her hands are steady as she approaches me.

I finally make it to her room and knock on the door, I hear her moving around the room for a few minutes before the door is opened. "Hi, please come in," I look around the room to see she did a little cleaning before I came in, I look into her face to see she has one of the biggest smiles I have ever seen. I keep looking until I catch myself staring at her, a confused look passes over her face and I look away. I smile slightly at the thought of her happy to see me, these moments of us being together has really brought us closer. "How are you doing Felicity?" I ask as I walk into her room and sit on her bed while she takes the chair, both of us moving to our designated spots now out of habit.

"I'm doing well, just a little nervous about today. I really want to get over my fear, I'm getting better don't you think?" I smile at her, happy to see she really wants to do this. "You are getting better, everyday I see you trying harder and harder. I'm so proud of you, I know you can do this, you just have to keep believing you can. Forget about the past, it's in the past, now is the present and there is nothing to stop you from living the life you want." She smiles at me and my heart stops, I've never seen anything more beautiful and I hope I never stop seeing her like this. There is a future waiting out there for us, and I will wait for that day we can make it together. Now is just about her getting to where she wants to be.

"Are you ready to start Felicity?" She nods her head at me, a flicker of fear comes into her eyes and I make sure I do everything I can to brush it away "Yeah I'm ready." She brings her shoulders up in nervous excitement. I sit there watching and waiting for her to take the first step, I don't rush her. All of a sudden she bursts out laughing with a deep blush on her face, "I'm sorry I can't, I can't do this with you staring at me like that. You're making me nervous, I know I can do this. I'm going to do this but can you close your eyes? It would make me feel so much better."

"You- you want me to close my eyes?" She gives me a shy look I never thought I would see, and leans in to talk to me "would you? Please?" I chuckle at how cute she is, there as so many unexpected aspects to this woman that I just know life with her will be an adventure. "Alright, alright, stop giving me that look, I'm not sure if I'll be able to stop myself from touching you. I really don't want to scare you." She instantly leans in and wrings her hands in her lap. "But don't worry, I will control myself" I visibly see her relax. "Okay let's just start!" She doesn't need to say another word, I get  myself comfortable and close my eyes.

Ten minutes go by before I sense any movement, in those minutes I could hear her chastising herself and then trying to encouraging herself saying she can do this. I jerk in surprise at the feeling of a hand on my ankle, oh my gosh, she's done it! I let my smile show but don't open my eyes, I don't want to scare her into stopping. Once I settle again I feel her hand move, of course not up my leg but to my shoulder. She leaves her seat to get closer to me. I feel her hand move along my chest then up to my neck, and further up to my face. Her fingers run along the curve of my neck, tracing my jaw, curling along my ears and at the end she runs her fingers down my nose and brushes the tips of her fingers on my lips delicately. Once she's finished with my face she starts to run her fingers back down, over my shoulder and down my arm.

When her fingers pass my wrist and the tingles ignight my fingers I grip onto them slowly and I open my eyes. A gasp leaves her lips as we hold onto each other and I look deep into her eyes. "I'm so proud of you, here is the woman I know and love," we both freeze in our positions. I did not mean to let those three words slip and I can tell she was never expecting them from the deep blush gracing her cheeks. "What did you just say?" She still doesn't believe what she just heard me say. "You heard me, baby. I was not planning to say it yet but it doesn't make them any less true. I love you, I've been falling for you since the first moment I saw you. I don't know if you're at the same place as me and that's okay. I want to hear you say it when you're ready."

Felicity leans closer to me with her hair falling in front of her. A golden curtain framing her beautiful face. She continues to get closer and closer, her instincts taking over. She's so close to me I only have to lean in a couple inches more and then my lips will be on hers. I get so caught in the moment, the sight of her soft lips so close to mine that I almost miss the shaking of her body. Although there is a large part of her that wants me, that wants this, I know if her lips touch mine the fear will return. I don't want her to loose the progress we just made so I pull back, "Darling, are you sure about this? Believe me I want to kiss you so, so much but your body is shaking like a leaf and I know you're not completely ready for this. I can wait, I can wait till your ready."

It's like she jumps out of a trance and she can see the real world again, the shock in her eyes clear. She presses her fingers to her lips and smiles down at me as she stands to her full height. "Thank you for being so patient with me, I don't know where I'd be if I didn't have you," her hand brushes the side of my face and I turn my head and kiss her palm with the sweet scent of her natural perfume reaching my nose.

I know, I know, finally an update! I've finally got some inspiration. Honestly again I was distracted by books I wanted to read, and laziness. Most of all I just couldn't fit how I wanted to write this chapter in my head but I finally got it! Hope you enjoy it just as much as I've enjoyed writing it!!
