Pain and anger surged throughout her body. Zai had lost the sword she had never lost a fight with. She had grown attached to it and now it was gone, because of a stupid wurm. Come to think of it, this wurm had gotten her removed from the troop. She inhaled sharply, turning the dagger in her hand, and marched  towards the wurm.

The steel of the dagger shone dimly with the little light in the black and blue cavern. Zai raised her weapon, got ready to stab it, and... slowly brought it to her waist. There was no point, it was already dead. She needed to find her sword.

Sheathing the dagger in her belt, Zai gingerly walked to the edge of the crevice. She looked down too catch a glimpse of what was down in there and noticed something, moving. Fear filled her heart, and despite her anger, did not move. The moving figure got closer to her and she realized it was not one, but many things. Her heart raced and her eyes widened, but she still did not move.

The figures raced out of the crevice and at Zai, fluttering and squeaking wildly. Bats! She thought as she tripped on a loose stone and twirled the the black mass. A few wings and bodies hit her face and she flew down the midnight-black crevice.

"Aghhhhh!" screamed in shock and horror as she flew down this crevice. This is where I die she thought. Her mind raced on how to fix this and what would be at the bottom. Was there water? No. She would still die. Rock? Not even a question. She thought quickly and spread out her body as much as she could to slow the fall. This didn't help much but it was the only thing she could think of falling that fast.

She opened her eyes and saw that the crevice was no longer pitch black, but a bluish color. Zai fell even further and the blue became lighter and lighter, her eyes tried to fix on what was making this happen. The blue was illuminating from one spot. What is that?! she asked herself. The blue came at her body and face faster and faster until she finally reached it. A tremendous pain filled her body shortly before her vision went black...
