The Chosen Path
Third Person POV
Nico and Jason were dominating the monsters. Frank and Leo were working well together as Leo threw fire and Frank was a dragon fighting. Piper was charm speaking monsters while Hazel helped kill them. They were waiting for their two friends to come through the Doors of Death. Things were going well until more monsters showed up. The demigods were getting extremely tired.
"I don't know how much longer we can keep this up," Jason yelled over his weakening storm.
"We have to hold until Percy and Annabeth get here," Nico yelled back, "we promised!" The ground shook then the Doors of Death opened. A dark aura that made all the monsters and the six demigods stop fighting came from the Doors of Death. They all looked to see a frightful sight. A boy with just tattered pants on stood there. His black hair was a mess, his usual sea green eyes were almost black, gold and red blood covered his body, and a scar was prominent on his face that went from the top of his eye to the corner of his eye on his right side and continued diagonally to the corner of this mouth on his left side. He held a blade that was covered in golden and red blood. His face was void of any emotion as he twirled the blade. In a flash he was no longer in the spot he had been standing and then the scream of monsters could be heard. The demigods watched in awe and fear as their friend cut through the monster army with no struggle. Soon he stood in a sea of dust.
"Percy," Nico questioned. The black haired boy walked up to his friends.
"Di Angelo." His voice was much lower and held more power than his friends remembered.
"Where is Annabeth," Piper asked. Percy turned to her, his eyes hardened.
"She is gone." His voice was like the dead.
"What," Piper asked stupidly from shock.
"She. Is. Gone." He pronounced each word slowly and forcefully. Piper put her hand over her mouth as she started to sob. Jason hugged her tightly as she cried into him. Hazel also started to cry as Percy walked over to shut the Doors of Death. Frank held her, sad himself. They might not have known Annabeth for long, but they had really warmed up to her. Leo and Nico stood dumbfounded as Percy came back over. Leo had liked Annabeth as she often set him straight. He had liked their banter. Nico liked Percy and though he was jealous of Annabeth he never wished for her death. He also knew how much this had to affect Percy. Not only did she die, but she had died most likely near Percy. He knew the pain of losing a loved one.
"Let's go," Percy said ignoring everyone's sorrow as he walked to the Argo II. His friends followed behind sadly and worriedly. Once they entered the Argo II Leo announced he had to fix the ship and it shouldn't take long. Nico wanted to take the Athena Parthenos, but Jason forced him to stay until he rested a little. Percy headed to the shower and the two couples separated to comfort each other. Frank and Hazel went to Frank's room and since Nico was in Jason's room Jason and Piper went to Piper's room.
"I think you should go talk to Percy," Piper told Jason. "He seemed depressed."
"Do you blame him," Jason asked her. "If I lost you I would be depressed too."
"I am just saying you should go talk to him." Jason stood up and kissed her.
"Okay." Jason left and went to Percy's room. He knocked and there was no answer. Worried Jason went in and at the same time Percy came out of his bathroom only dressed in boxers. Jason was taken aback. Percy's body was covered in scars, many he hadn't had before he went to Tartarus.
"Haven't you heard of waiting," Percy growled bring Jason out of his stupor.
"I just wanted to see how you were and I got worried when you didn't answer."
"I'm fine." Percy turned around to grab an outfit. Jason averted his eyes until Percy was done.
"What do you want Jason?" He looked back and now the only scar that could be seen was the one on Percy's face.
"I just wanted to talk." Percy's gaze grew cold.
"I don't want to talk. I want to go after Gaea. Leo said he'd have the ship going soon." The emotionlessness Percy was showing worried Jason.
"Look bro I don't know," Jason was cut off as Percy finally showed an emotion, fury.
"You are dam right you don't know!" His sudden snap made Jason uneasy as Percy stalked him. Jason took a few steps back until he hit the door. "You have no idea what I went through, what I saw!" Percy was right in front of Jason yelling. His eyes darkened until they were practically black.
"You have no right to demand talking to me, none! I want you gone! Leave now!" Jason had never been the one to frighten easy, but Percy like this truly terrified him. He was out of the room and down the hall. So fast he failed to stop as he ran into someone smaller than him. They both groaned as they fell to the floor.
"What the Hades Grace!" Jason over to see Nico. He was rubbing his head which had knocked into Jason's chest.
"Sorry I," Jason stopped. How did he explain to Nico that he was running scare of their friend, the one that Nico had a crush on.
"You what," Nico asked standing. Jason stood as well.
"Nothing. Why aren't you rest?" Jason changed the subject hoping to throw Nico off.
"Reyna just got here and says she wants to help me get back to camp." Jason just stared at Nico for a moment.
"Reyna's here?" Nico rolled his eyes at Jason.
"Isn't that what I just said Grace?" Jason gave Nico a glare, sometimes Nico was just too rude.
"No need to be mean Nico." Nico shook his head dismissing Jason's comment.
"She's on deck." With that he stepped back into a shadow and was gone. Putting what just happened with Percy out of his head, Jason headed to the deck. Everyone but Percy was on deck as Jason got there. He saw Reyna.
"Jason," she said acknowledging that he was there.
"Reyna what are you doing here?" Her expression darkened.
"Things are getting bad back at the camps. Octavian has got all the Romans in his hand and is leading them to war against the Greeks. The Greeks are preparing, not backing down. We need to get the Athena Parthenos there quickly. I came to help do that."
"Then let's go," Nico said. Camp Halfblood was his home, but he also liked Camp Jupiter.
"Hang on a second cupcakes, I'm coming with you. You both need protection and I am here to do it."
"We will be fine," Nico said. Coach Hedge took his club as pointed it at Nico.
"I am going cupcake." Nico was about to get into an argument with the old satyr when Percy appeared out of nowhere scaring everyone on deck.
"Let him go Nico." Everyone jumped. Nico, Reyna, Hazel, and Jason drew their swords. Frank pulled out his bow, while Leo caught on fire, Piper pulled out Katoptris, and Coach Hedge readied his club. When they all seen that it was Percy who spoke they put their weapons away.
"How in Zues's name did you sneak up here," Nico asked. Percy didn't look amused and everyone finally got a good look at him. Everything was different about him, even since Jason saw him ten minutes ago. Percy was now dressed in a dark grey shirt with a black leather jacket, black jeans, and he was wearing combat boots. Instead pen form like it usually was Riptide was now hanging at his waist, which his hand was settled on, a black ring glistened on his hand. He looked deadly as they saw many daggers in his jacket.
"Percy," Reyna asked astonished.
"Reyna." He nodded to her.
"What happened?" The other seven froze as they heard her ask.
"I went to Tartarus," Percy said emotionlessly. "Annabeth and I fell in and only I came out." Reyna's eyes widened.
"I'm so sorry Percy." He didn't say anything as he looked at Nico.
"Nico Coach Hedge will be going with you and Reyna. You will be exhausted from Shadow traveling and won't be able to help her fend off monsters."
"Alright," Nico told him. Percy turned to Leo.
"Are we ready to go?"
"All tip top shape." Leo had finally put himself out. Percy looked at everyone.
"You three go now and get the truce. We will need everyone we can for war. The rest of us will got to Greece and meet you there." With that Percy walked away.
I'm a Time Skip....LOVE ME!!!!!
The fight was brutal as the gods and campers finally faced off against the monster army and the Giants. The demigods and gods were winning though. There were only two Giants left, Enceladus and Porphyrion, though they were losing badly. Already their monster army was down to a fourth. A loud cry went out as Athena and Malcom beat Enceladus. All that was let was Porphyrion who started to laugh. Everyone stopped to watch as he had two demigods in his hands Clarisse La Rue and Chris Rodriguez. Their bodies were bleeding profusely, but they were alive.
"Wait while Mother returns!" He let their blood fall to the Earth and it start to shake as a high pitched laugh rang through everyone. Percy saw his friends in trouble and was furious, no one else could die. He ran straight for Porphyrion and knocked Clarisse and Chris out of his hands. He used the water in the air to catch them and lay them safely down.
"Apollo get your ass here now!" Apollo immediately followed Percy's order and started to heal the two demigods.
"You are too late Jackson, Mother is coming!" Percy scowled at the Giant.
"It's not too late to kill you," he growled and attacked. It seemed like a once sided fight as Percy easily attacked Porphyrion. Soon Percy had Riptide through Porphyrion's heart. The Giant laughed.
"You might have stabbed me, but none of the gods are close enough to." His sentence was cut off by a silver arrow in his head.
"Artemis doesn't need to be close," Percy told him as he disintegrated. A scream was heard and everyone turned to the source. A woman, who had once been beautiful with her long auburn hair, brown eyes and flowing green dress stood where Chris's and Clarisse's blood had fallen.
"You killed my children," Gaea exclaimed. "I will kill you!" Percy's eyes narrowed as he went to meet her. She was the reason why Annabeth was dead.
"You will pay dearly," Percy said his voice rising as he talked. "You will pay dearly for Annabeth's life!" Gaea cackled.
"You can't stop me demigod!" What Percy did next surprised everyone. He sheathed Riptide and took of his leather jacket so he was only wearing a sleeveless shirt. A golden aura surrounded. His eyes went from sea green to gold, he grew slightly taller and his hair grew longer. He twirled the black ring on his hand and a scythe appeared in his hand, which he started to move around his body expertly. His aura power grew until it was above the Olympians, even the Big Three. It was a dark aura and everyone trembled from the feeling. When Percy spoke his voice vibrated through everyone.
"It is time to fade." He slashed at Gaea and she barely blocked it with her newly formed sword. The final battle had begun. No one moved as they watched Percy and Gaea fight. Gold and black aura surrounded Percy as brown and green surrounded Gaea. The two auras clashed sending tremors throughout the earth. Strike for strike they met each other. The fight lasted a good hour before signs of fatigue started to show, however it was only Gaea who showed fatigue. Percy kept pushing and pushing until Gaea failed to block the fatal blow that cut off her head.
"Goodbye." He twirled the scythe and Gaea's body was chopped into little bits. They dissipated and the Second Giant War was over.
Time Skip is Love Time Skip is Life
On Olympus
Everyone was tired, but Zeus wanted to hand out the gifts to the ones he deemed worthy. Nico, Thalia, Reyna, Jason, Piper, Frank, Hazel, and Leo were made minor gods under their parent's domains. The others who had fought in both wars and survived were given immortality.
"Perseus Jackson," Zeus thundered out. The hall was silent as Percy stepped. Athena moved from her throne, shrinking to get to Percy. A loud smack echoed through the room.
"How could you let her die!?" Tears fell from her eyes. Percy's eyes flashed black and the aura that surrounded him before start to surround him again. He was livid.
"Do you think I wanted her to die?! I didn't! For months we were tortured by Tartarus and his minions die to Gaea's order. For months I took all the tortures so Annabeth would be safe! I begged to be tortured so she wouldn't be! Every time they came to take her away I threw myself in front of her! As time wore on my body started to break and my mind went numb! I couldn't function from all they did to me down there! Because of this Annabeth started to get tortured! One day a friend came and told her that he could get only one of us out! She told him to take me! I was too delirious at the time to fight back! When I finally came to I was out of the cells, to be told that Annabeth stayed in my place! I did the only thing I could, I went to rescue her, but I knew that I wouldn't be able to do it with my power! I traveled Tartarus until I found the rest of Kronos's essence and absorbed it! I went back to get her out, but I was too late. I didn't even get to say goodbye! Why didn't she leave me behind, why did she chose for me to be save! WHY ATHENA!" By now the room was trembling from Percy's anger. Hestia ran to her nephew.
"Shh Percy things will get better." He sneered and shrugged her off.
"Nothing will get better! Nothing will ever be alright ever again!" With that he stormed out of the throne room. Everyone thought he would calm down and be back, but the next day when they came to check on him in his cabin a note and Riptide sat on his bed. Percy had left.
500 Year's Later
"Yes my Lady!" A person in a dark grey cloak stood in front a woman that had galaxies for eyes and her dress looked like it had been made from the night sky full of stars.
"Omega as you know the universe has started to be taken over by an unknown force. It has become apparent that the force will be going to Earth next to take it. I want you and your team to go down to Earth to stop this entity either by a truce or force."
"Yes Khaos." The cloaked figure turned and left. They went to where their group was at. The group was relaxing after a well done mission.
"Guardians we have a mission." The team stood attention to their leader. "You all know about the entity that has begun to take over the Universe they have now targeted Earth. Lady Khaos is sending us to protect them."
"When do we leave," Alpha asked. Khaos came in snapping her fingers so that they all had cloaks and hoods. Now." She teleported them to the Olympian throne room where the gods were talking. They stopped at their arrival.
"Who dare enters here without my permission," Zeus boomed.
"Keep your pants on Zeus," Khaos told him. When he located the person to the voice his eyes widened.
"L...Lady Khaos." Everyone immediately bowed.
"Stand we have come to help." As the Olympians stood they were confused.
"Help with what." Instead of answering Khaos snapped her fingers and the scenery changed. The Olympians, other gods, goddesses, and all of Camp Olympia was present in the arena. Everyone started to shout as they were confused on how they ended up there.
"Quiet," Khaos's voice rang through the crowd. With the power she emanated in her voice everyone shut up. "Good now introductions. My name is Khaos, do not bow I have more information. The cloaked figures behind me are my elite task force called Guardian. Their leader is Omega, second in command is Alpha, then there is Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon. Omega is my heir to the Universe." As she called out their names they stepped forward. First the person cloaked in charcoal grey, then the one in gold, the pink and orange figures stepped forward next, then there was the person in black, and finally the person in silver. "We are here to help you. Recently there has been an entity that has begun to take over the Universe and we have not been able to stop them because we haven't been able to catch them. We have information that they will be stopping here next. We are here to protect you."
"Why are they cloaked," a camper yelled.
"To hide their identities. All of them are from Earth."
"Why not show themselves then," another camper yelled. Khaos was getting annoyed from being interrupted. The person in grey came over to her and talked to her. Khaos nodded.
"Everyone here but Omega wants to reveal themselves so that you trust them." The person in black revealed herself first.
"Bianca!" Nico shadow travelled instantly to where she was and wrapped her in a hug. She laughed.
"It is good to see you too little brother." She hugged him back. Hades came over to join. Next were the two people in pink and orange. They took their hoods down.
"Selina and Charles!" Clarisse and Aphrodite went to Selina while Hephaestus and a couple other siblings of his went to him. Next was the person in silver. Instead of taking off her hood right away she went to stand in front of Artemis and bowed.
"My Lady." Artemis took off her hood.
"Zoe," Artemis breathed. She helped her friend stand and hugged her. Soon Zoe was surrounded by her sisters.
"Finally came the person in gold."
"I want to tell all of you that I am sorry for what I have done." He took off his hood and Luke Castellen stood in front of everyone. He was tackled by Hermes.
"It is my fault son. I am sorry."
"If that is settled," Khaos stated, "we need to prepare. The entity will be here soon."
"Sooner than you think," a dark voice echoed. A darkness that seemed to suck light to it appeared and left a being there. The being was humanoid though monster like. The being stood tall at almost seven foot. Its skin was dark and like the aura that it had come in its skin seemed to suck in the light around him. Bat wings were folded at its back and it had claws for fingers. Its red and black swirled eyes looked at everyone. As it opened its mouth they could see his sharpened teeth.
"My name is Ápeiro or Infinite for I am forever." Its voice gave off a powerful and eerie echo. Khaos stepped forward.
"What are you?"
"I am the one who will change this Universe."
"By enslaving it," Khaos argued.
"By giving them what they need, a path."
"You are doing it wrongly."
"I will not be stopped and you cannot stop me." The person in grey stepped forward pulling out a dagger. The entity's eyes glared at the dagger then at the figure.
"It's you. Do you know how long I searched for you?" In one swift moment the entity had the grey figure's hood down. Golden ringlets fell around the person's face. "Annabeth Chase."
"I have never met you before."
"I do not look like I used to, but maybe in my more humanoid form you will recognize me." The entity's skin turned to a golden tan color, its claws to fingers, its teeth went normal, and its eyes to sea green.
"Do you recognize me now Annabeth?" His voice was now normalish.
"Percy," Annabeth gasped.
"Hello Wise Girl."
The heir to the Universe and the person who was threatening it looked at each other, each with different expressions. Annabeth's in shock, like everyone else, and Percy's cruel and crazed.
"What happened to you," Annabeth asked when she finally found her voice.
"You died, died for me no less. Someone who was already broken from all that I had been through. I went back to save you but you were already gone. I fought Gaea and made her pay for your death. I left and trained my new powers from both absorbing Kronos's and Gaea's powers. I went back to Tartarus and tortured Tartarus himself before I absorbed his powers too. I left Earth and traveled the universe since I had gotten my revenge. I decided to use my new powers to help people and I became a helping hand, even as broken as I was. One day I was asked to come to a powerful being's palace for I was a freelancer. They asked me to get rid of a regime to make peace on a certain planet. I did as they told me. Most people would move on looking for the next mission, but what the being didn't know is I always went back to look at my work. I found that I had been lied to. The regime I had gotten rid of was actually the people that needed help. The powerful being had used me. The other regime had given a favor to the powerful being and instead of siding with the people who really needed help they went with the people who could do more for them. I was sick to my stomach over this and decided to stop it. I realized that people needed to be told what path they needed to take, if not they would continue to hurt others. So I went back to Tartarus and then I trained by taking out monsters. I got so far into Tartarus that I found monsters that were made at the beginning of the Universe. They were so powerful that Tartarus had locked them away. I fought them and absorbed their powers too. I went to Nyx for she had helped Tartarus and I took her out absorbing her powers. Erebus came after me, but he was no match and well you can guess the pattern. I have found almost all of the primordials and have absorbed their powers. I then decided to start my plan on giving everyone the correct path. That way people can stop hurt others. Earth is just another planet that needs to be put on the correct path. After all the gods and goddesses did to their family. I will stop the hurting." Percy was crazy, absolutely crazy. No one could believe the changes he had went through, from the loyal person that would die for anyone, to a crazed and powerful entity trying to not only take over Earth but takeover the whole Universe.
"Percy you can't take people's free will away," Annabeth tried to reason with him. He gave a crazed laugh.
"Am I not doing the same you and yours are doing?"
"No we help people!" Percy stalked up to her.
"Ask your Master what I am talking about. She is the one that gave me this realization." Everyone turned to Khaos whose normally tan skin was pale. Percy walked over to her.
"I am guessing you remember then, all that time ago."
"Khaos," Annabeth asked hesitantly, but Khaos was paying attention to Percy.
"Raze?" Percy smiled.
"You do remember." He turned to everyone. "They powerful being I was talking to was Khaos. She gave me the mission that showed me my path." Everyone now knew the person who created the Universe could be corrupted.
"Now who will join me on my path willingly?" No one moved. They wanted their will, not to be controlled. Percy sighed.
"Then I will take Earth by force. He changed back into his other form. He pulled out his scythe. The gods tried to attack, but Percy easily blasted them away with a simple wave of his hand. The Guardians attacked him. They were strong after being blessed by Khaos, but they were no match for Percy who had dealt with them in a matter of moments. Only Khaos and Annabeth stood.
"Percy please stop," Annabeth cried. "I'm here, we can be together again." Percy tsked her.
"So selfish. I no longer care for a single person or group. Everyone should enjoy peace." He attacked her, but she wasn't the heir to the Universe for nothing. She blocked his attacks and sent some back. Her attack were weaker than his though, for she still loved him. Because of this she didn't see the blow coming towards her throat. The blow didn't come though, instead silver blood exploded in front of her. At the last moment Khaos had jumped in front of Percy's blade and it was now through her chest.
"Please Perseus stop this. The strike you just gave me will make me fade in a matter of moments. I am sorry that I at times I could be swayed, but don't let me be the reason to take people's free will away. Please open your eyes and see this is wrong." Percy's eyes narrowed at Khaos.
"Your death will begin a new age." He threw Khaos off his blade and Khaos faded.
"No," Annabeth yelled. For the past five hundred years Khaos had been like a mother to her and now she was gone. Furious Annabeth fought Percy, this time with all her might. This was not the Percy she remembered, nor the one she fell in love with. Finally Anabeth found an opening, a small one, but enough to force Percy to the ground and for her to pin him down.
"Any last words," she asked breathing heavily from the fight. What she didn't expect was him to change back into his normal looking for. His eyes looked sad.
"Please don't hurt me Annabeth. I thought you loved me." She hesitated. He looked and sounded like the old Percy. Her hesitation cost her as she felt something cold go through her body. She looked down to find a silver knife in chest. The knife that Khaos had given her that would make any being fade.
"Goodbye Wise Girl." As she faded Percy knew no one else could stand in his way.
