At the end of the day
There's only one that I trust

He hides his fears
Like so many others

Yet there are few days
When he shares his woes

And on these days it makes me feel wanted
The fact that I can help another is enough

But still I can see the darkness inside
But its up to me to heal it

I've traveled far and wide
Through my 17 years

And yet, I've only found one
One decent person in this world

One person who didn't look at me
And said 'Why bother'

One person who cares about me,
For who I am, not what I could be

One person who understands me
And doesn't make me feel inferior

And so, I end with this
A poem, a remembrance, a tribute

The darkness I hide within
Cannot be undone with a simple pin

It take a friend, an ally, a pal
It only takes one to help this gal

For years she's struggled here
Her only constant her crippling fear

Then came her year of life
She found someone to relive the strife

He was the first to give her a chance
And she wasn't forced to change her stance

Alone no more,
Sad and crying on the floor

She had found a friend to trust
And trust him she must

Once again she found herself alone
But then she turned and saw her phone

It was vibrating violently
And she stared at it silently

She picked it up to find who called
But instead found quite a haul

Of texts, almost 20 in one go
She laughed as she faced her foe

Picking up the phone, laughing with glee
She wouldn't have her character flee

Her fingers flew across the keys
Going fast with the greatest of ease

She finished the text and hit send
Then went to the other things she had to tend

Even when he doesn't know it
He could always calm her fits

She knew she was lucky to have such a friend
Who would always be able to tend

And so I leave you with this

Hey guys, Cassia here. My dearest friend ShadeFinder wrote a touching poem once again, and it inspired me to do the same. I'm not very good at poems in general, but I felt like I'd try again.

Shade you've been there for me since I've met you. I went into 11th grade expecting the normal year of bullies, loneliness, and crying alone in my room when I was broken.

But you changed all of that. This year turned from the Nether to the Aither because I had someone to trust.

You've been the one to keep me going, even when you didn't know it. Every time I've come close to giving up and becoming the b*tch I was in previous years, for the sole purpose of protecting myself from emotional pain, you've done something to make me realize I can't.
I'd lose you if I did, and you're the only one to give me a shot since elementary school.
