4. What?
When we looked inside the door, it was fairly boring. It was a ring of trees with branches that somehow stretched to create a dome. But other than that it was just a bunch of grass. And there were doors in the tree trunks.
"Go on in," Mr. Fielding said.
And so we did. We also saw some dressers. And off to the side, we saw donut-like tables with seats. And due to the the shape of them, I assumed they had storage.
"So, what do we do?" I asked.
"Get into groups and pick a table," Mr. Fielding said.
I got into a group with Cole and Hannah and we set off for the nearest table. I saw other students immediately rush towards one another while some just stayed back and group with others who didn't really know other people in the group. And I was right! They do have storage.
"Who would like to volunteer?" He asked.
Five brave students raised their hands. Two more did so but slowly as if to say 'I'm raising my hand but please do not call on me.' Of course he chose one of the two that raised their hand slowly. She got up and went up to Mr. Fielding, who was by the dressers now. He reached in a drawer and grabbed something and handed it to her.
"Grab your copy of Witchcraft: Circle Magic please," Mr. Fielding said. She went back to her table and grabbed it. He gestured for her to come to him and whispered some to her. She opened her book and went somewhere near the middle and started drawing. He went over and bent his knees to get a good look at it.
"Good, good," he began, "Perfect! Everyone please open to page two of Witchcraft: Circle Magic."
I obliged with his request and saw that it detailed about the heart glyph. He grabbed a copy of the book from one of his drawers and began to read.
"'The heart glyph is typically drawn with golden chalk and is the center of circle magic. When the required circles for a rite have been drawn, one must drop an item within the inner circle. As an alternative, you may give it to a grassper plant within the inner circle. Once you have done this, interact with the heart glyph and, if you have enough power in an alter, the rite shall be done.' Anyone else wish to volunteer?"
He called on another student and gestured for him to come. He passed him something else. After showing him a page, he grabbed his book and began drawing in a circle. The chalk was red and flaming, yet the grass nor the trees caught fire. Mr. Fielding laid down some items then touched the heart glyph. Smoke enveloped the items then, with another puff of smoke, some of the food the teacher placed down was back, cooked, and there was also a pile of ashes
"That was the Rite of Broiling. Please flip to page twenty-one," He said, and we complied. "'The Rite of Broiling requires a rod of fire, wood ash, and coal. One thousand alter power is required. As an alternative, a charged attuned stone may also be used.' When a rite is activated, the required items disappear in smoke. Some things may come back, such as arthanas."
We made something called an altar. He explained how certain skulls powered it differently. He put the skull of a warlock on the altar. He also placed a small dagger with a yellow blade called an arthana. He also put a thing of candles on it. And an empty chalice. Then he left us with our books, disappeared without a sound, and had only left the instructions to improve the altar. Whenever we stepped over the line, he appeared and stopped us. We finally figured it out. We had to make a redstone soup, then put it in the chalice. Only then did he let us go.
