Chapter 1
By the time I got to the train station, she was gone.
"Dammit!" I growled out, gaining more strange looks, but I couldn't care less. I lost her. I damn lost her.

She stood there, defeated. She, the one person that could find her, lost her. She was a fairly short woman, around five feet and four inches. Her fiery red eyes scanned the crowds, desperately searching for the girl she had lost. Her dark, thick black hair stood atop her head in a neat bun, her dark skin looking even darker in the dim light of the subway. Dark circles were under her eyes, her hands dirty and cracked. She was wearing a pair of jeggings, a t-shirt, and an open flannel that desperately needed a wash. Her combat boots were laced with camo lacing, covered in dried mud, but she didn't care how she looked. She had lost the one person she needed.

I sighed, pulling out the case file, fingernails chewed down to the quick. This case has already put too much pressure on me.
Name: Maria Jane Smith
Date Of Birth: May 3rd, 1997
Family Relations: Martha Smith - Mother, John Smith - Father, Angela Smith - Sister
She was a pretty girl. Long, pale green hair down to her shoulder blades, somewhat tanned skin, showing off how much she worked outside, dark brown eyes with flecks of gold, freckles across her nose and cheeks, a beautiful smile, and elven ears. I sighed.
"Maria.... Why would you run...?" I shook my head, regaining my composure. I had to find her. Determination set in, I stood up and walked out of the station.
