SYNOPSIS

FLORENCE BUTTERWORTH bakes her own dreams for a living. Her reality, however, is a crumbling mess: her ex-boyfriend, ALISTAIR THORNE — London's most feared food critic — left her with one devastating review of his own.

Her pastries were "forgettable".

Then her cousin's groom runs off to Scotland, and one terrible lie at the wedding leaves Florence pretending to be madly in love with JASPER FINCH.

One month. One campervan. Two total opposites. And a high-stakes baking competition in the Cotswolds that might be Florence's last chance to prove that she isn't nearly as forgettable as she's been made to believe.

Faking it should be simple.

Except Jasper has secrets of his own. Florence is terrible at pretending she doesn't care. And somewhere between disastrous bakes, foggy motorway confessions, and an ex-critic determined to expose their relationship as a fraud, the line between fake and real starts becoming dangerously difficult to find.

The Scone Fling takes place primarily in London, with a few questionable detours to the Cotswolds and Scotland. While many streets, neighbourhoods and landmarks are real, they have been adapted fictionally for the purposes of this story.

Any resemblance to real events is entirely coincidental.

This story contains fake dating, family drama, baking disasters, romantic tension, mild language, references to past relationships and scenes of emotional conflict. There is no explicit sexual content.

It does, however, contain a completely unreasonable amount of pastry.
