A/N: Hey guys! New chapter for you and it's very long! Please comment and vote as those really motivate me to keep writing! Hope you like it!! :-D

**Beautiful New York skyline**

Stephanie POV

I don't think words can ever fully describe the majestic view of New York. It was bigger than life, literally, and there were so many lights that I think you'd need sunglasses even if it wasn't sunny out. I'd seen skyscrapers before in San Diego, but never this many put together. The fact is, New York is in a class in and of itself.

I thought that having seen clips and pictures of New York would prepare me, and that I wouldn't be so astounded. That assumption was torn to shreds the second we got off the jet and hit the streets.

A black stretch limousine was waiting for us outside, and it could only take away my attention from New York for half a second. Yeah, it's that amazing.

We reached Manhattan, and it was filled with an organized chaos. Street vendors were at every corner yelling to get people to notice their delicious foods, and what looked like thousands of cars lined the streets. People of every size, shape, color, and ethnicity were walking on the sidewalks in masses that looked super difficult to navigate.

I heard a chuckle from beside me, and I looked over at a highly amused Collin. He reached over and gently closed my mouth, which I didn't even realize was open.

"You are such a newbie," he says affectionately. I cross my arms in annoyance, momentarily forgetting the scene outside my window.

"Well I'm sorry, mr.pop star, if I've never been here and want to enjoy the amazing and culture of it." I say haughtily. He laughs and hugs me as I, unsuccessfully, try to fend him off.

"Aw, don't be mad at me Steph. I just find your reactions endearing. I've been here so many times before that it doesn't mean much, but you remind me of the magic New York can hold."

By the end of his speech I've stopped fighting him, and when I look in his emerald eyes at the genuine and sweet expression in them, I can't help but smile. He's just so sweet!

"Aww, you two are so cute! When's the wedding?" Noah says.

I spring apart from Collin, and he glares at Noah.

"Shut up peanut." He tells Noah, and Noah's cheeks turn red with embarrassment a as he glares back at Collin.

"ONE TIME! IT WAS ONE TIME AND YOU JUST WON'T LET IT GO!" He yells at him. Collin leans back in his leather seat with a smug grin, and Amy, Jess and I look at them with confusion. Blake and Collin look at each other with amusement, then Collin turns to us girls.

"You see girls, once when we were fifteen, Noah and I were playing video games. Now, keep in mind that Noah is terrified of spiders, ok. So anyway, I go to kitchen and I get some soda and a pack of peanuts. When I come back, Noah was still playing and I had a genius idea! I got some toothpicks and stuck them in the shell of the peanut, then I tied the peanut to some very thin, almost invisible string and walked out. I walked near Noah and the beginning of the string was in my pocket as I slowly walked over to Noah. When I sat down, Noah looked over, and just as he was about to speak, he saw it and jumped unto the couch yelling that there was a spider!" He told us. He began laughing so hard he had to stop the story, and the rest of us laughed with him as Noah sat with a big pout.

Then Collin continues still laughing a little, "And then I said it's just a peanut, and he was like THAT'S NOT A FUCKING PEANUT COLLIN!"

He drops to the floor of the limo laughing, Blake is literally crying from laughter, and we girls crack up. Noah is glaring at all of us, but I can see that he's trying not to laugh.

Collin finally relaxes just in time to when the limo stops, and the driver comes and opens our door. I get out and gape with Amy and Jess at the huge skyscraper that is the Four Seasons Hotel. Even with the freezing cold temperature that seems even colder to me since I'm so used to the San Diego warmth, I still can't help but stand there and gape at the amazing structure and elegance of the five star hotel.

I look over at Collin who smiles secretively at me and says, "Do you like it?"

I gape at him. "Of course I like it you weirdo! WHO DOESN'T LIKE THE FREAKING FOUR SEASONS HOTEL!"

He laughs and brings me into a big hug and swings me around.

"I'm so glad! But this is just one of the many surprises for you, so be ready!"

I grin and tuck my arm into his, and together we make our way into the lobby with the rest of the gang. The doorman smiles knowingly at us, and I feel a blush make it's way up my neck into my cheeks.

We get to the reception desk, and a middle-aged woman in a prim suit with a scowl on her face looks down her nose at us.

"I'm sorry, I think you are all lost. The Jean-Luc Hotel is a couple blocks away." She says snobbily.

I see Collin's jaw clench and he brings both hands to the granite counter.

"I suggest you apologize to my friends and I before I call the owner of this place, who happens to be a family friend, and get you fired for your insolence." He says between clenched teeth.

The woman smirks as if she doesn't believe for one second that Collin was saying the truth. I worriedly look at Collin who's on the phone while glaring at the desk lady, and he hurriedly tells the person on the other side to come quickly.

The desk lady's smirk gets deeper and she looks at us like we're scum and completely beneath her.

"I'm going to have to ask you to move as there are other guests to attend to. Don't come back again and play this prank, because next time I will call security." She says.

Collin looks like he has steam coming out of his ears, and just as he opens his mouth, probably to tell the desk lady off, a tall and muscular man walks up to the desk with an angry expression on his face.

"What is going on here?" He asks desk lady. She gapes at him, completely flabbergasted, and his frown increases.

"Sir, these children came here saying they had a room, but luckily I'm smarter than they think. As if people dressed like them would have a room in the Four Seasons!" She says once she's regrouped.

The man turns red with anger and looks at her like she's gone completely crazy, which I wouldn't doubt after the short time I've been here.

"Ms. Shepard, this is one of our most cherished guests and a personal friend of mine, Collin Jacobs. He and his friends have the two presidential suites reserved. Maybe if you had taken your nose out of the air for a few seconds and checked them through the database, you'd have seen that!" He says furiously.

Desk lady, or Ms. Shepard as I just learned, looks like she's about to faint and she looks at us with a face full of fake regret.

"Oh dear, I'm so sorry! We've just had such a large number of children these days who teg to trick us into believing that they have reservations here. Let me get your room cards." She says with a fake smile, and she types something in her computer and swipes to two cards on the keyboard to activate them.

When she gives us the key cards the man in the suit gives her one more glare that promises a talk later, and then he he turns to us with a genuine smile.

"Hello! It's so nice to have you here at the Four Seasons Hotel! I am Daniel Samuelson the current owner of the hotel, but please call me Daniel. " He says to Amy, Jess, and I while shaking each of our hands. "It's so nice to finally meet you two, and I'm so incredibly sorry for what happened before with Ms Shepard. She's a bitter woman who can't really stand kids anymore, mostly because of an accident that happened before. I can't tell you exactly what happened, because it would be a breach of contact."

We all shared concerned expressions, but we nodded and he guided us into luxurious elevators that brought us to the top floor.

We got out, and Daniel led us down the hall to two double doors, and even those were works of art.

"Here you all go! Boys to my left and girls to my right. Each suite has three rooms each with their own bathroom and balcony, a living room, and a kitchen. I hope you enjoy your stay here, and please don't hesitate to call if you run into any other problems!" He tells us.

We all shake his hand, and then he excuses himself to do some work. The boys tell us to go wash up and relax, while they get ready and talk to Collin's mom about any obligations they might have.

I slide the key card in, and all three of us gasp as the door opens. It's absolutely amazing, and it feels like I've just entered the movie The Last Holiday where Queen Latifa enters her room and it looks like it's for royalty.

Once we've finished gawking we choose our rooms, and we go take showers and change into comfy PJs. We all meet up afterwards and decide to watch a movie before bed. It becomes a fight between Monte Carlo, and Rush Hour 3, and we finally decide to watch Monte Carlo today and Rush hour 3 tomorrow.

We sit on the plush couches with fluffy blankets wrapped around us, and we get swept away with the whirlwind romance of the girls. While Amy and Jess cry and laugh at certain parts, I sit quietly and feel the lyrics of a new song come to me.

I think about the elements of Grace's romance in the movie and how I feel about Collin, and the first words come to me.

Boy you make me feel so lucky

I think deeper about true love that was hard to overcome, and immediately I remember reading Romeo and Juliet in English. The next four lines come.

Finally the stars align
Never has it been so easy
to be in love and to give you this heart of mine.

I lick my chapped lips, and think intently. It isn't until a few seconds later that I realize the movie finished and the girls are looking at me with annoyed faces.

"You're thinking of a new song aren't you."

It isn't a question, because Amy knows me enough to know what my facial expression is when I'm songwriting. I give her a sheepish expression.

"Yeah, sorry guys." I say sincerely. "The words just started coming, and I didn't want to stop." Amy sighs.

"I know Steph. Now, the only way we're forgiving you is if you go and get your guitar and sing what you have so far. And bring your notepad for if we come up with more stuff."

I nod excitedly, and run to my room to get my stuff. I go back to the living room where the girls have gotten some lemonade and a variety of cookies from the kitchen.

"Explain to me why we're drinking something like lemonade even though it's night time and it'd be so much easier to simply drink hot cocoa?" Jess asks. Amy and I laugh as I put my stuff down.

"Because, if I'm going to sing I can't have something dairy like hot chocolate or ice cream, or it'll coat my vocal cords and make it harder to sing. Things like lemonade or cold water are much better, because they just soothe." I tell her.

She pouts and we all crack up again, then I get my guitar and strum until I find a good start to the song.

"Ok so, I'm going to sing what I have so far, but it is very little so bear with me." The girls nod and I get started.

Boy you make me feel so lucky
Finally the stars align
Never has it been so easy
To be in love and to give you
This heart of mine

I stop and make sure to write the words on my note pad, then I look at Amy and Jess who have thoughtful looks on their faces.

"Well?" I question. "What do you guys think?"

"It's a really great start, Steph." Amy says. Jess nods her head rapidly but can't speak since her mouth is full of cookies.

"I don't know what to put after," I tell them.

We brainstorm things on romance and love and relationships, until we've completed the next stanza.

You know what I need (aye)
I know what you like, (aye)
Put it all together baby
We could be alright (hey)
How can this be wrong
When it feels so right?
Yeah, I really love you
I really love you (oh)
And I'll never let you go...

I hear slow clapping from behind me and see Amy and Jess shake their heads. I look back and see the boys have come in without us knowing, and they've heard the second stanza.

"That was real good, Steph! New song or completed one?" Collin says.

"It's new, still in the beginner stages." I tell him. He nods with a thoughtful look on his face, and comes to sit down on the couch with me.

"So, I got a call from my mom, and she says the studio wants me to come in tomorrow and discuss doing a duet with someone. How would you like to finish this song with my songwriter Stan while I talk with them?" He asks.

I stare into his warm emerald eyes, and I pinch my arm discreetly to make sure I'm not dreaming.

"Collin that would be awesome! Thank you!" I yell. He laughs and hugs me, then we look over to the other couch where Amy and Jess and the boys are looking at us with curiosity.

"Jess and Amy, you guys can come too. You can get a tour from Blake and Noah." Collin suggests. The girl's eyes light up, and they bounce up and down excitedly while Noah and Blake laugh at them.

"Alright then, it's settled. We need to be at the studio at 10 a.m. so be ready to roll 30 minutes before so we can stop and get some breakfast first." He tells us. We all agree, and the boys bid us good night and return to their suite.

I got to bed with a huge smile and dream of stars and romance in the moonlight.

****

We're all sitting in the limo from yesterday in big jackets and warm clothing, and we're cleaning crumbs of our breakfast from a Cuban eatery in Manhattan that Collin treated us to.

I look out the window, and I wonder what people think when they see the limo passing them by. Do they think big corporate names are in here , or maybe just teenagers on their way to a dance?

I ponder this until the limo stops in front of a big building with a huge sign on the top proclaiming it to be Royal Studios.

We step out, and Collin leads the way into a marble floored lobby where he checks us all in with a plump old lady at the desk. We head to the elevators and we unzip our coats, already getting too warm from the heaters in the building. The doors close, and instead of the usual elevator music, one of Collin's number 1 songs begins to play. I smirk as I watch his cheeks get bright red, and he glares at all of our smiling faces.

The doors open, and Collin practically sprints out of the elevators with the rest of us laughing behind him.

We walk until we reach an office surrounded with glass, and Collin enters and speaks with the man seated at the desk. He's the kind of man I always stay away from. Cold, almost black eyes, severe facial expression, and a lithe body encased in a maroon tux. He exudes the kind of power that's only ever taken by force and pure evil genius.

I shiver in fear, and I look around and see the same uncomfortable faces on the rest of the group.

Collin comes back out looking pissed off, but gives me a tight smile that doesn't fool me for a second. I let it go since he clearly doesn't want to talk about it, but I make a mental note to talk to him later. He walks us through a series of halls, and opens the double doors we encounter to reveal a huge studio and two guys working a song on a computer.

They look over at us and smile at Collin whose face brightens at them. They do the man hug that all guys seem to do, and then Collin introduces them as Stan the songwriter and Mike the producer. Mike tells us he's the one who deals with auto tune and making the songs sound the best they can both in instruments and vocals.

Collin leaves the rest of the group with Mike, and brings Stan and I to an adjoining room.

"So Stan, Steph here is an amazing songwriter and singer." Collin tells him.

Stan looks at me with surprise and intrigue, and I fight to not blush.

"I mean, I'm okay. I just like the process of it, and then singing my result. I don't see myself making a career out of it though." I say to Stan. He taps his chin thoughtfully.

"You have anything with you? I want to judge what your "okay" is." He says. I nod laughing a little, and Collin brings one of the guitars sitting on the side wall. I put the guitar in tune, and get my notepad out from my messenger bag. I take a deep breath and sing what I have so far with the guitar.

Boy you make me feel so lucky
Finally the stars align
Never has it been so easy
To be in love and to give you
This heart of mine

You know what I need (aye)
I know what you like, (aye)
Put it all together baby
We could be alright (hey)
How can this be wrong
When it feels so right?
Yeah, I really love you
I really love you (oh)
And I'll never let you go...

I look up at the grinning faces of Collin and Stan, and watch as they both clap.

"Steph, that was great! I just can't believe you don't want to do this for a living! You're an amazing singer, and judging by what you have so far with this song, you're an amazing songwriter too." Stan tells me earnestly.

I blush at his praise, and I feel my heart swell. A great songwriter is sitting in front of me telling me my songs are amazing! Please, God, don't let this be a dream!

"Guys I've got to go to the meeting with me mom and the directors, but I'll leave you to brainstorm the song, alright?" Collin says. We nod, and when he leaves, Stan immediately gets started on finishing the song.

We write with that romance and true, hurting love in our heads, and soon enough the song is done. Stan leans back in his chair, and taps his chin thoughtfully.

"Have you thought of adding a rap at the beginning and towards the end?" He asks.

I tilt my head and think over the idea.

"I don't think I'm opposed to it, but I'd need to hear it first and see if it fits." I say finally.

He grins and takes out his phone, then calls someone and tells them to come to the songwriting room. An attractive African-American teen comes 5 minutes later, and I recognize him as the up and coming rap star Drey Fields.

Stan fills him in on the song, and they brainstorm together until they have the stanzas they want do for the beginning and the end. We run through the entire song one time with the rap included this time, and when it's finished we high five each other in joy.

"Steph, would you allow me to record you and Drey singing this?" Stan asks. "I'll put it on a CD, and it'll be my Christmas present to you. Your proof of the your hard work paying off."

I think about it, and I realize there's really no harm in it. So I nod, and Stan gets up excitedly and leads us back into the recording studio. He tells Mike that Drey and I are going to record a song, and Amy and Jess squeal with excitement. I laugh, and sit next to Mike with the gang, and we take the next hour to get the actual music ready with some musicians that were in the building.

Once we've gotten the soundtrack ready and Mike has cleaned it up to sound smooth and crystal clear, Drey and I get into the sound booth. Drey gets his harmony done first, then I do mine. Once we've gotten those ready, we sing the song completely.

(If you wanna party, if you, if you wanna party)
Then put your hands up (put your hands up)
(oh oh ooh oh)
(If you wanna party, if you, if you wanna party)
Then put your hands up (put your hands up)
You got it, you got it babe
You got it, you got it babe
You got it, you got it babe
You got it, you got it babe

[Drey]
Okay, this, this, this one
For my number one girl
Who got the top spot title
Spent an hour in the bathroom
Walked out looking like a model,
God! Doing what you do,
Got me right there with Apollo,
On the moon (moon)
Who needs genies in a bottle girl
If they already got you
(Got you, I got you)

[Steph]
Boy you make me feel so lucky
Finally the stars align
Never has it been so easy
To be in love and to give you
This heart of mine

You know what I need (aye)
I know what you like, (aye)
Put it all together baby
We could be alright (hey)
How can this be wrong
When it feels so right?
Yeah, I really love you
I really love you (oh)
And I'll never let you go...

You should know
I'm never gonna change
I'm always gonna stay
When you call for me
I'm right there (right there)
Right there (right there)

'Cause you listen and you care
You're so different
No one compares
And if you never change
I'm gonna stay right there
I'll always be right there

You got it, you got it babe
You got it, you got it babe

I get butterflies, just thinking
About you boy you're on my mind
Sometimes I catch myself daydreaming
Lost in your eyes and I lose all track of time

You know what I need (aye)
I know what you like, (aye)
Put it all together baby
We could be alright (hey)
How can this be wrong
When it feels so right?
Yeah I really need you
I really love you (oh)
And I'll never let you go...

You should know
I'm never gonna change
I'm always gonna stay
When you call for me
I'm right there (right there)
Right there (right there)

'Cause you listen and you care
It's so different
No one compares
And if you never change
I'm gonna stay right there
I'll always be right there

[Drey]
(What, okay, what)
Now if it all fell through
Would you catch me before the pavement (what)
If my Benz turned back to public transportation
Would you still be at home for me with the candles waiting (what)
And get my mind back adjacent to the place of a young visionary
A player too
You know I have some girls missionary (oh)
My black book of numbers thicker than the dictionary
And Bible I got it recycled
I love and I like you
Five course meals even though you don't mind a drive-through
That's why I got you

[Steph:]
And I'll never let you go... (I got you)

You should know
I'm never gonna change (I'm never gonna change)
I'm always gonna stay (I'm always gonna stay)
When you call for me
I'm right there (I'm right there)
Right there

'Cause you listen and you care
You're so different
No one compares
And if you never change
I'm gonna stay right there
I'll always be right there

(If you wanna party, if you, if you wanna party)
You got it, I'll always be right there
(If you wanna party, if you, if you wanna party)
I'll always be right there
You got it, you got it babe
You got it, you got it babe
You got it, you got it babe
You got it, you got it babe
Got it babe.

We finish the song, and I grin at Drey and laugh. We hear the door to sound booth open, and Collin steps in and claps slowly with a mischievous smile.

"Well, well, well. Look who just recorded her first song." He says.

I blush and he laughs and congratulates Drey and I. Drey tells me he had a great time, but he has to go, so I hug him in thanks for his help and he leaves with a goodbye to everyone else.

When I walk out of the sound booth, Stan smiles big and gives me a hug that reminds me of when my dad would hug me before my mom died.

"Steph, you were great! It'll take another hour for Mike to clean up the song and make sure it sounds crystal clear. Why don't you kids head down to the cafe across the street while you wait?" He tells us.

We all agree, and after saying goodbye we all head to the cafe. I'm so over the moon from what I got to do today, that I'm not paying attention to where I'm going, until I ram into someone and spill their coffee.

"Oh no! I'm so sorry!" I exclaim. I look up at the person and see a fit man clad in navy blue tax, and his face has a jaw so sharp it could cut marble, high cheekbones, an aristocratic nose, and familiar green eyes that I just can't place. I put him in his mid-twenties.

"It's quite alright, miss." He says in a deep, smooth, and cultured voice. "No harm was truly done. I don't even particularly like this suit."

I laugh in relief, and the gang laughs at my clumsiness.

"Honestly, Steph, I leave you for one minute and you manage to spill the coffee of someone and ruin their tux." Collin says in a mock scolding tone.

I scowl at him and he laughs, then turns to the man I spilled coffee on to find him smiling at us fondly. Collin opens his mouth to say something, then stops and cocks his head to look at the man like he's seen him before but can't place him.

The man clear his throat, and looks away quickly. After sending a quick smile to me he leaves the cafe, and Collin looks at the door where he's left still looking confused.

"Hey, what's wrong?" I ask. He shakes his head as if ridding himself of a stupid thought, and looks over at our curious faces.

"Sorry guys, I just got this weird feeling, almost like I know him, but the memory won't come to me." He says.

We smile tentatively and bring him to the counter to order food with us. We eat and talk until Collin gets the call that the song is done, and we all walk back to the studio.

It isn't until I'm falling asleep at night that I realize why the man at the cafe's eyes looked so familiar. They're the exact same shade of green as Collin's.

Unknown POV

I stare at the man across from me, knowing that he's nervous and isn't far from giving in to my demands.

"Sir, you don't understand, I am not the owner of the company. Even if I were to give you my shares, they aren't enough to give you the majority." He says.

I grin evilly and he shifts uncomfortably at it.

"Don't worry Harold, I know that better than you. They aren't stupid enough to make you the majority shareholder. But I have a plan, and your shares are a part of it. You need money, and I'm willing to pay the current stock value for your shares. So, what do you say?"

He takes a deep breath and nods. I tilt my lips slightly and push the papers he needs to sign toward him. He signs nervously, and I stand up and shake his hand after taking the papers.

I walk out the room and allow myself the smallest of grins. Everything is coming together. Don't worry Collin, I'm almost there.
