Six kids have killed themselves since the start of the year.

The first two, Brandon Odell and Deon Carl, hanged themselves shortly after September, dying side by side while swaying on the lone tree outside the school... all night long. Two tall stools were found the next morning, tipped over.

The third victim, Trina Wade, Deon's girlfriend, shot herself with her father's gun just a day after learning her love was dead.

The fourth death, an unknown student (whose parents wished for anonymity in the newspaper), stabbed herself many, many times before she passed out from shock. She later died from extreme blood loss while at the hospital. This was in early October.

Teen number five was Ben Nash, who jumped off the school rooftop after he had simply, quote, "had enough." He only lived to the end of the same month.

The final death so far, Elizabeth Lynn, grabbed a pair of scissors and gored herself in the main school hallway, in front of dozens of people. Just before blacking out, she was able to end the pain altogether by stabbing herself in the head. She lasted to the first days of November.

There was a study at our school a few days ago, after the whole Elizabeth thing.

The so-called - quote - "experts" said that over 70% of us teens at Oakley High were - and I once again quote - "depressed."

What a bunch of crap.

I mean, yeah, sure, it's true, but for them to just plain come out and say that a whole bunch of us are depressed... it's dumb.

I'm not joking when I say that it was literally in the school bulletin, front and center.

Many people have wondered why so many of us are sad.

No one truly knows. No one ever will know.

Until some scientists can probe one of our heads open and donate a brain to science, we just won't figure it out.

That's why I decided to do something.

I tried to see if I can make something that can help people.

I wanted people to be happy.

I just wanted the suicides to stop.

Those thoughts - and many others - eventually led me to make the Suicide Book.

No, not the book you're reading right now, silly!

The Suicide Book is a collection of all the studies, observations, and inspirations that I found during the period I had been given.

It currently sits in the library, where anyone can check it out if they choose to do so.

As for me, I'm rather proud that I made it.

I've been personally told by several people that I've saved their lives.

While I just brush it off and say something like "Oh, it's nothing, really!", I do truly think that I saved some people from self-harm - or even worse.

But my book, and the journey I had to take to make it, wasn't that simple.

Here, come take a look...
