Seven.
Wow I haven't updated this in over two months... I'm so sorry for taking so long. I was a little stuck on other stories and ideas and completely forgot about this one! 😅
Feel free to go back and read the previous chapter, but I will include a little recap of last chapter here:
•••••
"Yeontan did a great job today! Normally I teach the new motions in person, but I will send you a PDF copy of everything Yeontan is working on instead. He has almost fully accomplished sit and lay down. But, um, anyway, we're done for today." Jungkook spoke quickly, like he was in a hurry. I watched as he bent at the waist in a slight bow before giving me a nervous smile.
"Um, so are we okay for training tomorrow or do we want to reschedule for later in the week?"
I sighed.
He's too nice. Don't push him away, Taehyung. Don't you fucking do it.
I shook my head.
"I will just message you if we need to set up another appointment time." I pulled out my wallet, pulling out a blank check that I had folded up, as well as a pen. I bent down so I had my knee to write on, scribbling out the amount I owed him plus a little extra, signing my name, and folding it in half.
"You are paid in full."
I picked up Yeontan and began to walk off, not even turning around for the small sniffle and the tiny whisper of
"Goodbye, Tae."

Now on to the new stuff :)
•••••
I had dug my own grave this time around.
I finally had the opportunity to make a new friend in Jungkook. We had actually really hit it off, getting along real well.
Until I fucked it up, of course. Just like I always do.
I always screw up the best things in my life. I tore apart my family. I always distanced myself from any potential friends. I drove my family away from me. I always felt alone.
Sure, Jimin was around. And yeah, I had Yeontan now. It wasn't the same.
Jimin and I met each other ten years ago, and hit it off as friends immediately because we both felt like we were alone in our own ways. But he wasn't able to fill the void by himself.
This time felt different though from any other times I broke off any ties I had with someone.
This time I felt even more alone and empty than normal. I felt hollow.
I set Yeontan down when we arrived home, hearing the pitter patter of his small paws against the hardwood floor. I tossed my keys aside, not even bothering to aim for the counter, and I lay down on the couch, draping an arm over my eyes with a heavy sigh.
Why am I such a failure?
Why can I not let any one person care for me, even the slightest bit?
Am I destined to never be happy?
I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket, making me reach down and ignore the call, tossing my phone lightly on the ground.
Why did I push Jungkook away?
In fact... why have I pushed everyone except Jimin away?
I thought back to when Jimin and I met. I was covered in mud, crying on a park bench in the rain when the rain stopped above my head. I raised my head to see a small boy holding an umbrella over my head.
I had felt ashamed in that moment, I remember. He saw me at one of my lowest points, maybe that's what makes Jimin different.
I sighed, grabbing my phone to see three missed calls from a number I recognized as Jungkook's. He continued to call, and he even sent a few texts. All of which, I ignored.

Lol sorry it's short. I'm already working on the next chapter!
