Chapter 7

The sound of soft voices and carefully placed footsteps caused Wren to stir, opening her eyes carefully she glanced around while barely moving. The sight of three coats caused Wren to wince, this sudden movement caused the gazes of others to turn to where she lay helplessly against the cold stone floor.

"She's awake," Came a hushed voice somewhere nearby, attempting to sit up Wren winced in agony as she sat against the wall holding her bandaged wound.

"How are you feeling?" A green coated man questioned softly, instantly Wren recognised it as Arno.

"As fit as a horse, OF COURSE I'M IN PAIN!" She spat angrily, Arno winced at her tone but didn't move.

"Look I'm sorry my medical abilities aren't the best but your friends did pitch in where they could," he stated, the fact that her clan had helped these assassins was a shock to her.

"Let me die already, maybe then my cold dead eyes will ring a bell for your stupid brains!" She grumbled as she examined her wound closer, Altair soon joined the green assassin as the two looked at her confused.

"What do you mean?" Altair questioned softly, Wren felt tears burn her eyes and threaten to spill down her cheeks.

"I thought of you as brothers, we ran together, we fought together, we killed together, apparently I wasn't that important to any of you for you to forget me, that day you left me in the snow the Templar's saved me, Red was one of them, he fed them snippets of false information I fed them and while they were satisfied and I was healed he got me out of there, where were you!?" Wren snarled kicking out her legs knocking both assassins back before jumping to her feet, the sudden movement caused the wound to start bleeding once more but Wren could care less. Altair stood stunned as if memories had frozen him solid, Arno had tears in his eyes while Ezio stood frozen with shock. The moment Altair snapped from his trance Wren began to cough and heave, blood trickled from her mouth in a steady stream as she tried to hide the pain. In a flash the white assassin was by her side holding her stomach as he helped her sit down once more, Arno had raced away to get something or other while Ezio went to get help.

"Has bullet brained stupid finally figured it out?" Wren heaved, Altair looked at her golden eyes which were filled with so much pain and agony it hurt him too.

"I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have listened to Connor, we were so shocked at the fact they managed to shoot you, the pain of losing you hurt me more than it did the others, if it wasn't for Arno and Ezio dragging me with them I would have happily let them shoot me, all this time I was so lost without you, then we killed Red and even with your mask of hate I felt the pain in your heart," Altair almost seemed to sob as he rocked the fragile woman between his arms, a soft chuckle escaped her chest before a cough soon followed.

"What did happen to Connor?" She wheezed, Altair shook his head slightly.

"Templar's found us soon after you vanished, the shot Connor in the head before any of us had the chance to react," he mumbled, a rush of footsteps signalled the others had returned. Gritting her teeth Wren held back a gurgled cry, the world began to spin and twist before finally fading into a dark and horrible black.

**Time Skip**

Altair paced the hall anxious of the results, he had been pacing for hours ever since he had been shoved from the room. He hated the fact he had been left in the dark on updates about Wren, after all that's happened her life was a fragile thing not to be taken for granted. The sound of a door opening caught his attention in an instant, spinning on his heel he turned to face Sara one of Wren's trusted friends from her clan.

"How is she!?" He blurted out before he could even think, Sara chuckled softly before motioning to the door. Without another word Altair rushed inside to see Wren sitting in the medical bed with tired bloodshot eyes, at the sight of Altair she let off a small smile. A soft crying came from her arms which caught her attention, Altair made his way to her side as he stared into the eyes of his newborn daughter.

"I want to name her Alkina," Wren chuckled hoarsely, Altair smiled proudly at the fragile child held in his loves arms.

"A perfect name for a perfect child," Altair agreed, the two sat together in silence as Alkina slowed her crying to a stop.

Despite all that had happened Wren had found the heart to forgive Altair, she missed Red greatly but she knew he would watch happily from wherever he was. The days to come were peaceful and filled with joy for the clan of assassins, most would split off to live normal lives but Altair, Wren, Arno and Ezio could never return to normal lives. Once a true born assassin, always an assassin. Time would tell the future for the assassins and the Templar's but for now all was silent, silence however was never something to dwell on for too long in fear of going deaf and blind to the true nature of the world. This is where this story ends, a happy ending promising great future for those involved but also promising great danger and heart ache for those involved. A fire burns high until it is forgotten, than it becomes dangerous and once truly out of memories reach will become a danger to the world it burns so close behind. In the light of a new day a clan of assassins will rise, will you be one of them?

Hello everyone and yes this book is short but I started this ages ago and wanted to finish it, I will however be doing an interactive assassins creed book where everyone will be able to create their own assassin and through many commands will write their own story, every action will have a consequence however, I will announce the name of the book in the next little snippet of a chapter.
