Records of Andlenore

The inception of the Order of The White Capes was inevitable. The only variables were when and where. I, as the Priest of Andlenore, consider myself fortunate, that it formed with not only me as witness but under my guidance.

To grasp the inception of The White Capes in a thorough fashion, one must first know about Wilbur Glidron. Little is known about his past, save the fact that he is of humble origins. How he happened to come to the Capital City is not known, nor is it relevant here. He was trained for the army in the Capital City, and had sworn his sword to the King. Wilbur Glidron came to Andlenore serving under the Giant of Nimbleville. When The White God made his presence known to Andlenore, he was among the first to rise against the Giant. Wilbur Glidron was the one who killed the Giant of Nimbleville.

It was then that Wilbur Glidron finally found a path in his life. The White God himself had illuminated that path. He was the sole survivor among his platoon. Upon his recovery from the intense battle against the Giant, Wilbur Glidron came to the temple of Andlenore. He realised that his oaths to the King were but hollow words for his devotion lay elsewhere. As the Priest of Andlenore it is not only my duty, but also my responsibility to guide those who follow their beliefs. I freed him from his oaths under the benevolent eyes of the Old Gods and the New. Wilbur Glidron swore his sword to the service of The White God.

Wilbur Glidron became the creator and the very first member of the Order of The White Capes.

The blacksmith of Andlenore, Vincent Dihlin, forged a sword of pure Gladinstone for the servant of The White God.

Wilbur Glidron, thus, embarked upon his journey to be the strength and be the means of the strength for those who follow the path of The White God.

The people of Andlenore had their faith strengthened when Wilbur Glidron rose for the cause they believed in. Those capable of wielding a weapon swore their might to The White God and assisted Wilbur Glidron in his path.

As the Priest of Andlenore I sent out religious missionaries to nearby towns. In the little venture, Dolin Smith, became a kind sponsor. The results were fruitful. Many people were enlightened about the new illuminated path shown by The White God, some swore their swords and joined the Order of The White Capes.

Many of them are still inexperienced, yet their will does not waver. Wilbur Glidron has taken the responsibility of training each and every sword irrespective of their origin. A man who once joins the Order of The White Capes is considered an equal irrespective of birth place, race or otherwise. As of now, the Order of The White Capes has twenty four swords.

I and my disciples set to the task of interpreting the will of God. While The White God could have easily destroyed the town he did not, his message is not that of destruction but of creation. While destructive forces are necessary at times in order to maintain peace. Therefore, if a sword must be lifted to protect what we love, we must not be afraid to do so. The platoon was given that courage to rise against the Giant. While the God left Andlenore he spread mirth and healed the souls and bodies of everyone equally, including some of the platoon. Therefore, those in his path must be treated all as equals. His path shown is open to everyone. Moreover, as the platoon was healed and there was a survivor the message must not be interpreted as a sign to rise against the King. But that if the King tried to deviate them from their faith even he must be treated equally in bearing the penalty.

The temple itself didn't face almost any damage even before God started reconstruction. The Gods in the temples are the Old Gods and the devotion to them must definitely not waver.

The path shown by the White God is one of mirth and light;
Where one must uphold what is right.

These interpretations were discussed with Wilbur Glidron, who accepted them to be sound. He inculcated them in the Order of The White Capes, and so were formed the rules that all the members must follow.

Every member of the Order of The White Capes and every person following the path of The White God must be treated as equal.

All other religions must be respected and the freedom of other people.

No injustice against the followers of The White God must go unpunished.

The Order of the White Capes must not be confused with the temple of The White God. While the journey remains the same, the functions differ. I, as the Priest of The White God, and my disciples, enlighten the people about the path, God has shown us. We clarify any remaining doubts and reaffirm their beliefs, show those who have wavered the right way. The Order of The White Capes is military in nature. They swear to protect not only their own faith but also of those who follow the same faith. They are the shields and swords not only for their minds but also their bodies.

They are the defenders of the Light.
