So now Aqua had to go with those kids, she couldn't bail on an engagement like that, what kind of impression would that make? Probably not a good one.

"Wow, you already got some friends Ava that'll be nice to have even if they don't go to the same school as you." Gabby said and Aqua shrugged,

" I dunno, I guess."

"It'll be fun don't worry friends are great!"

"I'm sure it will be i've just never had more than one or two friends. Nor have I really been that social so it's new for me you know?"

"What is up with me?" She asked herself, "I have never been this social before."

"I totally understand." Gabby said, "Like Noah used to be super shy and stuff, well at least I think he was, mom says he wouldn't tell anyone his name because of how shy he was." Noah shrugged, he didn't seem to care about his past much.

"So you yourself were never shy?"

"Nope, Gabby is my name social butterfly is my game." Gabby said the name proudly she sounded like she was to get an award from it. Aqua didn't know how to respond nether did anyone else so she decided to go up to her bedroom after she finished eating her lunch. No seemed to talk at lunch after that, it was all quiet, someone might have said a word or two but the others were blankly eating their lunches and didn't respond.

"Thank you for the lunch." Aqua said to Abby while clearing her plate.

"Don't expect lunches for every weekend I only did this because it's your first one here."

"Ok I won't" Aqua left handed Abby her plate who was placing dishes in the dishwasher and then left for the stairs where she went and found the right book for the Percy Jackson series and started to read.

The next day Aqua woke up tense and scared, "I have to hang out with Brooke and Daniel today," then Aqua got the shivers, "I don't want to hang out with them today, I want to stay inside and read forever and ever," Aqua decided that she might as well stick it up since that it's rude to bail on the last minute. Well it really wasn't the last minute, but it was 8:30 and there were 5 hours until they came to pick her up. Today Aqua wore a pineapple tank top some slightly ripped jeans and her black Nike shoes. She put her hair up in a high ponytail which took awhile even with the many YouTube videos she watched.

April 26th, 2017                                                   Dear Diary,

So today I'm going with Brooke and Daniel to Sonic, but I really don't want to go. Noah gave them the house number without telling me and yesterday they called it and invited me to go with them today to Sonic. I really don't want to go, I'm more of an introvert, I prefer to read and spend time with myself, I love me time. But noooo Noah had to exchange numbers with them. Sometimes I feel like he just wants to rid himself of me so he just makes me feel miserable! Quit it dude I'm sorry my dad is a jerk and I ran away, I couldn't take it. And now I'm starting to cry, I miss Maria, but she's changed I miss the old Maria, the one who was carefree and never listened to the principal or counselor. The one who I told my deepest thoughts to and never judged me. I had to leave, Papa was treating me like an old rag doll who was tossed in the trash. Maria and I didn't even go to the same school anymore! But sometimes I wonder what my mother was like, Papa never talks about her. He also told me once about something called the "ending". He kind of shivered I guess... He said a little about it saying no one can remember before that time. That's all. There's more to it that he never told me I know it, but I guess it hurts him every time he talks about it. I'll tell you more about how today went when I get home.

She got up and even though was sure no one was around, quietly put her diary in her safe spot where no one would look to find it. Then she went downstairs and saw Noah on the couch reading a book. It was paperback and looked like it had been handed to him from an old library that was closing. Aqua wondered what book he was reading but decided that the less interaction with him the better off she'd be. "Morning," he said half interested when reading his book. No one else was in sight except him, Abby was outside tending to her garden and Aqua guessed that Gabby and Wyatt were in their rooms sleeping or playing on their gadgets.

"Umm what is there for breakfast options,"

Half interested yet again Noah said, "Pantry," Aqua walked too far and was about to open the garage door when Noah said

"No, to your right," Aqua looked at him puzzled he was reading excitedly but still knew where she was standing? That was a it strange, he even looked like he could care less about his surroundings and yet still knew where she was. Noah kept directing Aqua with his directions without looking at her once.

"There you go." He said after a few minutes of hot and cold,

"There is some cereal in the pantry and milk in the fridge so just get a bowl and a spoon and you're good." Aqua obeyed his directions still puzzled but gave it up. There were six options of cereal, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Fruit Loops, Apple Jacks, Lucky Charms, Frosted rice Krispies and Hot Nut Cheerios, plus plain old oatmeal. Aqua chose Apple Jacks, those looked the best to her. Plus, there was a funny apple dude on it.

Aqua sat down on the bar where the marble countertop was. She poured milk in the bowl and then the cereal. But then realized that maybe she should've put the milk in last because there was way to much of it. She blankly ate while Noah read his book.

"Good morning Ava," Abby said as she came in with a bright blue bucket that had a thick white rope attached to it for a handle, fill with ripe red cherry tomatoes. Even though the bucket had a handle Abby wasn't using it, on account of there being too many tomatoes.

"Are you excited to go to Sonic with uh your friends," Aqua shrugged

"I dunno I really wasn't expecting much from them, since I met them at the park and all."

"And now since they've called you?"
Aqua shrugged again, "I don't know either, I never had more than one friend."

"Well time for a change I guess? Right?"
"Yeah I guess..." Abby glanced over to see Noah reading a book,

"What are you reading over there Noah,"

"The Maze Runner,"

"Interesting" Abby said,

"Mmm" is all Noah said, some kids might ignore you with a phone, but Noah ignored you with a book.

"Well, I'm going up to my room to read,"

"Ok, but I want you down here at 1:00 so that when they come over you can go right away." Aqua didn't see what the big rush was but she agreed.

Until about 1 Aqua read her book in her room and then brought it downstairs to read, until Brooke and Daniel picked her, up.

DING, DONG! The doorbell went, and Aqua set her book down and answered to door.

"Heyyy! Ava! Ready?"

"Yeah," Aqua said in her most energetic voice as possible, Daniel was standing next to Brooke just waiting to go.

"Hey where's your mom? Err adoptive mom?"

"I'm right here,"

"Oh yeah, we're going to the beach later, is that okay?"

"Yes it's fine by mean, oh but Ava doesn't have a swimsuit,"

"Oh that's ok, she can borrow one of my old ones."

"Ok, oh and Ava here's this in case something happens." Abby quickly jogged over to the kitchen and came back with a flip phone,

"It has all our numbers programed in it."

"Ok," And after that they all left. And there was a silver minivan waiting for them.

"My mom is taking us today," Brooke said, "Since Daniel here is too special to get us private service,"

"Stop, he said, I don't want people to be friends with me just because I'm rich."

"Chill dude, I'm only teasing you." They all got in the car and talked on the way to sonic, Daniel was actually talking for once. Parts about funny things they did as kids, and parts about his annoying twin sister he has.

"Here we are," Brooke's mom said, when she said that Aqua thought she had seen that woman before somewhere but couldn't picture where. Later she just left it alone.

When they went inside and ordered their slushies, Daniel ordered a Green Apple slushie and Brooke ordered a Grape slushie. Aqua saw so many flavors she didn't know what to pick but she saw Blue Raspberry and though that it looked good and ordered that.

"So Ava, if you don't mind me asking where are you from?" Brooke asked

"Ummm well my parents died when I was really little so I really don't know."

"Oh, that's uhh sad." Aqua shrugged it's all she knew how to do and react to things like that.

" I really don't care about it that much so...."

"Let's talk about something else." Daniel offered and so they did. About a half an hour later they finished their slushies.

"The beach is just around the corner let's go and get Ava my old swimsuit and then go." They all got up and followed Brooke and she got a swimsuit covered in brightly colored flowers, and in the parts that weren't covered in flowers, there was a plain bright orange color. The swimsuit itself was a one piece suit.

"Let's go inside the bathrooms and you can change there." Brooke said then Daniel started to lead them into the bathrooms.

"This is really confusing." Aqua thought when she was trying to put on the swimsuit. After about 5 minutes she finally figured it out. And within that time she also realized what clothes she doesn't need to wear with it. Which took awhile for her to grasp.

"Are you ready Ava?" Brooke asked when Aqua just finished,

"Yeah sorry it took me awhile to figure out how to put this on." The Aqua walked out of the bathroom stall.

"Why did it take you so long?"

"I've never worn a swimsuit."

"Why! How?"

"We didn't ever swim at the orphanage."

"Oh, I guess that makes sense. Come on we don't want to make Daniel wait anymore than he has to."

"Ok," The two walked out and Aqua's ponytail was a little looser than it was before she put the swimsuit on."

"What took you so long," Aqua was tired of telling everyone the same story. Why can't it be when she updates one person she updates everyone?

"We'll tell you in the car." Brooke said, "That is if you don't mind Ava?" Brooke turned and looked at Aqua for approval.

"Yeah, sure why not?"

When they all got in the car Brooke told Daniel about why Aqua never had worn a swimsuit before and he understood.

"Ok guys, you can stay here for about an hour then we got to go." Brooke's mom said.

"Ok," They all said and then left with their towels, Brooke brought an extra one for Ava.

"I could've bought my own towel you know."

"Yeah, I know, I just didn't think about that until now." They all sat their towels in the middle of the beach and started walk to the water.

Aqua, being that she was once a mermaid was a really good and fast swimmer.

"Ava, how are you so fast?" Daniel asked, Then Brooke noticed something about Aqua while Aqua was walking to her towel.

"Wait! Ava stay there!"

"What?" Aqua was standing in the one foot deep water.

"Ok, Ava now sit down with your legs just lying in front of you. Not criss cross applesauce like." Aqua did what she asked.

"Daniel come over here." Brooke signaled to Daniel, while she was walking to Aqua.

And then Aqua saw it.
