Chapter 32

Author's note: Please listen to the song above as you read this chapter. It's titled Nothing's gonna change my love for you by George Benson ❤️

Ore's jaw slackened as she took in the sight in front of her. Golden colored lights were hanging in a criss cross pattern above her head, it reminded her so much of Christmas celebrations back home. A wide circular pool with gurgling water and stone marbles encircled around was ten feet away from her.

People stood in groups dressed to showcase the level of their wealth and influence. Glass cups filled halfway with whatever liquor was poised high in the air. High back chairs were carefully arranged in a corner where there was a silver banister with several steps leading to the house entrance.

Ore tried to take everything in, she turned to stare at Dami marveling at the different range of cars parked in the driveway. Dami looked at her with slightly parted lips and furrowed brows.

"Do you like my surprise?" He muttered fixing his eyes solely on her.

Ore bit softly on her lower lip, her face was beaming with smiles. "I love it," she stated pulling Dami in for a sensuous kiss. Thunderous cheers resounded around them as Ore pulled Dami in for a sensuous kiss and they parted after what seemed like hours. She fought to calm her racing heart as Dami's gaze darkened.

The bulge in his slacks was noticeable and Dami shuffled his feet before slipping a hand into his pocket to adjust the length. He tried but failed as he hissed and stormed off, leaving Ore to stand awkwardly with his guests.

Loud hip hop music came on at that instant and Ore heaved a sigh as she walked over to begin the painful torture of introducing herself to his friends. After a few handshakes and pleasantries were exchanged, Ore felt her head swirling for a moment. She was about excusing herself when steady arms were slipped on her waist.

Ore inhaled the scent of Dami's cologne and turned to face him. He had changed into a sweatshirt that hugged him about his broad shoulder and a flabby trouser. "What the hell are you wearing?" Ore asked snickering at the hideous outfit.

"Shhhh." Dami placed a hand on his lips in a bid to silence her before pulling her to him and breathing on her neck. "I need you to be mine so no fraternizing with my male friends, I would simply introduce you briefly to them and then we quietly slip away okay?" Dami muttered the words so close to her ear and Ore shivered lightly before nodding in affirmative.

She was tired of trying to be friendly anyways. Dami tugged her along with him to where a group of his friends were laughing loudly and grinding their bodies to the beat. Ore counted five girls in their midst who were smoking pot and twerking their asses on the floor. What a fucking show, Ore thought.

As they spotted Dami, they began cheering him with his weird nickname and clinking their glasses together. Dami burst into a fit of laughter as he gave them bro hugs all over and watched the girls who were shaking their asses in silent admiration. He gestured Ore over and held her close to him, he could see the way their flirty eyes were drinking every inch of her plump body.

"Hey guys, this is my babe and Ore meet my men them." Ore smiled and waved shyly as Dami teared her away, she flared up in anger. "What the hell do you mean by me being your babe Dami, do I look like a conquest to you?"

Dami shot up his arms in defense. "I was only saying the truth, look I don't wanna ruin the surprise but later you are going to find out okay?" He placated Ore with a peck on her cheek before he dispersed into the crowd. Ore sighed and signaled a uniformed waiter holding a tray of glasses.

She needed a drink to calm her nerves because Dami was driving her crazy. After her third glass of champagne, she felt her head settle and she plopped on one of the chairs. "Hey," a girl said slipping into the seat opposite and crossing her legs.

Ore jolted, turning to where the voice came from and color drained from her face. "Tami, what are you doing here?" Tami drained her glass and flicked her wavy hair to the side. She clucked her tongue and chuckled. "There is no party without me, you know that right?"

"Ohhh, so Dami invited you huh? I should have known." Ore found Dami giving off some crazy dance moves at a far distance and her heart squeezed at the sight. "Yeah he did," Tami stated following Ore's gaze. "He seems to like you very much." Tami's voice trailed off and Ore could swear there was a tinge of jealousy reflecting in her cat eyes.

"Hmmm, why do you think so?" Ore placed a hand on her chin, drumming the other on her lap in sync with the beat. Tami smiled faintly and rubbed the back of her neck. "It shows you know, in the look he gives you, the way he tries to make you comfortable with his friends, the way he acts really possessive about you."

Ore nodded and slumped in her seat. "Are you drunk?" Tami quizzed and Ore laughed.

"Do you think I am?" Ore signaled the waiter for another glass. Tami twirled her hair around her finger as she spotted a guy who just arrived in a two piece suit with polished shoes and a well trimmed hair cut. She licked her lips as the guy's gaze subconsciously found hers and she uncrossed her legs and slid from the seat.

"Gonna make me some money," she called behind her shoulder, her red floor length gown getting immersed in the noisy mass of intoxicated bodies; helplessly inebriated.

"Great," Ore muttered sipping her drink. She wanted to talk to Tami about what happened the other day but she couldn't bring herself to start the topic. She had a lot to say to her, things she had been keeping in her mind for so long but there hadn't been an avenue for her to air it out.

Ore guessed all that would have to wait till a later time when she was ready to spew the beans. She sat upright as she saw Tami leaning on the guy's chest as he kissed the top of her forehead. They were all lovey dovey, his other arm was around her while he sipped his drink and laughed at whatever Dami was saying.

Ore remembered the way Dami peppered kisses on her neck and she squirmed in her seat, wanting nothing more than his attention on her. As if he read her mind, Dami slipped a hand cooly into his pocket and turned to stare at her. He smiled briefly as he made his way over to her.

Suddenly, the music slowed to a soft tune and the crowd began to disperse as a dance floor formed. Dami held a hand out to her and bowed. "I know I am not properly dressed but would you care for a dance, milady?" Ore gulped down the rest of her drink and took his hand catiously sidestepping because of her high heels.

"Of course, I would love to." They linked their hands together as they graced the floor where other couples were already swaying to the beat. Dami slipped a hand around Ore's waist, drawing her closer to his warmth.

Ore swallowed, there was no guy that had the same breathy effect like Dami had on her. They started with a slow dance before Dami brought up the waltz step and Ore followed. She missed her step countless times and almost fell flat on her butt if not for Dami securing his hold on her. Ore laughed once more, feeling her head spin with the music as she tried to drift apart.

"Why can't I get the moves right?" She complained, stamping her foot on the ground and the lights went off. Ore gasped. A lot of protests rang out from the crowd and amidst all the chaos she heard a deep splash of water.

"What the hell is happening?" Ore asked darting here and there in the darkness with tears filling her eyes. She felt the air for where Dami once stood but he was nowhere near. The sound of glass shattering by her side jolted her and she feverishly ran into someone's strong arms just as the light came on.

Ore looked up at Philip with concern etched on his features. She slowly turned with mouth agape. Dami was on his knees, a silver ring with polished diamonds glinting in the dim light.

"Will you- be my girlfriend Ore?"
