Chapter 51
Sorry for the filler chapter but I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things here ;)
(Your POV)
The door opens and I see Hope holding her pug out in front of her.
"Abby and I welcome you. Brian and Craig are playing Just Dance in the living room for some odd reason and pizza is on the way." I pet the pug as I walk in the house and see that both Brian and Craig are indeed in a heated Just Dance battle.
I walk over to the living room and set my overnight bag on the couch and sit down next to it. Hope sets Abby on the ground and sits on the couch next to me as she watches the two guys dance around like idiots.
"LOOK AT ME! I KEEP GETTING PERFECTS HERE!" Brian cheers out as he playfully bumps into Craig. Hope smiles as she looks over at me.
"So this is it as of people that are coming here. After we're done eating and everything, we're going on a drive to Wilmington for a haunted bus ride. That's what we're going to be doing for my birthday." She says with a smile. The song ends and both Craig and Brain look at Hope and I.
"You're not inviting Evan?" I quietly ask Hope. She gives me a confused look before standing up and pulling me up with her.
"We'll be back you two." Hope cheerfully says as she pulls me in the direction of her bedroom. I was able to grab my bag before she dragged me too far away.
She quietly closes her door and crosses her arms. "Spill it, what did Evan say? You've been tight-lipped about it and I'm tired of it." She gives me a concerned but worried look. I set my bag on the ground and sit down on the bed. She stands in the same place, still looking at me. I look down at the ground and begin to talk.
"I tried to push myself onto him... I was stumbling around his room when I found a box of condoms and opened it and basically passed out... nothing happened that night." I shrug.
"Well... if he didn't do anything then that's good, right? We can make up and act like-" I look up from the ground and at Hope.
"Until he said that he wanted to be my first, as in... you know?" I cut her off, "and to be honest I don't know how to react to that." I cross my arms now. She lets out a quick small laugh.
"Well the dumbass made it obvious he likes you now. So I would take it like that if it helps, and if you like Evan back good, great, you guys can actually date then. If not then I would say something to him at least." I sigh as I take a glance once more at the floor and nod my head.
"I still need a little bit of time to think, but... once I know you'll be the first that I tell, I promise." I look up. She gives me a smile and nods her head. I smile back and get up from her bed.
"Oh, by the way, your birthday present is in my bag." Without hesitation, she gets into my bag and pulls out the unwrapped presents. She pulls out the two shirts as well as the gift card and receipt and sets them on her bed before pulling me into a hug.
"Thank god now I can stop wasting so much money on just one t-shirt there." She lets go of the hug and heads for the door.
"Do you feel better talking about it now?" She looks back with an evil smile on her face. I roll my eyes and give her a smile back.
"If we want Evan to come we need to tell Brian and Craig. Let's just hope that Brian won't act like a bitch because of it." She walks out the door and I follow.
The song ends as Hope and I stand in front of the T.V. blocking their view.
"We're letting you know that we're inviting Evan over as well," Hope says instantly glaring over to Brian. I look as Brian scoffs and looks over at me.
"After what he said you're still gonna let him over?" Brian asks. I cross my arms and nod my head.
"I wanted the truth and he gave it to me. Yeah, I didn't want to hear that but I wanted to hear the truth and I got that. He's still my best friend Brian, you heard it yourself, nothing happened." I watch him take a deep breath before slowly letting it go.
"Okay, you're right," he almost says it defeatedly. "I'll apologize to him when I feel like it though." He crosses his arms as well but at least gives me a half-smile. I give him a bigger smile back.
"As long as you apologize to him soon I'm happy, thank you." Hope sighs with relief as she pulls out her phone.
"Thank god I'll send him a text now." She goes back to the couch and sits down.
It didn't take long for Evan to show up as well as the pizza soon after. At first, Brian and Evan were distant with each other which was to be expected, but slowly Brian started to warm up to Evan, and eventually, they were talking with each other again. We all ate and then all took Hope's car to Wilmington, all of the guys in the back seat while Hope and I sat in the front. Since he got here, Evan's been quiet, especially with me. I thought everything would've been at least a little bit better but I guess I'm wrong
"So tell me why someone as tall as me has to sit in the back where my legs don't have enough room to stretch," Brian complains. I turn back to look at him with a smile on my face.
"Because no matter if Hope's driving or I'm driving if we're in the car with the other, we're in the passenger seat with each other. Doesn't matter if our boyfriends are in the car with us or not." I see him roll his eyes as Evan turns over and looks at him.
"It's true it's why I'm always in the back seat when us three are going somewhere." He exclaims to Brian. Evan gives me a quick look before looking back out the window again. At least it's something.
Once we found a place to park we started making our way to the long ticket line. Hope stops and turns to look back at us.
"Parents gave me money for everyone's ticket so don't worry about that. Brian, Craig, can you guys go get us a spot in line while (Y/N), Evan and I get the tickets?" Hope asks. Craig nods his head and starts to go towards the even longer line for the ride.
Brian gives me a look before following Craig. Hope looks between Evan and me before heading to the ticket line. Leaving Evan and I behind. We slowly follow, Evan finally catching up to my side.
"Hi." He quietly says to me. Please let this talk be good.
"Hey," I reply back, "it looks like your bruises are fading away," I say looking over at him. He lets out a chuckle and smiled.
"I'm kind of used to how it looks by now so it doesn't bother me as much anymore. Anyways, how are you doing?" He asks. Oh god, here we go with the small talk. I stop as I go in and hug him.
"I'm sorry," I say into his chest. He wraps his arms around my back and pulls me closer to him.
"I'm sorry too (Y/N)." He gives me a tight squeeze before I let go of him.
