MEMORY
Maybe I could press delete,
Erase the ghost of who you were,
Memory by memory, piece by piece.
Open up the space you filled,
Reclaim the heart you held so tight.
Yet something stops my trembling hand—
You'd vanish from my history,
Our coffee mornings, stolen glances,
Unwritten now, as if they never were.
Reckless, this power to unmake
A person from my mind completely,
Shattering the proof we ever loved.
Each moment gone, each scar erased—
But then, who would I be without you?
Unraveling, I realize the cost:
Myself, undone. The answer's clear.
Keeping you means keeping me.
