"Wake up!"

Your eyes shot open as you sucked in a deep breath, finally snapping out of whatever stupor you had been trapped in. You felt pressure on your shoulders. You looked ahead, finally comprehending everything around you.

"Oh, thank god, I thought I'd lost you too."

Jules. You remembered her. How could you forget?

"Too?" you croaked. Why was your voice practically nonexistent? What was happening?

Now you could see the tears that streaked down her face. "They're gone," she choked out. "All of them. The...the power to their pods must have malfunctioned or-or something and they-" she was cut off by her own sobs. She gripped you tighter and buried her face into your chest.

And everything hit you like a ton of bricks.

Your team. They were frozen. You were all frozen. You were supposed to document the new world together. But...they were....

"Gone? All of them?" you quietly repeated. You slowly placed a hand on her back as your brain struggled to process everything.

They were gone. It was just you and Jules. Alone.
