"Brielle are you listening?" My mom sighed handing me a baby blue envelope. I looked up from my phone and blinked at her and shook my head.

"No...sorry." I closed my phone and took the envelope. It had my name in fancy lettering and smelled like expensive perfume. I opened the letter carefully and took the paper out. My lips moved as I read the letter to myself.

"Read it out loud, sweetie." My mom chuckled. I smiled and nodded my head.

"Dear Brielle Hansen, we are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted in to the prestigious school that is Westfield Academy." I grinned and squealed. "We are also pleased to tell you that you have a full scholarship. We were very impressed with your application and would be honored to have you as one of our students. Please note that orientation is August 20th, and we expect to see you there. Signed, Elma Foster, headmaster of Westfield Academy." I glanced at my mom and jumped up and down happily.

"This is so exciting! I'm so proud of you, Ellie." She hugged me. "A full scholarship as well! I don't have to pay a dime." She laughed. I rolled my eyes and looked back in the envelope. Three slips of paper remained tucked inside. I took out the baby blue sheet. It had a list of things I would need.

"Here... Looks like you'll be spending some dimes." I laughed. She read the list and frowned.

"A laptop? Preferably a Mac Book? Five uniforms... Each are 50 dollars?" Her jaw dropped. I shrugged and took out the remaining slips of paper. Two plane tickets to Seneca, Oregon. I had know clue where that was... I just sent a application in because I was recommended by my principle. She said one other student has been offered but I didn't know who. I didn't really care.

"At least we got free plane tickets! To Seneca, Oregon... Do you know where that is?" I ask her sitting down on a stool at the breakfast bar in the kitchen. My mom thought for a moment then shivered.

"Yep, I stayed for two weeks. It is very cold. You'll need plenty of sweaters...that fit this dress code..." She frowned.

"Who did you stay with?"

"I stayed with a friend, she doesn't live there anymore." My mom shrugged and handed the list back to me. "Guess we'll need to go shopping."

"Yep."

That was two weeks ago. Now mom and I are on the plane getting ready to land in Eugene, Oregon. My mom lifted her tray.

"Finally." She sighed, "I feel like we were never going to get there." I chuckled and glanced out the plane window. I could see city lights in the distance.

"Miss, if you could please turn off your music until we land, please." A flight attendant motioned at my earbuds. I grumbled and paused the music and closed my phone. The tarmac was quickly approaching. I held my ears and winced. I can't remember the last time I wa son a plane.

"Doing okay, Ellie?" Mom rubbed my back. I nodded my head. A few minutes later and the plane landed, the pilot doing his normal thing and people grabbing their bags. Mom and I waited until the rush died down before we got up and got our stuff from the overhead compartments.

"Elle? Can you get my purse for me please?" She pointed to her purse.

"Sure." I grabbed it and walked down the small isle and out into the airport. I looked around and and waited for my mom to get out. "How long is the drive to Seneca?" I ask her, walking towards baggage claim.

"I don't know, we are getting picked up by the drivers for the school." She said checking her phone before following me.

"Do you think everyone will be rich and snotty?" I frown getting on the escalator. My mom laughed.

"Probably... But hey, maybe you'll get to meet the one other kid from your school." She patted my shoulder. We lived in Hawaii. Honolulu to be exact. I wasn't excited for seeing snow for the first time or being cold for the first time. I don't even know what cold felt like. We grabbed my luggage and walked outside, immediately greeted by a blast of cold air. A yelp escaped my lips and and pulled a jacket on tighter.

"Great." I chewed my lip slightly and waited around for a car to pick us up. A baby blue Mercedes pulled up a chauffeur climbed out and held a sign that read, 'Ericsson' I glanced at it puzzled. I've heard that name somewhere. I couldn't put my finger on it. I dwelled on it for a moment until another identical car pulled up and a man held up a sign that read 'Hansen'.

"That's our ride, Mom." I nudged her and hauled or luggage over to the car. "Hello." I smiled at the driver. He tipped his head and took my bags and put them in the trunk of the Mercedes. He opened the door for my mom and I and we buckled up and looked at each other.

"You'll be fine." She smiled and patted my head. I rolled my eyes playfully and watched out the window as we pulled away. As we did, I saw someone with deep brown hair walk over to the first car and get in, followed by a man with graying hair. He looked oddly familiar, but I brushed it off and focused on the road ahead.

"Here we are." The driver said as we pulled into a large school parking lot filled with an array of Mercedes, all baby blue. I looked around and saw many children with one parent by their side, walking and looking around. The campus resembled a castle. In fact, it was surrounded by a deep valley, with a large and fancy bridge. It had shops stores surrounding the main building, the school. It basically was Hogwarts. I gaped at the building and took a deep breath.

"Wow..." My mom whistled. The car pulled to a stop and we got out. The air smelled like pine and it was really cold.

"It's freezing!" I groan. The chauffeur overheard me.

"It's only 40 degrees." He shook his head chuckling. I blush and take my bags, which there were only four, one was my carry on. A group of girls walk pass me, giggling and talking to one another. They were all wearing the uniform and all had cups of coffee.

"Hi!" I give a small wave. They all stop talking and look at me. A blonde one raises her eyebrow an opens here mouth to say something, but is cut off by a brunette.

"Freshmen" she rolls her eyes. They laugh and walk away. I frown and turn to my mom, who was on the phone, talking to someone.

"Uh huh, got it. Two days? Well, I'll see but no guarantees. Okay, thank you! Bu-bye." She hangs up the phone and looks at me exasperated. "My boss wants me in San Antonio in two days."

"That's dumb," I shake my head, "he knows that you're here." A loud speaker turned on a mans voice rang out.

"Attention all freshmen and new students. The orientation begins in five minutes. Please say goodbye to you guest and walk towards the auditorium." I sigh.

"Well I guess this is it." My mom hugs me tightly.

"You don't have to go you know, you can still opted out." She whispers. I shake my head.

"I'll be fine, I promise. I will call every Wednesday! I love you!" I let go of her and smile.

"Love you too, Ellie. Be safe and no boys." She smiled back and turned to get into the car. I raise an eyebrow. 'No boys' I've never dated a guy before so that should be easy. I watched it drive off and start to tow my bags to the auditorium. I look at the ground as I'm walking, hoping no one will see my eyes start to water. I'm going to miss my mom and I'll be lonely because I don't make friends easily. I run into to someone, smacking head, and I fall backwards, landing hard on my bum.

"Ow!" I wince and rubbed my head. I squinted and looked at the stranger.

"I'm sorry... I didn't even see you there I was on my wa- Hansen?" I open my eyes up and my heart drops. The guy I was hoping to never see again.

"Felix."
