Just as Gabriel was about to tell me more about his past I heard one of my cousins call out. It wasn't a pleasureful cry either, Nelia was scared and screaming my name at the top of her lungs. Quickly I turned away from Gabriel and ran to where I heard her voice coming from. Running through the halls was something I did at the fastest speed I could. Turning to my left I saw Ahset about to try and take Nelia down.

"Stop!" I scream at Ahset as I run over and grab her wrists making her freeze on the spot. "What in the name of the gods do you think you are doing? What has come over you?!"

Ahset looks into my eyes and I can see nothing but dark. Her eyes that were once a beautiful blue were now a dark black color and that scared the living daylights out of me. Not knowing what else to do I pushed her away and kept Nelia behind me. After all if anyone needed to live through this it was Nelia.

"You think you are safe here in the palace?" Ahset said in a voice that was not her own. "You are sadly mistaken princess. We can find any of the royal family. You can easily be erased from the family as well."

Nelia held on tight to me and I was praying to Ma'at that somehow Gabriel would appear and possibly sneak up on her from behind. Still I was trained and I could fight if she tried to attack me. Just as I finished that thought a blade was all the sudden in her hand. I could feel Nelia's grip on my am tighten. Ahset screamed as loud as she could and lunged at us. Closing my eyes I prepared for the pain that was about to be inflicted on me. It never came opening my eyes I was stunned at the sight before me.

Tak stood before us and I could see the dagger that Ahset once had now in his arm. Why in the world did Tak defend us? I thought he hated me and wanted nothing to do with me. Ahset or whatever was possesing her stared at us in shock as well as Tak took the dagger from his shoulder and threw it to the side.

"Don't come near her." Tak says almost as if it were a warning.

"Sorry little man you are defending two people, do clarify yourself." Ahset replied with a chuckle.

"Never come near Neferure or Nelia." he said looking straight forward at her.

"They'll die and you know it. You are only preventing the inevitable. Besides I thought you prefered this vessel to the likes of them." she said and then quickly ran to the side grabbing the dagger that Tak had thrown away.

What in the world is going on? This is not Ahset I know that for sure. Just then I feel someone put a weapon in my hand just as Ahset tries to bring her dagger down upon me I am able to take the new weapon and block her.

"You seem to have the gods on your side Neferure." it says with a smirk.

"Then you had better fear for your life." I replied even though I only had one weapon I decided I would take on whatever this thing was head on.

Pushing it backwards I began to fight with the creature. Nelia ran off as fast as she could hopefully to find her father or my mother. Every time I attacked this thing it blocked me. Somehow I had a feeling it knew all of my motions and no matte what I did I was fighting a losing battle. Catching me off guard the creature grabs a spear and trips me making me fall backwards onto the ground.

"Any last words princess?" the spits at me.

"I will not die in vein." I yell back at the creature showing my courage until the bitter end.

The creature lifted the spear to kill me but both of us were surprised when and arrow went right into my cousins chest. Looking down the creature saw the arrow that pierced its vessel. Then it's vision quickly returned to me. Another arrow then pierced the body. It would still try and attack me I knew that but I felt someone quickly grab me and pull me out of the creatures way.

"You believe this will save her? A few arrows that can be healed after a time. No I will show you how to kill someone." the creature says and then takes the dagger and stabs Ahset's body right in her heart.

Watching as my cousins body fell to the ground I turned into whoevers arms I was in. What was going on? Did my cousin just kill herself of did a creature murder her? I didn't know what to think but if it was able to kill Ahset then will it be able to kill us as well? None of this made sense. Who or what could possibly have that kind of power.

"Neferure." I hear a calm and collected voice speak to me.

Looking up I see that I am in Gabriel's arms. He came to save me after all. Still somewhat shocked I look behind me to where the arrows came from. Tak stood frozen in the same spot with a bow in one hand and a new arrow in the other. Before I knew what I was doing I stood up out of Gabriel's arms and went right to Tak.

"Why?" I question Tak as his eyes now look at me.

"There are things you can not possibly understand. Princess." Tak simply replies dropping the bow and arrow to the ground. "You and Princess Nelia are safe...for now."

Standing in front of Tak I was awestruck. This man attacked me not too long ago and now he defends me to the point of which he could have been killed. Tak walks past me and I see something hidden in his robes. A necklace also hanging from his neck. I squint my eyes and can barely make it out but I can tell it is a Horus emblem as well. Why in the world do he and Gabriel wear the same emblem and why have I noticed it just now.

"Neferure?" I hear my mother's voice call out to me.

Turning around slowly I see the whole horrible sight before my eyes. Tak goes to my cousins body as his father walks over as well. The healer takes the dagger out of her body and hands it to Tak. That's when my body decides it has seen enough. My legs give in and I fall to my knees. Apparently I am not as strong as I imagined. I could hear people calling out my name and someone come to support me but all I could see and feel was blackness surrounding me. Had I really just witnessed my own cousins death?
