Chapter 13
(Y/n) P.O.V
This was it, I would get rid of the evidence. Lies or no lies, I was gonna do it.
I raced home and scrambled about to find paper. None.
I sighed and rushed to the nearest corner store to get some. I bought a notepad and pencil and quickly scribbled down a suicidal note and confession, explaining all the lies I had said.
At the bottom, I sines my name and left a small message for hiro:
"Thank you for everything, making me feel like there was something."
I removed my shoes and placed the letter in them, walking barefoot outside the shack like home.
If Hiro was smart, he could find my letter...eventually. I sighed before running out of the alleyways and onto the street, kicking loose Peebles with my toes.
I crossed a street and hid behind a trash can when I noticed the familiar white shape of baymax and blue hoodie of Hiro rushing through the crowd.
"Excuse me!!! Emergency! Excuse me!" He shoved everyone aside, rushing off down the street.
I shrugged it off, he was probably going to the Lucky Cat Cafe to get something.
I skipped across the footpath and headed up a hill until I saw the view of the San Fransokyo high way. Next to it was a footpath for those who would walk the bridge.
I ran down to the path and sprinted to the bridge, the footpath burning the soles of my feet.
I looked over the edge, waves crashed into jagged rocks and most likely sharks swimming.
I drew a deep breath and rested my foot against the railing. I pulled myself up and sat on the ledge, dangling my feet over the sea.
"Excuse me... Sweetheart you could fall." Someone called.
"I know..." I said.
"I suggest you move." They replied.
"No, I'm good." I smiled weakly.
"(Y/n), in serious." I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned to see the kind green eyes of Cass.
"What are you doing here?" I asked in shock.
"I could say the same for you... Get away from the edge, you could fall!" She exclaimed worried.
I turned and faked a smile. "Sorry I scared you... Here... Better?" I asked, hoping off the edge and walking to her.
"Why are you out here by yourself?" She asked.
"Oh... I usually come here to clear my mind... Start fresh." I explained.
"I was on my way home from grocery shopping, mind giving me a hand?" She asked, indicating to her parked car by the side of the street. Of course I said yes. I couldn't turn down Cass!
I walked back to the car guiltily. I was so close to succeeding... So very close...
I closed my eyes lightly and opened them, realising we had arrived at the Lucky Cat Cafe. I obviously fell asleep. I stepped out of the car and walked to the boot, unlocking it.
"Where are your shoes?" Cass asked, finally noticing my missing clothing.
"Oh um I lost them... They fell off when I sat on the bridge." I lied.
"We can replace them later." Cass decided.
I grabbed three shopping bags and walked hastily into the empty cafe, being met with Mochi.
"Hi little guy!" I smiled. The feline purred and walked off up the stairs to Hiro's room with ought a sound.
I went back to the car and unloaded the last of the bags when I heard thundering of footsteps rush down the stairs.
"What on earth-" Cass was interrupted by Hiro's face appearing.
"(Y/n)?" He asked in disbelief. His eyes were red and swollen and his skin was pink, he obviously worked himself up over something.
"What's wrong Hiro?" I asked worried.
"Sweetie, were you crying?" Cass asked.
"No I'm fine... Something was in my eye... Can I talk to you?" He asked. Cautiously, I agreed and followed him up the stairs.
"Where are your shoes?" He asked confused.
"Lost them." I lied. Hiro's eyes went wide in realisation of something.
"Oh... We can buy you some new ones later." He said uncertainly. I just nodded in response as we made our way back up to his room.
"What seems to be the problem?" I asked. Hiro took a deep breath.
"It's something really serious... Please be honest okay?" He asked. I nodded in response.
"Earlier today... We found you unconscious due to lack of air... Baymax did a scan and found out that you held your own breath in, why did you do this?"
"I didn't hold my breath... I promise you I didn't. It's not possible! I felt dizzy and my lungs started to hurt." I lied.
"Maybe you stopped breathing to decrease the pain?" Hiro suggested.
"Probably." I agreed.
"Could you explain about this then?" He asked, showing me a comic book.
"That's my story Fred illustrated." I responded. Hiro narrowed his eyes at the comic.
"Never mind then... How did Cass find you?" He asked.
"We bumped into each other." I said nonchalantly. Hiro only nodded. I could tell he knew there was more to the story, well I wasn't saying I was attempting suicide!
Hiro and I went silent for a while. "So..." I said awkwardly, trying to fill the empty void.
"So." Hiro repeated. Damn it! He was meant to think of something to talk about, not me!
We both eventually got interrupted by Cass calling for my help with customers, which I gladly took the opportunity to leave.
I left the cafe late at night, bothered that I was caught. I kicked a couple of loose pebbles on the ground when I decided to try again.
Seeing as it was night, no one would be there to see me. I returned home to check if the letter and my shoes were still there, they were.
I turned around to head back to the bridge when I heard a soft beeping sound.
Listening quietly, I traced the sound to a small red dot on my clothes. Inspecting it more carefully, I realised it was a gps tracker.
Shocked, I removed my jacket and threw it to the floor, racing out of the alleyway and hurrying over to the Golden Gate Bridge.
The traffic was quite low and not a cloud was in sight... Everything was, peaceful... Usually Hiro would be breaking this silence... Funny how he came to my mind...
I guess I miss him... He will be the only person I truly miss. But why? Now I just gave myself a question I don't know the answer to... Why would Hiro be the person I would miss?
Well... The memories I guess... Those special moments we had... Should be treasured... Cause you live life moving forwards... Not back... But I have no life, lying everyday, pretending to be okay... Agonising the pain even more by prolonging it.
I placed one foot on the edge of the bridge railing, hoisting myself up and placing my other foot.
Good bye cruel world...
I looked at the harsh sea, rocks with jagged edges pointing upwards, surely strong enough to kill me.
I drew a deep breath and hesitated slightly. This was actually it...
And then... I jumped.
