Chapter 7
(Y/n) P.O.V
I had never noticed how many cars were on the road and how many people were exactly in San Fransokyo until now.
We walked across a couple of traffic lights and turned right where I was met with the most epic sight in my life!
It was an entire school campus and in the entrance was a wide and tall glass building.
"Woah." I gasped.
"I know right?! And that's not even the best part!" Hiro squealed like a girl, grabbing my hand firmly and pulled me inside.
The interior design was simple yet stunning, a white marble floor with many corridors leading off into other private and public labs.
Hiro walked through one of the many hallways and opened the door. "Welcome to the lab." He grinned, walking in behind me.
"Woah! This place is absolutely positively amazing!" I squealed. I looked from afar at all the different inventions until he led me to a bike on suspension cables.
The bike was yellow and it's wheels where supported in mid air due to electric magnetic suspension. Hiro smirked as I gawked at the bike.
"Hey Hiro, who's this?" A voice asked. I turned and waved to a girl. She had short black hair with purple streaks and pink bubblegum.
She wore black leather pants and jacket with a white tee underneath, she looked like a tomboy.
"I'm (y/n)!" I smiled.
"I'm GoGo... Are you and Hiro a thing or something?" She asked.
"No, just friends... I work for his Mum." I said. GoGo was about to say something when Hiro dragged me quickly to another part of the lab.
"What was GoGo going to say?" I asked confused.
"I don't know... Anyways, this is the chemistry lab." He said. I looked at the different chemicals in tubes when a tall girl with honey blonde hair appeared. She had pink glasses and a yellow dress with a white Peter Pan collar.
She wore yellow heels to boost her great height and a white lab coat. "Ooh! Is this your friend Hiro?!" The girl exclaimed.
"Yeah, I'm (y/n)." I smiled.
"Nice to meet you! I'm Honey Lemon, the chemistry wiz!" She squealed. I laughed at her bubbly personality as a guy with dirty blond hair and blue eyes joined us.
GoGo walked by to another part of the lab as the guy with us started to talk.
"Hey little dude, who's this dudette?" He asked, pointing to me.
"Oh Fred! This is (y/n)!" Honey Lemon said. I waved happily.
"(Y/n), this is Fred but we call him Fredzilla because... He wants to be." Hiro grinned. I waved enthusiastically as we heard a scream of protest and GoGo running over to us.
"YOU DON'T RUIN THE ORDER!"a dark toned guy exclaimed, pausing when he saw me.
"Did I miss the introduction or something?" He asked.
"No, this is (y/n), (y/n) this is Wasabi." Hiro smiled. I waved hello to the oddly named male and giggled.
"What's with the food names?" I asked.
"Fred nicknamed them." Hiro replied.
"Oh, that makes sense." I replied. In the time of meeting Hiro's friends, I completely forgot about my fake life.
I felt like I was finally loving my real life. That all ended quickly though.
"So, tell us a little about yourself!" GoGo exclaimed.
"Well-" I started but was interrupted by Hiro.
"Her family is really rich and her mother is super famous! Oh and her dad gets payed twice as much as the government!" He exclaimed.
Everyone's eyes went wide at Hiro's words. "It's the other way round, my mother gets paid more than the government and my dad is famous in Italy." I corrected him.
All at once I felt like I drowned in lies again.
"Oh! Like Fred's family! They live in a mansion!" Honey Lemon squealed. Fred was RICH?!
"Yeah... I guess you could put." I agreed. I became uncomfortable with my lies, I was trying to keep away from Hiro, not get closer to him!!!
"So what made Hiro bring you here?" Wasabi asked.
"I'm helping her look for a college." Hiro explained. I nodded in agreement as the others started to fill up with excitement.
"Oh you should go here! It's incredibly fun!" Fred squealed.
"Easy for you to say! You just sit in that chair and eat pizza while reading comic books." GoGo frowned.
"You like comics?" I asked.
"Yep!" Fred popped the "p".
"Same! Though I'm more of a manga person." I admitted. Hiro smiled at me as many thoughts went into my head, I couldn't go here even if I wanted to! I was to close to Hiro!
If they would find out, I'd go to foster care and I am perfectly fine on my own! I promised myself that if I got to close to him I wouldn't turn up to work and I guess that's what I'm going to have to do.
I tried working with Hiro and not communicating but it failed, after next week, I would go back to stealing. I had decided.
Once Hiro took me back to the cafe, we bid good bye to each other and went out separate ways, I kept checking every so often to make sure Hiro wasn't following me and eventually got home.
I slumped into the couch and sighed heavily, wondering if there was something I could do to fix the situation I was in, unluckily nothing was coming to my mind.
I got up early and decided to relax, it was the weekend and my time off. I immediately heard a group of voices a few blocks away.
"She lives near here!" I heard a familiar voice call.
"Well if she is rich, she sure lives in a sad neighbourhood." Another voice called.
"Please, (y/n) must live in a mansion near by! She can't live in an abandoned shack!" A female voice said.
My heart raced as I heard my name. I rushed to get ready and scrambled out of my home.
I quickly walked closer to the voices and pretended to bump into them. "Oh! Hi guys... How did you find my neighbourhood?" I asked.
"Hiro showed us the way." GoGo said, patting Hiro's back.
"We just wanted to see how you were going." Hiro exclaimed.
"Oh! Just... Dandy." I said slowly.
"Can we see your house?!" Fred asked.
"Uh... Maybe not today, my parents got back from a business trip and are really tired." I lied.
"Oh that's okay... Want to hang out with us at the Lucky Cat Cafe?" Wasabi asked. Hiro looked at me hopefully.
"Uh... No I'm sorry... I need to buy a present for my mum's friend's.. Birthday party." I fibbed.
"Oh well, maybe next time, it was nice to see you though." Hiro said, looking down at the ground, obviously upset.
We all walked out the alleyway and separated ways. Of course I had no party, I just walked to the park and sat on the lonely swing.
I really needed to keep away from Hiro and the gang, they were nice and all but if they found out I was alone, they would send me to an orphanage for sure.
Maybe I needed to move cities again.
