Happy Reading!!

Walking into the house where the party was at I clung to Alex's hand, memories of the last time I went to a party hitting me full force. I knew I had nothing to worry about with Alex by my side but I just prayed nothing went wrong tonight. I always seemed to attract trouble so hopefully tonight none of that happened.

One good thing though was seeing everyone was dressed up just like we were. The further we walked into the house the more I noticed that we had some of the best costumes compared to everyone else.

The music was loud and the house was jammed pack with people. I didn't recognize any faces which came as a relief. The last thing I wanted was to run into anyone from school.

By time Alex and I made it to the other side of the house the rest of the group was no where to be found. No doubt Lexi and Nico were off in some corner doing god knows what. Derek was probably already in the kitchen grabbing a drink with Olivia nearby to make sure he didn't do anything stupid. Noah was most likely talking to someone he knew since this seemed to be all kids from his school.

"I know parties aren't your thing so we can leave whenever you want to." Alex bent down near my ear to talk over the loud music. While parties weren't my thing I wanted to be here. I wanted to act like a normal teenager and go to a party with my boyfriend.

"Dance with me." I looked up at him smiling. A smile appeared on his face as he nodded. With a tug on my hand he lead us towards the makeshift dance floor. We found a small corner where we wouldn't bump into anyone.

While the music was more bouncy, Alex wrapped his arms around my waist and tugged me against him. I brought my hands to his shoulders as we started to sway. The last time I danced with Alex I was pretty much drunk off my ass and we weren't together. So in a way this was our first time dancing as boyfriend and girlfriend.

"You know I think purple hair fits you."

"Yeah? Think I should dye it?" I smiled up at him.

"I could get behind it." He brought a hand up to play with a strand of my purple wig, curtsy of Olivia.

"Maybe one day I'll show up to school with permanently dyed hair." I teased. "Would you get matching hair with me?"

"Think I could pull it off?" He raised an eyebrow at me. I pretend to look him over while humming.

"Eh."

"Wow thanks." At his dry tone I grinned. Even if Alex dyed his hair bright purple he'd still look hot.

"We both know you'd still have girls falling at your feet."

"Not my fault I'm easy on the eyes." He smirked. I rolled my eyes but my grin stayed on my face.

"Theres the ego."

"You love it." Alex's eyes sparkled as he bent his head down. I didn't argue as he pressed his lips to mine. My fingers moved up to his hair and laced through the soft strands as he softly kissed me like we were the only two people in the room.

We swayed to the music as we kept kissing. I was lost in the feel of Alex. When we eventually pulled away he rested his forehead against mine, catching our breath. My fingers played with the hair at the nap of his neck while his softly gripped my hips.

"I don't think I'll ever grow tired of kissing you." He murmured.

"Then don't stop." The words left my lips before I could stop them. My eyes snapped open surprised at myself. My cheeks flushed as Alex looked down at me.

"You are too adorable." He said before he kissed my lips once and then again. "Now lets really enjoy this party." Alex grinned, a similar one appearing on my face.

* * * * * * * * * * *

Smiling so much my cheeks hurt I weaved through the groups of people towards the kitchen. My mouth was beyond dry and I was sweating from all the dancing. The past hour thats all Alex and I have done. Dancing and laughing so much my cheeks and stomach hurt.

For the first time I was actually enjoying being at a party. I was letting loose and just going with the flow, something I hadn't done in a long time. And damn did it feel good.

Alex and I had been in our own little bubble as we danced. The others were off doing their own thing but occasionally I'd see Noah off talking someone, and catching glimpses of Nico and Lexi who were mainly making out against a wall. Derek and Olivia had disappeared somewhere.

While we danced a few girls kept looking at Alex and one even made the motion to come over but I quickly planted my lips against his, stopping her in her tracks. When the girl glared at me all I did was smirk and kiss Alex again. My slight jealousy was coming out but when Alex noticed all he did was smirk and kiss me back. Almost like letting me know he was mine.

I had promised him I'd be right back as I headed to the kitchen. When I glanced over my shoulder I grinned when I saw Alex was talking to Noah. I knew I didn't have to fear any girls hitting on my boyfriend. I knew he would tell them he was taken.

Pushing through the sweaty bodies I stumbled into the kitchen. I took a step forward and looked up only to freeze. I took in the sight before me before my lips slowly curled upwards.

In front of me was none other than Derek....and Olivia. The pair were currently making out. Olivia was sitting on the counter and Derek was standing between her legs. Finally.

I had a feeling that something would happen tonight between them, I just wasn't sure if it would be good or not. And clearly it was good. I wondered who made the first move. Not wanting to ruin their little moment I silently backtracked out of the kitchen.

With a giddy grin I turned on my heel ready to tell Alex what I just saw. He had told me to stay out of it and not interfere with Derek and Olivia, which I had, but seeing them kissing in the kitchen...I just had to tell him.

Once more pushing through the crowds to find him. Finally I saw him standing where I left him still talking to Noah.

"Alex!" I yelled over the music. His head jerked up towards my voice as I came to a stop in front of him.

"Are you okay?" He looked me over with wide eyes. Yelling his name was probably not the right thing to do but I was too excited to care.

"I'm fine but guess what I just saw." I looked over at Noah with a wide grin. The two of them look at me in confusion. "Derek and Olivia are making out in the kitchen." I bounced on my toes as I said it.

"Seriously?" Alex's eyebrows raised in surprise.

"Didn't think the guy had it in him." Noah shook his head.

"How exciting is this!" I gushed. "They can finally admit their feelings and start dating." The two of them shared a look which I ignored. How could we not be excited about Derek and Olivia. The two have been pining after each other for so long!

"Maybe try not to get too excited in case its just them being drunk." Alex went to say but I shook my head. I wasn't going to let him burst my little bubble.

"Trust me they will be officially together by next week." Before either of them could say anything else a new voice interrupted us.

"Well, well, well who do we have here."

I turned around at the slightly familiar voice. Standing there was a guy who seemed familiar but I couldn't quite place him. He was smirking but there was something in it that made me take a step back.

Alex arm came around and wrapped around my middle, tugging me into his chest. Noah stepped up beside him glaring at the guy.

"It's been a little bit." The guys eyes landed on me and looked me up and down. It took a minute but it finally clicked. Marcus. The Marcus from the club months ago who I ended up punching. I had completely forgotten about him.

"What are you doing here Marcus?" Alex demanded his voice hard. I didn't need to look up to know he was glaring at him.

"Can't a guy enjoy a good party?" I hated the way he smirked and stared at us. There was something off about him and I didn't like it one bit.

"Leave before this gets ugly."

"Now why would he do that?" Another voice chimed in. This time my entire body locked up. Coming up behind Marcus was Mitch.

His eyes immediately landed on me and the corner of his lip curled. I hated that I shrunk under his gaze. Just one look from him and every ounce of confidence I had disappeared.

"Lingston what are you doing here?" I could feel the tension in Alex's arm that was around me.

"Just hanging out with some friends. Apparently you have already met Marcus."

"Go harass someone else." Noah said through clenched teeth. From the corner of my eye I could see he was just as Alex.

"Aw but we haven't even gotten to the fun part." I wanted to smack the smirk off of his face so bad.

"Want a repeat of me punching you?" I found myself saying. I could tell by the raising of his eyebrows that I surprised him. "If I remember correctly I've punched both of you." I looked over at Marcus. "I have no problem doing it again."

"Someone gained a backbone." Mitch all but sneered.

I had known something was going to happen tonight. I had felt the pit in my stomach earlier and should have listened to it. Of course Mitch would show up when I was having a great night. It was like he had a radar for knowing when I was happy.

I was tired of letting Mitch run my life. Of always being scared he'll do something and not allowing myself to be happy. All because of him. Because of some stupid 'alpha dog' authority he think he had on me. I was so tired of it.

"Looks like Kinley has forgotten to put a muzzle on you."

"Looks to me it is you that needs that muzzle." A voice said from the side of me. I tried not to smirk as Lexi and Nico came up and stood beside us. Lexi was staring at Mitch like he was nothing more than dog shit at the bottom of her shoe. She may have been shorter than him but right now she was the one staring down at him.

"Who the fuck are you?" Mitch glared at Lexi who looked so unfazed. "Listen here you bit-"

Before he could finish that sentence Nico stepped forward. While he may still be dressed in his Descendants costume he still looked intimidating as hell. He towered over Mitch as he took a threatening step forward.

"I dare you to talk to my girlfriend like that again." Nico's voice was low and deadly. I had no doubt Nico would beat the shit out of Mitch if he wanted to.

A few of Mitch's friends came up behind him as Mitch took a step forward. I had a sinking feeling that Mitch wasn't going to back down. I had hoped he just give up and leave but by the look on his face that was the last thing on his mind.

From the way Alex's arm tightened around me, and when Nico grabbed Lexi and put her behind his back I knew things were about to get ugly. Tension seemed to build with each passing second we all stood there, staring at one another.

Mitch took another step forward a smirk starting to pull at his lips. I just stared at Mitch as Alex grabbed me and moved me behind him. All it took was another second before suddenly Mitch was lunging for Alex.

As soon as Mitch threw the first punch chaos erupted. All of Mitch's friends came forward ready to fight. Noah dove in along with Nico.

I stumbled back as a guy got close to me. I didn't know what to do as I stood there watching the guys fight. The room was emptying as kids pretty much ran out of the house, not wanting to get involved.

All I could do was stand there watching feeling completely useless. Alex was fighting Mitch because of me. And same went with Nico, Noah and now suddenly Derek.

Seeing Alex receive a hit to the cheek from another guy coming up at him I knew I had to do something. If any of them got hurt because of me I couldn't live with myself.

Watching as Mitch came towards Alex I clenched my hands into fists. I was suddenly seeing red. I was going to put an end to this whole thing. Mitch was finally going to learn I won't take anymore of his bullshit.

I heard Lexi and Olivia say my name as I stepped towards the fighting but I ignored them and dove head first. I may not know what I am doing but I wasn't going to leave the guys by themselves.

I headed straight for Alex and Mitch. They were both facing away from me and I could tell Mitch was saying something to Alex by the thunderous look on his face. Before either could see me I gritted my teeth and jumped right onto Mitch's back.

"Get away from my boyfriend you dick." I yelled, wrapping my arms around his neck.

Mitch stumbled at my sudden weight on his back, clearly surprised. I noticed Alex looking at me in surprise as well as I clung to my horrible ex.

"Get off of me you bitch." Mitch jerked around trying to get me off but I tightened my hold.

"Do you know how shitty my life has become because of you! All because you are an asshole who really hates himself and has to make others miserable." I said through gritted teeth. "I am tired of you and your dick less self."

Everything I have wanted to say to him was now spewing out. All the anger for what he has done to me. Done to my life.

"You are always going to be alone." I got out just as he slammed my back hard into a wall. The wind got knocked out of me at the hit and my grip loosened around him.

Mitch jerked out of my hold as I fell down to the floor, my back aching. I looked up and Mitch towered over a murderous look on his face.

"You little slut. You will pay of this." He brought his foot up as if to kick me. I flinched back but before he could he was swung around. I only had a split second to see it was Alex before he punched Mitch right in the side of the face. Mitch stumbled back.

"Try that again and I'll make sure you are eating out of a tube for the rest of your life." Alex threatened. I've never seen him look so angry, not even when I saw him in the fighting ring. But nothing about it scared me.

Blood dripped down his face from a cut on his eyebrow. His lip was cut and it looked like a bruise was already forming on his cheek. Maybe I hit my head because him standing there looking like that I found myself finding him even more attractive.

He leaned down and helped me up. Despite the murderous look on his face, his eyes softened as he looked me over. I gripped onto his hand as I noticed Mitch taking another step towards us.

All around us I noticed most of his friends were either laying on the ground or leaving the room. Mitch was pretty much alone. Alex stepped in front of me as Mitch glared at us, daring him to try anything.

Nico, Noah and Derek came up to the side of us; flanking Alex and I. I could see Mitch's eyes glancing between us all. His jaw clenched as if he was seriously thinking of taking all four of them on to get to me.

The music had stopped at some point and in the distance I heard the sound of sirens. Oh no.

Mitch heard them too as he shook his head. Still glaring at us he took a step back.

"The bitch isn't worth it. Never was." He spat. With one last look at me he turned and took off out of the house.

I slumped against Alex in relief, praying that was the end of Mitch. That he wouldn't bother me or my friends again. But one can only hope.

The sounds of sirens got closer and I glanced around at everyone. All seven of us stared at each other frowning. There was no way to get out of the house before the cops came.

Shit.
