Chapter 2
It was like a feather duvet bursting in the sky.
I gasped in delight as the snow began to fall magically. Miyu giggled and stuck her tongue out as if she wanted to eat it. Lui simply tipped his head up to the sky and let the flakes fall across his face.
When he looked down again, there were perfect white feathers on his eyelashes and eyebrows. He looked rather like Jack Frost, but intimidating.
I could here other sounds of happiness from the other passengers. Snow is simply wonderful. Valt had gotten lost many times when we were younger while we were playing with snow. I couldn't blame him, though.
'Attention passengers!' the driver's voice boomed over the speakers. 'Since the snow that has recently begun falling, we would like if you come aboard in fifteen minutes, as the snow will soon clog up the tracks. Thank you.'
The fifteen minutes passed quickly. We mostly ate and chattered about the upcoming national tournament, how idiotic and funny Valt could be and exchanging our social media. The train's whistle tooted, signaling the train was going to leave soon.
'We better leave soon,' I said, standing up. Miyu agreed and skipped back to the train, in a happy mood having made two new friends. I looked back, and saw a pair of royal purple eyes trained on me. 'What is it?'
Lui blushed a little, pink dusted slightly on his cheeks as he looked away quickly. 'Nothing. You just having some sakura petals on your white hair is all.'
He gently reached up and touched my hair and brushed the petals into the breeze, floating gently away. I was glad my face was already pink with the cold. 'C'mon, let's go. We need to watch Miyu. Who knows, she could be recording us right now.'
'She probably is recording us right now.'
We made our way back into the warm and toasty comfort of the train. The lights had been switched on now, the train being much brighter now.
Miyu spotted us immediately and waved us over to a spot in the back, where there was two seats facing opposite another two.
'Did you enjoy your time getting back to the train, you two?' she asked slyly as we sat down opposite her.
I blushed. 'Nothing happened, Miyu.'
'Alright,' she said, looking disappointed.
'Hey, Miyu?' Lui asked. Without waiting for her to answer, he continued. 'Look, I know you're a fangirl and stuff but can you please try not to obsess over us. It's actually really annoying and I want to be friends with you.'
'Okay,' Miyu nodded, not looking hurt at all but rather smiling brightly.
I smirked at the Longinus user. 'You want to be friends with somebody?'
'Shut up,' Lui snapped. 'I make friends as well. How do you think I'm friends with Gabe? I'm human, not some monster.'
'Geez, I was just joking,' I laughed. 'No need to be so touchy.'
Lui glared at me and opened his mouth to say something, but Miyu beat him to it. 'Let's play a get to know me game? Even though you two are part of the Supreme 4, I don't think you know each other very well considering your rivalry. This game is called "Secret Circle". We go around in a circle, and each time we reveal a secret about ourselves. How does that sound?'
'I'm in,' I replied. I did want to get to know Miyu and Lui more. Especially Lui, from what I had heard, he had a tough childhood where his parents abused him and that was where he got his cold attitude, but that was just rumors. I didn't actually know a lot about Lui, even though we had battle on the stage many times.
Lui nodded. 'Me too.'
'Alright, I'll go first,' offered Miyu. 'Let's see...oh! My favorite out of the Supreme 4 is Zac. Not only is he an awesome blader, but he is so talented! His singing, blading, dancing...just everything about him is the best! No offense to you guys, though.'
'It's fine,' I smiled. 'I'll go next. I'm gay.'
Well, that was bold of you, Shu.
All of the people close to me already knew that, but it still wasn't open to the public. But I was pretty acceptant about my sexuality and I didn't mind what other people thought.
Miyu's face shone with happy surprise (probably because many ships of hers could come true) and Lui's face was unreadable. Then...'I'm gay as well.'
Right then Miyu couldn't contain her fangirl. Her cheeks were pink with excitement and she was fanning herself quickly while she squealed.
Lui looked away from us, pink on his cheeks as well. 'Please don't make a big deal out of it. I only truly knew my sexuality about six months ago. You guys and Gabe are the only ones who know.'
'Oh, alright,' Miyu grinned, calming herself. 'See? We've learnt so much about each other already. I'll go again since we're back at the start. Um...oh! I prefer cats to dogs.'
The rest of the game went on for half an hour, although no more big secrets were spilled. Just little, tiny things that were normal and help us to get to know each other better.
I still can't believe Lui is gay. But he only knew six months ago...around the end of the Japan National Tournament. I wonder what made him realize he was gay.
Perhaps an opponent from the tournament. After all, he doesn't really have much of a life outside beyblade. It's just eat, train, blade, sleep every day. I'm pretty sure. Sounds like something Lui would do anyway.
'Hey, um, Shu?' Miyu asked me, sounding a little hesitant.
'Yes?'
'Uh, I keep on getting messages from my followers on Twitter that I need to update them with some news about you two so,' she twiddled her fingers together, looking down, before looking up with huge eyes sparkling. 'So can I please tell them that you're gay?!'
'Sure,' I shrugged. 'It's bound to get out to the public anyway.'
'Oh, you can tell them I'm gay as well,' Lui put in. I looked in surprise at Lui, and he seemed shocked as well. After all, Lui doesn't really interact with fans that much.
'Wow, really?' without waiting for an answer, the fangirl of her came out, and she squealed loudly while doing a little victory dance in the aisle of the train. 'Oh my gosh, YES! YIPEE! I'VE SUCCEEDED IN MY FANGIRL CAREER! Greatest moment of my LIFE!'
Lui and I sweat dropped as she continued parading around the aisle and annoying a nearby older teenage girl listening to music.
'Hey, keep it down!' yelled the teenager, jumping out from her seat and stepping in front of Miyu. She looked like a typical emo, anti-social teen, with black Doc Martins, fishnets and ripped, black shorts.
Her black jacket was cropped and unzipped, revealing a scarlet crop top that matched the edges of her raven hair. Her purple eyes shone with fury, and reminded me a little of Lui's. 'Or I'll report you to the train driver and he'll have you thrown out, kid!'
'They would never throw a passenger out in the cold mountains,' huffed Miyu, crossing her arms. 'And I am not a kid! I am twelve years old!'
'Pfft,' scorned the teenage girl. 'You're not even a teenager. And your mental age is equivalent to a three year old.'
'Your FACE is equivalent to a 70 year old!' spat Miyu, turning red with anger. Uh oh. When a fangirl gets angry, she releases everything. Sometimes they can be so extra. The teenager glowered with rage.
'Why you-!'
'Stop!' I came in, interrupted the girl fight going on. 'Stop fighting!'
'Fine!' Miyu agreed reluctantly. I faced the older girl.
'I'm sorry that our companion has bothered you,' I apologized. 'She was getting over excited about something. I'm Shu Kurenai, this is Miyu Kobayashi, and that is Lui Shirasagi.'
'Humph!' the teenage girl crossed her arms. 'I'm Ayumi Tsukika from a farm on the outskirts of Kyoto. My parents moved to Tokyo and they forced me to move there with them, not on the farm with my grandparents. So here I am. I'm only doing it because they gave me three hundred dollars.'
'Oh,' I nodded before beckoning her to seat with Miyu, Lui and I. 'Join us.'
'Yes, please!' Miyu urged excitedly.
'Whatever,' mumbled Lui. I glared at him. 'What?'
'Fine,' she sighed reluctantly. 'Only because my phone just died. Forgot to charge it before the train.'
'Well, that's a little stupid of you,' Miyu frowned, shooting her mouth off. I internally sighed, knowing that whatever was coming up wasn't going to be good. 'You knew you were going to catch a train that goes for like more than two hours but you forgot to charge your phone, which I'm assuming you were going to be on it for the whole train ride but you forgot. I bet you're one of those teenagers who go on their phone 24/7. If it weren't for us you would probably looking out the window, looking at the snow and going, "Is that some sort of rare, white rain?". And to think that you think my mental age is three-'
'Miyu, shut up,' I told her harshly. Lui was doing his iconic laugh, Miyu's ears were red and Ayumi was watching Miyu with her eyes and mouth wide with horror, shock and...fascination?
'Woah,' breathed Ayumi. Miyu watched her with interest. 'You're feisty. I like you.'
Miyu beamed with pride. 'I like you as well. Love your outfit. We're even matching with the same shoes!'
'We are! Isn't that a coincidence?'
'It was fate that put us together.'
'Tota-'
BANG.
The train screeched to a halt. Miyu and Ayumi's conversation stopped, and Lui looked up, alarmed. I checked outside. We were high up in the hills now, probably in the old battlefield. But why had we stopped?
I got my answer.
There was another loud bang and orange, red and smoke filled up the windows I could barely see any hint of the snowy landscape anymore. Pieces of shrapnel, metal, bark and snow hit the train as well, splattered across the windows. I stood up.
'What's going-'
And that's when the my view tilted horizontally.

Eh, that was kinda short. Oh well.
