Chapter 1
"Take your seats class." The raven-haired teacher, Aizawa, commanded. His authoritative presence fell over the class, blanketing the chatter into murmurs, then silence.
There was a brief pause before he launched into the morning announcements. It was the same as spiel as everyday, with only minor changes depending on the day of the week or any unforeseen circumstances. Until Aizawa concluded the announcements with something out of the ordinary, "Oh yeah, we also have a new student."
The class that had remained silent for the entirety of the announcements suddenly uproared in excited chatter.
"Wow really? A new student?!"
"Are they even allowed to do that??"
At any other school, transfers mid-year were routine. However, at such a particular and prestigious school as UA, transfers were practically unheard of.
"Yes, it's quite a surprise."
"UA isn't known for letting people join mid year, especially without taking the practical exam. They must be really powerful, whoever he or she may be."
"I hope it's a girl!"
"I didn't even think about that!"
"It'd be nice considering how the boys outnumber us so greatly. What do you think, Deku?"
"Huh? Oh um..." Midoriya suddenly became flustered having that spotlight, "A girl would be nice."
"Or a cute boy!" Hagakure added.
"I don't know," Denki chimed in, "a hot girl would be pretty cool."
Mineta drooled from his corner, "Yes a hot babe with voluptuous-"
Aizawa interjected before the chatter could continue, "I believe I didn't ask for commentary. She should be arriving soon. I expect you all know how to behave yourselves." He shot a glance at Mineta who mumbled to himself.
A light knock sounded against the door, softly enough to not have been heard over the conversation that had transpired earlier. Any remaining chatter had ceased as Aizawa opened the door and stepped aside to let you enter. You slowly walked in, further jamming your hands into your sweatshirt pockets, a nervous habit you'd never quite been able to shake. Aizawa closed the door and began speaking,"you can say your name and quirk if you'd like."
"(Y/n)." You said quietly.
There was a pause of people waiting for you to say your ability but when you didn't add anything, Aizawa sighed and pointed you to an empty seat behind an ash blonde with a scowl on his face. You walked over, sitting down and setting your bag down next to you. A few people were still looking at you so you turned away from them and looked at the wall next to you as you waited for the lecture to begin.
After a moment Aizawa began speaking and class begun.

Classes went on for seemingly forever before it was lunch time. You got in line and bought lunch, sitting at an empty table. You drummed your fingers absentmindedly to the song that played in your head when a black haired boy with glasses approached you, bowing respectfully, "Hello! I'm Tenya Iida your class rep! Would you like to have lunch with my friends and me?"
You looked at him, blinking for a moment at his intensity. You didn't want to be rude so you stood up and followed him to his table. A brown haired girl and green haired boy both rose to greet you.
"Hi, I'm Izuku Midoriya!" He seemed to have the same intensity as Iida but a bit more nervous.
The girl gave a wave and seemed to be the most casual, "I'm Ochaco Uraraka. Nice to meet you."
You nodded, sitting next to Izuku and looking up at them to better evaluate your appearance. Uraraka was the first to speak again, "How'd you get that scar?"
Your hand flew to the scar on your cheek and you looked down again, not answering.
"Oh, you don't have to answer. Sorry if I was being rude." She apologized.
You twiddled your fingers, not knowing how to act in such a social situation. Izuku finally chimed in, "Hey, I know going to a new school with all new people is stressful but you don't have to be shy."
"I'm sorry." You mumbled, hoping not to offend anyone.
"You needn't apologize," Iida said dutifully, "As class rep, I will make sure everyone is welcoming to you!"
You almost chuckled at Iida, he seemed to take this class representative thing very seriously. Still though, you didn't make eye contact and instead tugged at the hem of your uniform skirt. You wished the skirts were longer. Even though you wore leggings underneath, you still felt exposed.
Soon a chatter ensued and you nibbled on your food, you weren't particularly hungry but you used to be dangerously thin and you weren't particularly in the dying mood today. You tuned back into the conversation.
"So what is your quirk?" You flinched, unsure if you should tell them. They leaned in, seemingly very interested.
You hesitated before inquiring defensively, "what's yours?"
"Oh, how rude of us to ask you without detailing ours," Iida apologized, "My quirk is engine. The engines in my legs allow me to move at incredible speeds."
You looked at Izuku and he panicked for a second, "Oh! Um. My quirk lets me make certain parts of of all of my body faster and stronger."
You nodded and turned to Uraraka, "Oh, my quirk let's me alter the gravity of an object to make it float."
You nodded, deciding it was safe to tell them your quirk, "My quirk-" the bell rang and you shrugged apologetically.
"That's fine, you can tell us later."
You nodded, following them to class since you had literally no clue where you were going.

Class went by fast and currently you were being shown to your dorm by Iida who was also helping with your suitcases. He smiled, pushing up his glasses, "here you are! If you ever need anything, I'm certain myself or any of our class mates will be happy to help you."
"Thank you," you said gratefully.
"Of course. Once you are settled, you can come down to the common room. Just follow this main hall to the staircase and the bottom floor is the common area."
You nodded before taking your bags from him and lugging them all into your dorm. It wasn't that you had a lot of things, this was actually all of your stuff in one trip so you actually didn't have much at all. Still you began to tuck your stuff into the drawers and make your bed. You had white sheets and a plain comforter and one pillow, it didn't really scream fancy but it worked.
You sat for a moment, wondering if you should head to the common room yet. You fiddled with the hem of your skirt in thought, and decided to wear some sweats instead of the skirt. After swapping bottoms you looked at yourself in the mirror. An oversized hoodie with miss matched sweat pants. Good enough, you weren't trying to impress anyone. In fact, you were trying to stay as invisible at possible.
You sighed, supposing it was time to go to the common room. You walked down the hall and headed downstairs, hearing most of your classmates were there. Before walking in, you listened.
"Those baggy clothes are hiding curves, I just know it. Probably the most voluptuous-"
"Anywayyyy," a voice interrupted, "I have to admit, having a new student is cool but she doesn't talk much and doesn't show much either. To be completely honest, she doesn't have much presence."
You weren't sure how to feel about the conversation but you knew it wasn't right to eavesdrop so you walked in.
"Oh, hey new girl," a red haired boy smiled at you. You offered a small wave, "Dinner should be ready soon if you're hungry."
You nodded in reply. Sitting on a couch that wasn't occupied. The conversation resumed but this time it wasn't about you and you quietly minded your own business unsure of what you should do. A few moments passed when they said dinner was ready and you followed at the back of the group.
You kept your head down during most of the conversation every now and then, you took a few glances at the people around you. You'd never been in such a large group before and it made you kind of nervous. Your anxiety was a lot better than it used to be, but it still lingered.
Some people seemed nice enough though. The ones you had lunch with seemed friendly while others such as the scowling blonde that currently sat across from you seemed significantly less friendly. You watched him eat and he suddenly looked up with much irritation, "What the hell are you lookin' at?!"
You quickly looked down, not answering, "Bakugou," the red haired boy from before spoke, "You should be a little nicer."
"What the hell did you say to me, shitty hair?!"
You quickly stood up and put your plate in the kitchen, walking fast to leave the quickly stirring commotion. A few people looked at you when you stood, half expecting you to say something, but you didn't.
You turned to go to your room and in your rush, you hadn't realized Bakugou was also returning his plate until you slammed right into him, causing the plate to clatter to the floor and food remnants to go with it.
His red eyes flared up with anger, "What the hell was that for?!" He raged, getting closer to you. You backed into a wall very intimidated when he continued, "Well?! Are you gonna say something?!"
You couldn't meet his gaze as you tried to swallow the fear in your throat while he grew even more enraged, "Don't just stand there gawking, you think you're better than-!"
You hadn't realized what came over you but in a moment of fear, you back handed him across the face and with the sound of a slap, the room fell silent.
You took his moment of shock as an opportunity to flee the situation.
