From: Felicity Drew.
To: Felix Hunter.
You had a nickname for me. Felitown.
Just like most of the things you seemed to do, it was weird. And despite my secret undying love for puns, I didn't get it until I asked you about it.
Your only explanation was the words, Felicity, Felitown, and awkward silence.
I, being the stone tied to your foot, told you that it was a stupid and horrible nickname. But, you being the big ball of sunshine and happiness that you were, insisted that it was genius as we walked to the bowling alley nearby.
Then you started being weird again. You started asking about my favorite songs and threatening that you would sing the Spongebob theme song out loud if I didn't tell you.
I, being the difficult person that I am, decided not to tell you, thinking that no idiot would embarrass themselves that way. And you being the idiot that you are, decided to prove me wrong.
If my other hand wasn't holding my cane, I would have slapped you with it. But I decided to just pinch you with the one that was already wrapped around your arm so you can stop the embarrassment we were living through your singing.
Which was a mistake, since when I mentioned that my favorite song was by Queen, you started singing a parody.
'Is this the real life, is this just fantasy? I found a girl who likes Queen and her name is Felicity.'
But this time, you did shut up when I untangled our arms and decided to start walking ahead.
Even if I was walking at the pace of a turtle, you still pretended to pant when you supposedly ran to catch up with me, looping our arms together once again.
That's another thing that I found weird about you, the little things that you did.
Like how you weren't frustrated with how slow I walked. Or how you would point out stairs that were a few feet away from us.
Maybe you weren't weird. Maybe I just found it bizarre that you were making so much effort to stay with me even if I was rude to you all the time.
Or maybe you were being extra nice because you promised to not ever talk to me after our little outing. Either way, I still didn't trust you.
But, it didn't matter. We were just going bowling, and then we would ignore each other for the rest of our lives.
We had a great time bowling. Although, I would never admit that to you out loud. You kept gushing about how we were meant for each other since we both were a size seven in shoes.
And you also tricked me into not paying, which irritated me even more (I still don't know if you pay before or after you play). But, you seemed to wipe the irritation away when you supposedly lost to me.
I'm sure you did that on purpose. I'm not so sure how I got a strike.
After we were done, I insisted that you took me home when you begged for ice cream. And you did after twisting your words and getting ice cream on the way.
The thing is, you were too funny and nice that I was afraid I'll start having a hard time acting like a complete jerk. And maybe, just maybe, I would start letting my guard down.
Thankfully, I arrived home safe and sound. Mom wasn't home so she didn't invite you in and I didn't either of course.
You went home that day while I stayed in mine. Only after promising to not bother me a day after.
