chapter 10
Rebecca pov
I hung my headphones and reached in my bag for the other headphones Daddy sent for Bear.
"Bear!" He turned and looked at me. "Need you to put these on and just close your eyes and listen but only put one on and just keep the one off towards me I will know when you're ready and I will start!" He nodded his and did as I asked.
I put my headphones on and I kept watching him out of the corner because I was waiting until he was so relaxed he was almost asleep.
"Don't open your eyes or move even after it starts just let it go and feel!" I told him finally because he was almost there.
"This is your first step in teaching you!" He never even moved when I told him that so I knew he was ready and I tapped my button on my steering wheel and started it. Return me to innocence.
Then I impacted my hands above my head really fast and grabbed the steering wheel again and started again as I just woken open everything in Bear again and now he was just singing his part with me and moving with me now as it started over.
He reached over and took off my headphones. "Stop the truck Thumper I need to tell you something but at least make sure we're hidden first!" He told me.
I did what he told me because this looked really serious so I just focused without my headphones and turned off the headlights again.
I finally parked and turned off the truck and turned and looked at him.
"I'm just like you! Except I'm from here!" He told me. "Hyper sleep frozen!" I said and he nodded his head.
"I lost both Thumper!" My eyes widened. I turned my head. "All four of them!" I said as a statement and he just nodded his head.
"So the humans killed your mom and dad and the thing killed all four of their souls!" I said again and he nodded his head.
"That's the real reason you took daddy's child soul and hid it inside of you didn't you? You were protecting him and trying to save him from the same fate because it was a child spirit!" He nodded his head and had tears falling from his eyes.
"I couldn't use anything anymore after that or remember anything after that well certain things!" He told me.
"You're dad was good at helping me keep hidden though that was for sure." Bear told me and I busted out laughing.
"Oh that was so my old daddy. Down to a perfect tee too!" I was bending over with my arms wrapped around my stomach now laughing so hard now.
"I'm so hungry!" I grabbed the flashlight and jumped out of the truck and jumped into the back of the truck and opened the cooler and saw a big storage container.
"Oh please for the love of God tell me that's my very favorite!" I hurried and grabbed it and opened and fell to my knees and tipped my head back and smiled so big.
"YES! I JUST DIED AND GONE AND GONE TO HEAVEN AND MY DADDY REALLY LOVES ME!" I slammed the cooler shut and poofed back into the truck and took my first bite and I just fell over and just died and went to heaven.
I heard Bear laughing at me and I opened my eyes and held up my storage container.
"I usually don't share and I'm known to stab you over stealing this or touching mine. But I will share with you Bear!" He smiled and reached in and took one.
"Well thank you Thumper I'm honored!" I busted out laughing at him and sat up next to him so we could share and he showed me one of my six packs and gave me one and he took one.
I reached up and turned on the cb to see if I could get a hold of daddy because I knew he saw me.
"I know you're awake daddy and thank you for my very favorite and I'm sharing with Bear!" I told him and I heard him laughing.
"So you're alright baby girl?" He asked me. "Yeah daddy except I'm a eight year old now and I need clothes now!" I busted out laughing.
"I will get you clothes in two days at the drop off point Monkey what do you want!" I sent him all the images and I heard him bust out laughing.
"Okay! No problem and I will get the other clothes you know he's probably going to hate right monkey?" Daddy asked me.
"HEY! I did learn from the best in that department daddy and look who helped raise me daddy it wasn't just you momma had a hand in this raising me!" I told him.
"You little fucking shit and you had to go there didn't you?" Bear busted out laughing and so was I.
"But daddy I'm your babygirl and I can get away with it!" I couldn't stop laughing.
"Alright you got me there! Just like your momma does but only you two do!" I pointed to the cb making my point.
"Daddy when we see you and momma all four of need to talk alone and Bear has to show you something and you'll understand why and then show it to momma and then I will show you what I did but not until then do you trust me daddy?" I asked him.
"Of course I do Rebecca I always have! Probably more than your momma and I should of trusted her babygirl I love you but I need to go and wake up momma and talk to her." He told me.
"I love you too daddy bye!" I turned off the cb and drink my beer staying quiet.
Yeah I did that unpurpose! "Yeah, I'm a sneaky little shit aren't I!" Bear and I turned and looked at each other.
"HAA!" We say at the same time and we highed fived each other and took a drink of our beers and sat back and started laughing.
Bear put my headphones but only one side that was by the driver's door and he did the same with his except the one he had on was by the passenger side door and he leaned up and turned on my cd player again and turned it up and I giggled he even reached underneath the seat for the half a bottle of jacks we still had left.
We even started drinking that too. We were actually having fun.
Then whatcha you see is whatcha you get and we both started singing it and having fun with the song getting up and dancing to it.
Yeah, baby
Let's go
My baby always told me, "Boy, just be yourself
The way the good Lord made you, can't nobody else
Quite do it like you do, stay the way you stay
That's something to be proud of at the end of every day"
So I'ma keep it country like the radio
If you wanna know me, all you need to know is
I like sitting in the trees, waiting on a deer
Chilling on a riverbank, killing cold beer
When I get a truck, I just jack it up
Find myself a mudhole, go and get it stuck
Head to toe in camo, that's just how it is
But I ain't tryna hide, what you see is what you get
What you see is what you get
That's right, yeah
I still go to DQ just to get a dipped cone
I go out to Bass Pro, yeah, 'cause that's my second home
People call me backwoods, I just tell 'em, thank you
Cover up my tattoos, something that I can't do
I'ma be myself just the way that I was raised
I don't see a problem, probably never gon' change
I like sitting in the trees, waiting on a deer
Chilling on a riverbank, killing cold beer
When I get a truck, I just jack it up
Find myself a mudhole, go and get it stuck
Head to toe in camo, that's just how it is
But I ain't tryna hide, what you see is what you get
What you see is what you get
Yeah, what you see is what you get, oh, yeah
So I'ma keep it country like the radio
If you wanna know me, all you need to know's
I like sitting in the trees, waiting on a deer
Chilling on a riverbank, killing cold beer
When I get a truck, I just jack it up
Find myself a mudhole, go and get it stuck
Head to toe in camo, that's just how it is
But I ain't tryna hide, what you see is what you get
What you see is what you get
Yeah, that's right
Both of bent over laughing so hard at each other. Tough town came on and we just went with it and singed it so what it was a guy's song. I even pulled him out of the truck and pointed to me and my body and pointed to him and moved my hand around and he nodded his head and I pointed to him and then to my eyes and to myself and put up one finger and he nodded his head. I closed my eyes and I took off and started doing my moves and singing at the same time.
That old hardware store's got 8 X 10s
In black and white from way back when
Folks still rode their horses into town
See hard work and dirt on blurry faces
And in color ain't much changed
Them buildings might be leanin'
Oh, but they ain't fallin' down
This is a tough town
It's all blood, sweat, and tears
This is some tough ground
If it don't rain, it don't grow here
We've been red, white, and blue collar
God and country all these years
If you see us turnin' up and burnin' down, we earned it, son
This is a tough town
This is a tough town
And we got outskirts full of old farmland
But there ain't a rock for sale
'Cause every inch has history to tell
Front porches full of rockin' chairs
Old folks and grandkids sittin' there
And that there's old school love
They're still old and calloused hands
This is a tough town
It's all blood, sweat, and tears
This is some tough ground
If it don't rain, it don't grow here
We've been red, white, and blue collar
God and country all these years
If you see us turnin' up and burnin' down, we earned it, son
This is a tough town
This is a tough town
We know all about the grapevine
Some folks love to talk
But if you want some of one of us
Just know you got us all
This is a tough town
Yeah, boy, this is a tough town
Hell yeah, this is a tough town
It's all blood, sweat, and tears
This is some tough ground
If it don't rain, it don't grow here
We've been red, white, and blue collar
God and country all these years
If you see us turnin' up and burnin' down, we earned it, son
This is a tough town
This is a tough town
This is a tough town
This is a tough ass town
"NOT YET BEAR JUST WATCH ME AGAIN BUT THIS TIME KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT AND LISTEN AND FEEL TOO WHILE YOU WATCH ME! NEVER TAKE YOUR EYES OFF OF ME SECOND LESSON FOR YOU!" I told him.
