chapter 41

       Rebecca pov

It was the night after and I had my music blaring in my truck because my truck was sound proof now and it was keeping me awake.

I reached and tapped the screen to check the refrigerator for all my medicine viles in my back seat and it was doing fine and I tapped and looked at all the cameras and I was doing fine.

I only stopped to gas up and go to the bathroom and Daddy and momma packed snacks for me. Because all our food was in the back of my truck with other supplies for us.

Then my satilite phone started ringing and I turned off the music and answered the phone.

"This better be fucking good or I'm hanging up!" I told whoever was on the phone.

"You have a nasty mouth young lady!" I hurried and hung up the phone and called Daddy or momma.

"Monkey?" Momma answered the phone. "Aunt Alice just called my phone momma!" I told her.

"WHAT! THROW THAT DAMN FUCKING PHONE OUT OF THE TRUCK NOW AND I WILL CALL Teddy and act like your still here and Daddy calming you down and for him to stay put that you we are sending you to him wether like it or not and to destroy that phone any means possible I'm destroying this one now love you!" Then there was nothing and I rolled down the window and whipped that fucker out and I heard it smashed into something with a impact and rolled back up the window.

"Well I don't have to worry about that anymore do I!" Oh I cringe when I felt Bear and he was beyond furious right now.

I turned back on music and it was still as loud as it was before.

Things a Man Oughta Know by Lainey Wilson came on and I started driving to it and singing to it and moving my body to it.

I can hook a trailer on a two-inch hitch
I can shoot a shotgun, I can catch a fish
I can change a tire on the side of a road
Yeah, I know a few things a man oughta know
How to know when it's love
How to stay when it's tough
How to know you're messin' up a good thing
And how to fix it 'fore it's too late
And yeah, I know a boy
Who gave up and got it wrong
If you really love a woman, you don't let her go
Yeah, I know a few things a man oughta know
If I can't have it, I can do without
I can hang a picture same as I can take it down
And how to keep it hidden when a heart gets broke
Yeah, I know a few things a man oughta know
How to know when it's love
How to stay when it's tough
How to know you're messin' up a good thing
And how to fix it 'fore it's too late
And yeah, I know a boy
Who gave up and got it wrong
If you really love a woman, you don't let her go
Yeah, I know a few things a man oughta know
I
How to know when it's love
How to stay when it's tough
How to chase forever down a driveway
How to never let it get there in the first place
And yeah, I know a boy
Who gave up and got it wrong
If you really love a woman, you don't let her go
Well, I know a few things a man oughta know
Yeah, I know a few things a man oughta know

Tears fell from my eyes again! What momma didn't know is we weren't talking to each other right now and I clicked over for hummingbird and did the same thing and song to it.

The wind is like a memory that paces in the night
Waiting for the moment that your guard is compromised
It don't care if you're sleeping
It don't care if you're drunk
It knows the secret you're keeping
No matter where you wake up

Ooh, when the rain gets poured
The river don't run to an old love's door
Ooh, and the train don't stop
'Cause the tracks get tired of the way it talks
Sun don't burn down the whole damn sky
Just 'cause the moon ain't on its side
Ooh, and the hummingbird flies on by
'Cause it hates goodbye, and so do I

The heart forgets the battle but remembers who it was
No scientist can calculate the ratio of love
It don't know when it's beating
It don't know when it's dead
It's just tired of keeping me out of my head

Ooh, when the rain gets poured
The river don't run to an old love's door
Ooh, and the train don't stop
'Cause the tracks get tired of the way it talks
Sun don't burn down the whole damn sky
Just 'cause the moon ain't on its side
Ooh, and the hummingbird flies on by
'Cause it hates goodbye, and so do I

Leaves don't know why they're falling
Trees don't know why they stay
The song don't know why it started
And I'm just that way

Ooh, when the rain gets poured
The river don't run to an old love's door
Ooh, and the train don't stop
'Cause the tracks get tired of the way it talks
Sun don't burn down the whole damn sky
Just 'cause the moon ain't on its side
Ooh, and the hummingbird flies on by
'Cause it hates goodbye, and so do I
And so do I

I narrowed my eyes and I started tapping my button and going through the fucking right song I needed and there it was and it was wild flowers and wild horses.

Wildflowers and wild horses
In the middle of the night
I hear a cornfield coyote cry
Up at the moon no matter what
Sky I'm laying under
In the eye of a hurricane
When I got one foot in the grave
I'll dig my boots into the dirt
And face the rolling thunder
I'm five generations of blazing a trail
Through barbed wire valleys and overgrown dells
I'm barefoot and bareback and born tough as nails
Whoa, whoa, whoa
I'm four-fifths of reckless and one-fifth of jack
I push like a daisy through old sidewalk cracks
Yeah, my kinda crazy's still running its courses with
Wildflowers and wild horses
It's in the water in my veins
That bread of heaven falls like rain
So I'm taken care of either way
Make something out of how I'm made
Until I hitch a ride on glory's train
I'm five generations of blazing a trail
Through barbed wire valleys and overgrown dells
I'm barefoot and bareback and born tough as nails
Whoa, whoa, whoa
I'm four-fifths of reckless and one-fifth of jack
I push like a daisy through old sidewalk cracks
Yeah, my kinda crazy's still running its courses with
Wildflowers and wild horses
I'm five generations of blazing a trail

Just as my alarms a devil dog jumped on my the hood of my truck at the same time fucking time.

"OH FUCK NO YOU FUCKING BASTARD YOU JUST JUMPED ON MY THUMPER! FUCK YOU!" I narrowed my eyes at it as it was trying to get into my window and I noticed good girls but gunpowder and lead on and I started driving like I was fucking singing.

County road two thirty-three under my feet
Nothin' on this white rock but little ol' me
I've got two miles 'til he makes bail
And if I'm right, we're headed straight for hell
I'm goin' home, gonna load my shotgun
Wait by the door, and light a cigarette
If he wants a fight, well, now he's got one
And he ain't seen me crazy yet
He slapped my face, and he shook me like a rag doll
Don't that sound like a real man?
I'm going to show him what little girls are made of
Gunpowder and lead
Well, it's half past ten, another six-pack in
And I can feel the rumble like the cold black wind
He pulls in the drive, the gravel flies
He don't know what's waiting here this time
Hey, I'm goin' home, gonna load my shotgun
Wait by the door, and light a cigarette
If he wants a fight, well, now he's got one
And he ain't seen me crazy yet
He slapped my face, and he shook me like a rag doll
Don't that sound like a real man?
I'm going to show him what little girls are made of
Gunpowder and lead
His fist is big, but my gun's bigger
He'll find out when I pull the trigger
I'm goin' home, gonna load my shotgun
Wait by the door, and light a cigarette
If he wants a fight, well, now he's got one
And he ain't seen me crazy yet
He slapped my face, and he shook me like a rag doll
Don't that sound like a real man?
I'm going to show him what little girls are made of
Gunpowder and, gunpowder and lead
Gunpowder and lead, yeah, yeah
Hey

Just as whipped the truck and tipped my truck on two wheels I rolled down the window and stood up out still steering with one hand and I had my shot gun now.

I let out out my Indian call and I cocked my shot gun and shot and kept doing it!

I threw it back in my truck and whipped my wheel just right and set my truck back down.

"OH COME ON! OH KNOW YOU FUCKING DON'T!" I whipped the truck around and started climbing the damn mountain and I was going through the toughest and toughest climb.

"GET THE FUCK OFF MY TRUCK!" I yelled out and I pointed at I was becoming pissed.

"YOU KNOW WHAT YOU FUCKED UP BECAUSE YOU RUINED MY SURPRISE YOUR FUCKING DONE!"

I do not own all the characters in the story Stephanie Meyers does.

I own the rest of the characters and the story
