Mercedes's Pov
As it gets closer and closer for me to talk to Jay I start getting nervous and I guess Kaylie senses it cause she comes towards me. "You nervous aren't you?" I nod my head as I ask. "You can tell?" She looks at me for a minute. "Girl I know you better than you know yourself." I sigh. "What if he say he just wants to be friends?" She nudges me. "Girl the way he looks at you I doubt it." I say. "I did hurt him tho." She says. "Girl he's alright,but let's get these kids ready." We walk out the room and I get the kids up and dressed for school. I walk back in my room and start getting dressed for school as I sit at my vanity and start on my makeup lei comes busting through my door I look at her and softly smile. "Hey stinka butt." I finish up with my makeup. I grab my backpack and purse and pick Lei up as we make our way downstairs. Bria and Kaitlyn
look at me and say. "You look beautiful 😍." I smile softly. "Thanks." We all eat breakfast and Kaylie says. "So,we just putting on makeup now and wearing purses."

We finish up and we all head out and make our way to school. We drop the kids off first and we pull up at our school 25 minutes later. We get out and make our way to the front entrance of the building. Everyone stares at me as I walk to my locker. Jay comes up to me and says. "Someone decided to dress up today." I get my things out for Algebra and Chemistry class. He grabs my arm softly. "You ready to talk?" I sigh. "Yeah." We find an empty classroom and I sit down.I slowly look up at him. "Jay it's not that I don't like you and don't want to try with you." He sits down next to me. "Then what is it Mercedes?" I sigh. "It's not just me anymore i have to raise 3 girls." He softly grabs my face making me look at him. "And you not going to do it alone." I say. "I'm not going to put that burden on you or no one else." He stands up. "I'm not asking you for your permission I'm telling you." I sigh. "You don't have to." He looks at me for a second without saying anything. "You not dealing with this alone." I look at him. "Why after the way I treated you?" He sighs. "You did hurt my feelings,but I still want to give us a try." I ask. "But why?" He says. "You make me feel like I can be somebody." My heart breaks a little when he says that. "Look Jay you are somebody,but it doesn't matter what I think." He says. "Your opinion is the only one that matters to me." Before I could respond the teacher swings the door open. "Why aren't you guys in class?" We get up and walk out the room. I stop Jay. "This conversation isn't over." I walk to class and spot Kaylie so I decide to sit next to her. She whispers. "How'd it go?" I say. "It went great." She nudges me. "Look who got a man." I roll my eyes playfully as I pay attention to the teacher. The rest of the day drags by slowly. The day finally ends and Kaylie says. "I asked the guys to come over." I nod my head as we make our way to her car. We get inside as she drives to the kids daycare. I get out and walk inside and get Kaitlyn and Lei. Lei comes running towards me and I bend down and pick her up. "I see someone missed me." I hold Kaitlyn's hand as we make our way to the car and I strap them in. We make our way to Bria's school and she comes running to the car. Kaylie drives to the house and I get a message.

We pull up to the house and I get the kids out,heading inside. Kaylie says. "Let's have a movie night." We get the kids situated and get the snacks ready for our movie night. Kaylie puts on the movie and Lei climbs in my lap. I softly smile down at her and wrap her up in my blanket with me. As the movie begins Lei lays her head against me and I softly rub her back. I glance over to my left and see the girls sleeping and Kaylie asks. "You talked to Jay?" I sigh. "Yeah." The movie finally ends and we put the kids to bed and tuck them in. Someone bangs on the door and Kaylie runs to answer it. Mike and Jay come thru the door. I sit on the couch and Jay come and sit next to me. I glance over at him and he says. "I missed you." I say. "You just saw me a few hours ago." He sighs. "That was too long ago and where my nieces at?" I respond by saying. "They're sleeping." Mike asks. "Cedes can we spend the night?" I say. "I guess so." Jay pulls me closer to him and makes me lay on his chest. I slightly roll my eyes and Kaylie says. " Girl you know you want to be under him." We all decide to watch a movie for the rest of the night. I fall asleep shortly after in Jay's arms.

Jay's Pov
I finish getting ready for school as Mike pulls up outside and blows his horn. I grab my backpack and phone and head downstairs,going outside to his car. I get inside and he asks. "You ready to have the talk with Cedes?" I say. "I'm nervous asl bro." He says. "She probably just wants to see where yo head at." I sigh. "I'm not going to lie bro my head all over the place." He says to me. "But y'all need to talk." He pulls up at school and we get out,heading inside." I spot cedes at her locker and make my way over to her. "Someone decided to dress up today." Before she could respond the teacher swings the door. "Why aren't you guys in class?" We get up and walk out the room. She stops me. "This conversation isn't over." We go our separate ways. As I walk in class and over to Mike he asks. "How'd it go?" I say. "I think it went great." He dabs me up. "Don't fuck this up." I say. "Oh trust me I'm not." The rest of the school day goes by slowly. As the day ends my mind drifts off to Cedes. I meet up with Mike and we make our way to his car. We get in the car and drive to my house I'm assuming. I decide to text Cedes and Mike asks. "You texting Cedes?" I nod my head and look out the window. We get to my house and I get out and walk inside to my room. I decide to take a nap and Mike calls my phone and wakes me up out my sleep. I get up and freshen up and wait on Mike.
He blows the horn and I grab my things and walk downstairs. I walk outside and get in the car. I ask. "Where we going?" He says without taking his eyes off the road. "To Merceds house." The rest of the car ride was silent as I look out the window. We arrive a few minutes later and get out,walking up to the door.
Mike beats on the door and Kaylie comes to the door. She lets us in and I sit on the couch next to Cedes. She glances over at me and I say. "I missed you." She responds back softly. "You just saw me a few hours ago." I sigh. "That was too long ago and where my nieces at?" She looks at me.. "They're sleeping." Mike asks. "Cedes can we spend the night?" She says. "I guess so." I pull her closer to me and make her lay on my chest.  Kaylie says. " Girl you know you want to be under him." We all decide to watch a movie for the rest of the night.She falls asleep shortly after in my arms. I slightly pick Cedes up and take her upstairs to her room. I carefully place her in the bed and pull the covers over her. Kaylie walks in the room and says. "You sleeping in here with her?" I look back at a sleeping Cedes and reply back to her. "Nah I'll sleep on the couch." I walk out her room and head downstairs. I take off my shoes and lay down on the couch and close my eyes and fall asleep.
