Chapter 11: Lonely

Before I start the chapter I would like to say I got my nails done. Well I got them longer than I usually do, and a bitch can't type for shit. I tried typing this on my computer but it still was difficult. Please excuse any mistakes. I'm going to go through and edit this before I publish, but y'all know I got terrible vision. I hate authors notes, so let's just get into the story :)...

Told you he was in love
Bitch he read you the script

RICO

A loud knock on my door woke me up. I opened my eyes and stared at Amarah. She stood there with breakfast. We haven't spoken since last night.

I have no problem with Gerald, but I do have a problem with them together. Jordan tolerated Gerald, and I could do that too. I always knew Gerald wanted to be more than friends with her. Amarah is so clueless sometimes. She's going to continue to entertain him until he breaks her heart, three times in a row.

She came over to me and sat on my bed. I looked at the food. It consisted of McDonald's pancakes, some hash browns, and a sausage McGriddle.

"I know you didn't drive m-"

"I talked ta ya mama. She picked somethin up fa' she left fa work."

I nodded, "I see you're getting along with her."

"Yea' she's real nice,"She spoke softly. "We gotta talk 'bout last night."

I shook my head, "What you do with Gerald is none of my business."

She sighed loudly. I dug my fork into the pancakes. As upset as I was, the pancakes were hitting every spot.

"Then why ya so mad fa?"

"It's 'why are you so mad?'" I corrected. "You just waited for Jordan to drop dead to pull that stunt. That's very disrespectful considering you're having his baby."

"Ya don't know shit bout Jordan and I. Jordan ain't who ya think he is."

"I've know Jordan better than you ever could. He was my best friend, and I know he wouldn't like this. Is Gerald going to play step father now?"

She picked up the cup of orange juice and threw it in my face. I jumped at the ice touching my bare chest. She picked up the plate of food and threw it in my lap. My bed was soaked with McDonald's breakfast.

"Fuck ya! Ya don't kna shit bout what Jordan put me through bitch!"She screamed at me.

She ran out of the room. I didn't chase after her. I learned that doing that would just lead to more problems.

I got out of my dirty bed. I took my bed set and placed it in my dirty clothes bin. I would just buy a new one after school. That white bed set was done. I grabbed a outfit out of my drawer.

Most of my clothes were getting to small. I don't know if it was baseball or Amarah. I spent more time at the fields then I ever have before. Somehow I still made time for Amarah. When I was with Amarah we were eating twenty-four seven. I tried to get us to eat healthy things but Amarah's cravings out weighed every meal plan I had.

I quickly got in the shower once I noticed the time. School would be starting in awhile, and I still had to drive there. It was a twenty minute drive from my house to school. Usually longer because Amarah always had me making stop.

The hot water cooked my skin. I rubbed my sensitive skin soap on my body. I was prone to rashes. I hummed along to the music playing. Drake sung Redemption on my speaker.

I heard the front door slam loudly. I got out of the shower and wrapped a towel around my waist. I walked to the living room, and out the window I saw Amarah getting in a car. My eyes focused on Gerald in the front seat. She leaned over and gave him a kiss.

My body filled with rage. Amarah knew exactly what she was doing. She was trying to get under my skin, and it was not going to work. I grabbed my phone and started typing her a message.

To: Armadillo
Delivered at 6:23 AM

Look, I don't care if you're mad. You know you're wrong in this situation. Have a good day, and be home by 7.

I sat my phone down on the counter. Amarah wasn't going to bother me today. I could leave the house later, and actually stay at practice today. I looked over at the calendar to see what time practice would end.

9/1

"It's really been four months,"I mumbled. "Shit is unbelievable."

JORDAN

"Shit is unbelievable!"I shouted. "That nigga always on her bro!"

Rico rolled his eyes. I passed him the blunt. He put it on his lips, but he didn't actually smoke it. He always did this. He thought I was too high to tell, but I knew he didn't smoke.

"Didn't you say they've been friends since the 7th grade?"

"And? We been dating since freshman year!"

He passed the blunt back towards me. I took a puff from it, making sure to inhale everything. I was pissed beyond belief.

"I thought she said you guys weren't together..."

"That's what she said. We're together regardless of what she thinks."

"You sound like a bastard man. You can't claim somebody who wants to be cl-"

"Shut the fuck up nigga. We're together, and that's the end of our love story,"I argued. "I just got to deal with this nigga Gerald."

Rico didn't say anything. He just stared at the floor as I took another pull from my blunt.

AMARAH

"Oh shit,"I gasped. "What tha hell?"

I looked at Niya. Her hair looked a hot ass mess. I held in my laughter as she glared at me.

"What the hell was your emergency? Gerald didn't wake me up, and he didn't tell me he was taking the car."

"Rico and I got inta it."

"I'm gon beat your ass and Gerald's ass. Help me fix this shit."

She took the ponytail holder of her hair. I took the brush she had and pulled it into a ponytail.

"What happened?"

"He got upset bout ma eatin' habits,"I lied.

She turned around, "I know you didn't call my brother for that bullshit."

I giggled, "I ended up throwing tha orange juice in his face."

"Like Monie in little women?"

"Yes,"I laughed.

"Oh sis,"She laughed. "That's still no reason for you to call my brother. You used to do this shit all the time with Jordan."

"Ion wanna talk bout him to-"

"It's really been four months,"She interrupted. "That's why you called..."

I nodded slowly. For the past four months, Gerald has been there. The day Jordan died, Gerald came to the rescue. The second month of his death date, Gerald was there. The third month, he comforted me. Today, I was praying he would be here.

"Shit happens all to fast,"She whispered. "I swear he was just here."

"I really don't wanna talk bout h-"

I looked up and saw Rico walking into the school. He was hand in hand with Hoe-ni, I mean Toni. She held Starbucks in the other hand. He held her book bag in his other hand. I rolled my eyes.

"Why is he still with her?"

I shrugged, "Ion kna."

"Love just works in mysterious ways. You love the people you shouldn't love. You can love someone so much you forget the rest of the world exist. You can love someone so much, you would let them kill you before you hate them."

A tear slipped out of my eyes. She was right. I would've gave up everything for Jordan to live. The events of that day played in my mind once again.

My phone rang loudly. Lil Bebe filled my ears. I rolled my eyes and looked at the phones. Jordan's smile spread across the screen.

"Helluh?"I asked.

"Can you at least talk to me? I don't want to play this game again."

"Jordan, I told ya. That shit wasn't cool. I forgive ya but that's it. We nothin."

"Marah please baby. You want me to talk in my accent?"He asked. I giggled softly. "Please talk ta me bayeeebeeeee."

"Ya fucking terrible Jordan."

"I love ya bayeeebbb-"

A loud screech hit my phone. I pulled it away from my ear. I heard a few screams, but nothing came from Jordan.

"Jordan?"I whispered. "Jordan baybeh? Ya there?"

My body trembled at the thought. My breathing speed up as I felt myself getting lightheaded. All I could hear was the crash in my head.

Then there was silence...

RICO

"Amarah!"I shouted out.

I ran over to her as she was falling. Gerald came behind her, and caught her quickly. She was unconscious. Her body looked so lifeless in his arms.

"Niya get some water."

"We need to take her to the hospital! Why is no one calling 911?"I screamed.

Gerald rolled his eyes, "She has these every so often. I know how to handle it."

"She's pregnant! Did you forget that?"

"Jordan died while she was pregnant Rico."

"Then you came and tried to take his sp-"

"Shut the fuck up nigga!"Gerald shouted at me.

I sucked my teeth. I really wanted to say something, but I wouldn't. Amarah would hate me if I ruined her friendship with Niya.

Niya handed Gerald the water, and he dabbed some on her face. I watched as Amarah slowly opened her eyes. She was confused, but terrified at the same time.

"You passed out again,"Gerald whispered. "How you feeling?"

"It's all ma fault,"She cried softly,

Gerald pulled her in for a hug. I watched in anger. They embraced each other as Amarah sobbed.

"Deep breaths Mar. Take a deep breath babygirl,"Niya comforted.

"Let me take her home."

"What the fuck is yo problem? The girl just had a panic attack,"Gerald said with a lot of bass in his voice.

"I said what I fucking said. She needs to rest in her bed."

"Rico ya got practice taday. I'll just stay with Gerald and Niya fa' awhile,"She whispered. "They've been taking ca'e of me since he died."

My anger took over my body. I turned around and marched out of school. I was pissed. I did everything for Amarah, and she wanted to stay with Gerald. She was so far up his ass.

I pulled out the vape in my pocket. I placed it on my lips. I only ever used it when I needed to forget Jordan, and that was his death day.

Jordan started smoking heavily our freshman year. He was quickly addicted. I never smoked like that because of baseball. One of us has to stay clean, and it was always me. I helped Jordan out with his drug test.

"You shouldn't vape nigga. You haven't seen the news?"I heard a voice say.

My eyes darted to the girl leaning on her car. I'd seen her around, but I never paid much attention to her.

"I don't have time for lectures today freshman,"I mumbled.

She giggled. She definitely didn't look like a freshman, but I could tell by her behavior. She was bold, but shy when approached.

The way she dressed also revealed much about her. She had on a short tight dress that was very see-through. Her hair was down to her back, and her nails were long.

"First of all, ima sophomore. Second of all, die then. I don't give a fuck,"She said with much attitude.

She began to walk away. I watched her ass jiggle, and it made me smile. She put a little sway in her step to make me say something, and she didn't fail.

"Wait,"I called out. "I'm Rico."

She turned around with a huge smile on her face.

"I'm Lanai."

"What are you doin-"

"Waiting for you to ask me out,"She smiled.

I laughed, "I have a girlfriend Lanai."

"And I have a boyfriend...your point is?"

"Would you like to grab breakfast with me?"I asked.

She walked over to my car and opened the door. I smiled as she got inside.

AMARAH

"Gerald,"I whispered. "Did ya wait til he die-"

He held his finger up to my mouth, "We not speaking on Jordan today. You need to rest mama."

"I'm sorry. Rico just keep accusing ya of it. I just needa kna."

"Fuck Rico. That nigga just stressing you out Mar. You needa let him go."

I placed my hand on my belly, "Don't say that 'round tha baybeh."

"The baby can't hear me,"He chuckled.

"Yea he can. I did some research, and he startin ya develop his senses."

"It's gonna be a girl Mar. You need to stop saying he."

I playfully hit his chest, "No it's a boy. I can't imagine anotha me."

"Neither can I. The world can barely take one of you."

"That was real fuckin rude Gerald,"I mumbled. "Tha world can barely take ya big ass mouth."

"But you like this big ass mouth."

I looked up at him. He placed his lips on mine, and slowly kissed me. I kissed back. The moments with him were always magical. He slid his hands down to my ass. I pulled back.

"I'm not havin sex with ya,"I whispered. "I can't do that while I'm carrying somebody else baybeh."

"I didn't say you had too."

"We movin ta fast. We ain een told Niya yet."

"We will mama. Whenever you want too."

JORDAN

"Whenever you want too Amarah,"I sighed.

She walked out of my bathroom. Her hair was pulled up on top of her head. My t-shirt was hanging off of her shoulder.

"Why ya have an attitude taday? Fuck is wrong with ya?"She shouted.

"I'm not arguing with you today Amarah."

She clenched her fist, "Ya kna what? I'm fuckin done with ya childi-"

"Shut the fuck up."

I pulled out my phone. I started to scroll through my timeline. Amarah shouted at me, but I was tuning her out.

"We're done! Don't call ma phone. Don't show up at my house. Don't look ma way in tha hallways,"She shouted.

She slid my t-shirt off of her. It exposed her bare body. She grabbed her clothes off of my bed.

"I'll find anotha nigga who'll treat me like a queen."

"No the fuck you aren't. Sit your ass down,"I mumbled. "You're so fucking stupid."

"What?"She screamed. "Otha niggas wouldn't do me like this. Ya kna who would treat me right? Gera-"

I threw my phone at her. She ducked, and it hit the wall. She looked at me like I was crazy. Her eyes widened as I got up.

"What tha hell Jordan?"

"Shut the fuck up Amarah. You're staying here tonight. Call your paren-"

"Ya just threw a fucking phone at me! I'm not staying hea'."

I grabbed her wrist. She fought back for me to let go. I squeezed her wrist, and she cried out in agony.

"You are going to do what the fuck I say Amarah. Do not fuck with me today."

"Jordan let go. Ya hurting me!"She cried.

I let go of her wrist. She held it in her other hand, blood trickled down her arm. Tears fell to the floor as she cried.

"Mention that nigga again, and ima take blood outta ya fuckin head."

"How could ya do this ta me?"She cried. "I hate ya! I fuckin hate ya!"She screamed.

My fist clenched as she continued to yell at me.

"I'll neva love ya Jordan!"

I turned around and punched her in her face. She fell backwards with a thud. I watched as her nose bled. She didn't say anything.

"I'm the only person you'll ever love Amarah. You'll love me until you take your last breath, even if I'm the cause of it."
